Summer just texted me that she got another call today that there has been another threat. but not specifically to a school, just the area, our city. It says it's a multi state hoax?

It is 36 and raining here. I have water rushing in one window still with the rain. I notified the punchlist lady. I sent a picture. She said she was telling the foreman. I did tell her has seen it 2 times so he knows what it looks like. She claims it needs to be fixed outside but I believe it needs to be fixed inside and outside. I am very frustrated and have buyer's remorse like crazy. I need time for peace and calm in my life in order to figure out things. I thought this was it. As long as I need to stress and worry about the basement it is not happening.

It was a busy day yesterday at work. My whole group was in for a meeting and lunch. The whole group is 6 people, almost half of what we had prepandemic. But we are a tight knit group. I am the newest one in the group having been there only 16 1/2 years. For lunch we had other people who report to our big boss so about 12 of us altogether. It was nice to get together in person after almost 4 years. They are going to hire a new full time person and may change responsibilities to give people different things to do. I would rather just keep what I have. Plus I have had tasks added so I am good. No more please.

I picked up Kenny's kids at the bus yesterday. They have a neighborhood friend who came over for a bit. He is so funny, He asked me for some fruit. I asked if he wanted a banana or an apple. He said both! So he got both. He was a hungry kid. He is very polite and well behaved, at least for me.

I am off today. Going to Market Basket when it opens at 7. Then lunch with my friend. We are meeting halfway at a restaurant that Chris and I used to go to alot. I can go if I am with someone but just not for dinner. I need to figure out what to have for dinner. Friday night dinner is for what I crave so I will have to figure that out. Maybe Pastrami as it has been years since I had some.

Almost at week 8 (Monday) foot wise. Thank you you so much always for asking. God's Mercy I sm continuing to heal. Keeping in extra prayer now that I do His will going forward. Stuck still in podiatrist situation. I know all will and already is A ok because He has this and even me.

Dad's birthday countdown is for sure here. I am so excited and humbly thankful to think in a little over a week we will celebrate together God willing. Dad's postcard albums are officially starting to be compiled today. I would so love all of your kind help. Pictures to come after his birthday.

Good morning. Rained last night, very foggy outside now. Temp is 46 and we are going to hit near 65. At the end of January? Unheard of! I was up until after 2 am, so just woke up and am still tired. My friend was having a rough night so I stayed on the phone with her for a long time.

Not sure what I'm going to get into today yet. But I'm sure I can find something.
@Snowysmom Sorry to hear you have more water coming in. Spring can't get here soon enough, maybe then they can fix the issues.

Happy Friday!

I'm off this weekend so I'm excited for that. Tomorrow night we have our work Xmas party. I'm looking forward to it, it should be a lot of fun.

Wednesday night I stopped at Kohl's on the way to Evan's soccer game . They have 50% off the clearance price. I bought a pair of jeans and another pair of casual pants for Evan's bday present. I'm so tired of seeing him where work pants when he goes places other than work . Mitchell said he'd like another pair of jeans but they didn't have any his size, I'll run to Old Navy tomorrow. All their bdays are a month apart including Jacob & Mitchell's girlfriends. I decided on bday presents for the other 4. Jacob & Livia double date a lot with Mitchell & Erin so I'm getting the boys gift cards to a bowling arcade type place . They have a different type of bowling, ping pong tables, arcade games and some other types of games. The place is called PINS and Bailey actually just was offered a GM position there, her workplace is closing in a few months. I'm getting girls a gift card to a fun diner near PINS so they can go there for lunch and then head over to the other place.

Tonight I'll probably clean and do the last of the laundry. Didn't get anything out of the freezer this morning so I'll need to figure that out when I get home.

Holy moly has it been raining . It's been raining for 3 days, supposed to stop today and then start back up for the weekend. I have a big puddle in the basement, luckily Mitchell put a pump down there so all I have to do is plug it in and it sucks the water up and down the drain. Snowysmom, I feel your pain!

Back to work. I've been working on our quarterly newsletter so I have to add something to that before I send it out. Have a great day & weekend!

They can fix the problems now as far as I am concerned. The inside work they can definitely do now. Outside it will depend on what they decide needs to be done. I do know alot of grass needs to be planted after they grade the area. That is a Spring thing. My condo neighbor and I have been sending lots of pictures of the soggy and puddley ground to the punchlist. I am glad she is a troublemaker too! I need to see if she has water in her basement or if the sump pump completely worked for her.

I did alot of shopping at Market Basket and spent alot of money! But, I am stocked with the essentials for a long time. I have been just picking up stuff here and there but not really doing a big trip that replenishes the staples. I did splurge on a bag of Peet's coffee, caramel brulee. It was on sale and still cheaper than going to Dunkin. I also just indulged in a pair of Lee pants that are 40% off. I am trying to wear something other than jeans once in a while and these pants look nice, are stretchy, and look business casual. Now on to housework before going to lunch. I have vacuumed and now need to clean the countertops.

It doesn't touch the cats food. It loves Cheerio's, so I put some in a bowl mixes with some of the rabbit food I bought. It won't eat carrots, or any kind of greens, I tried. I don't care if it comes to eat when the cats do, I just don't want all of the other 'free range' rabbits this guy has showing up over here. There are at least 4 that we've seen over the last few months, but this one seems to be here all the time. It ate it's food, then I saw it out under the bird feeder eating some of the bird seed that fell on the ground and some of the dried bread I threw out this morning. Silly rabbit doesn't know what it's supposed to eat, lol.

We're always there for each other, no matter what time it is. She's in CO so the time difference always messes us up. I may take a short nap after I finish cleaning. I started stripping the bed, then went to the kitchen for something and ended up cleaning the sink, counters, and stove, lol. Now I have to finish making the bed and get the sheets in the wash, lol. It's going to be one of those days where I start 20 things and hopefully finish at least 15.

It's the little things around here that throw me off. I pulled out the microwave cabinet/bakers rack to clean behind it and Don's cane fell out from behind it. I had totally forgotten about it and started to cry. I thought I had put away almost everything of his that I was keeping but this one totally escaped me. It's hard to believe that he's been gone for 2 1/2 months already.

I think we might have broken a record today. We topped out at 67 degrees. It was like summer out there. I washed my hair and sat on the deck letting it dry. It felt so good. I had windows open and the cats were all enjoying the fresh air too. Now I have 2 rabbits outside, but the newer one isn't as friendly.

I got a lot of chores done today so I can take it easy tomorrow. Off to figure out something for dinner.

I’m glad some of you had nice weather today! Seems you get it first, then it moves up our way! It was absolutely horrible here weather-wise today with cold, pouring rain and flooded roads. Driving home from work I had a scary incident when a bus flew past me and a wave of water covered my car and I couldn’t see for a couple of seconds. Omg! I’m being told that tomorrow and Sunday more rain and clouds are predicted here, and then snow on Sunday.

I’m getting tired of being freezing cold and dealing with this crappy wet weather. Especially w the dogs. I keep towels by the doors but they want to go out a lot cause they’re bored so I’m constantly trying to dry them off, etc. They’re out, they’re in; they’re out, they’re in, lol. Normally I don’t complain too much about the weather but this year it’s getting to me - I think it’s that we have so much to do outside and around the house and DS hasn’t been able to fly so his training is getting delayed, etc. Bring on the Groundhog!

Lynn, too cute about the bunnies. Do you think they were pets that someone dumped? You are kind to feed them. That must’ve been sad when Don’s cane fell out. I would’ve cried, too.

Sorry to hear about ongoing water in basement issues with some of you. Knock on wood, our cellar under the in-law is dry (where we have the french drain and pump). Our water tables are very high here, and we had some flooding the first year or three after we built it, but them somehow it shifted, so we don’t get flooding anymore but we can hear the pump running. I hope things settle out for you come spring. Snowysmom I hope there are other things you’re enjoying about your new home.

Had a pretty good work week. Did have one profound experience with a patient I knew previously, which was both cool and unnerving. I can’t really say much more than that, but wish I could. It’s funny, too, that what we talked about last week with abusive behavior came to fruition for me this week, as well. I think I handled it ok. I was talking to a newer staff member who shared a story with me that happened to her recently. Again, can’t get into specifics but she did share that she cried about it on the way home. This is what drives people away. I shed no tears. Not giving anyone the satisfaction. I knew I did nothing wrong and offered nothing but good care when I was shockingly verbally abused. My guess is that not all was quite right upstairs if you know what I mean.

Nice to just sit and not have to move for a little while. DH and I ordered Chinese. DD went out on a date and DS hates Chinese food, but he’d gone out w his friend for breakfast and had a late lunch so he wasn’t too hungry anyway. He set up my new laptop for me tonight, which was nice of him. I hate doing that stuff. I wanted virus protection first so he downloaded a program we get through Verizon, and then he downloaded my camera software so I’m all set to go. I picked up a wireless mouse and tonight I ordered a sleeve to keep it in even at home, since I won’t be using it too much, and that will come on Monday. But it’s all set for our trip to use for my pics, and I’m glad I got it. It seems like a good one (good reviews) and it didn’t break the bank. I also got four new rechargeable batteries and a new charger so cameras are all set, too. I actually thanked DS because I said now I can do my photography once again more easily, and I have him to thank for getting it going for me.

Lynn Thank you for feeding the bunnies. I feel bad for them so your kindness is much appreciated. Seeing Don's cane was hard for sure. Sometimes things just blindside us and we cry. It is part of it all.

Pea The rain and clouds here have been so depressing and dreary. It is scary when a vehicle drives by quickly leaving water all over the car. Glad your work week was not too bad. I hope you have time to rest and relax. Your doggies are so sweet and cute.

It is about 34 here now and dreary. The rain has stopped for now but it is coming back and then snow tomorrow into Monday. I am finding this weather to be really affecting my mood which hasn't been the best anyway. This morning I woke up sad and in a funk. I did go into the basement this morning and gratefully did not see water rushing in through the window. I will not be lulled into a false sense of security that the sump pump is working and all I need but it was nice to see a dry window and wall this time. Kenny may be coming by after work today to install long lasting batteries in my smoke and CO detectors as well as put up a camera outside on my deck. I may go to the gym a bit later and see if I can last longer than 20 minutes. I am doing some of the exercises at the condo that the trainer taught me. They help with strength and balance. Plus the arm exercises with the playground ball help my upper arms and shoulders.

I had a nice lunch with my friend yesterday. She had good advice and is very supportive. We support each other. Instead of salad I had spinach pie and a greek salad. It was nice to have something different.

Kenny had mediation last week. I asked him about it and he just said he did not want to talk about it as it stresses him out. So, nothing was resolved as I figured. I did tell him he now has time to work on the plan that he wants for the divorce and to ask for all that he wants and what is best for the kids. He may as well ask and hopefully the judge will come in somewhere in the middle. His soon to be ex is thinking of herself and not what is best.

Good cloudy morning. Temp is still 53 and staying there. I didn't even turn the heat back on last night and it was still 70 in here this morning. Calling for rain tonight and tomorrow, and temps in the 40's the next 10 days, but no snow in sight, which is hard to believe.

A couple of weeks ago Summer was telling me that the water department stopped at their house and told them there was a lot of water running according to their machine they scan houses with. She went and checked and no faucets were running, the only drip was the tub faucet they left running when it was below 0. The guys said they would come back in a week or so and run the machine again. She texted me last night that she found the running water yesterday when all the snow melted. Right along the front of their house the water is just pouring out. There's a leak in the main line outside. In WV their meters are at the street, and anything past the meter is the home owners responsibility, the water department won't fix it. So her husband (still not called back to work yet), was going to start digging this morning and see if it was something he could fix. I have a feeling it's going to require a plumber. She told me their 'normal' water bill is $200 that is totally insane. I got mine yesterday and it was $10.60.! With that water that's been running non stop for weeks and going outside instead of in (that part is probably a blessing), the bill could be well over $1000. I would think she would have noticed a drop in water pressure sometime over the last few weeks. It's always something with her.

I did all my cleaning yesterday so I can find something I really want to do today instead, lol

Summer lucked out. He husband was able to dig down far enough to find the leak. There was a good sized pinhole in the water main line. He cut the pipe and got a new piece and some couplers. But he had to find someone to solder it because he didn't know how how to solder. It must be one of the few things he doesn't know how to do. The guy soldered it, the water company came and checked it and said it was good. They waited to make sure everything was dry and finished just before dark, and just before the rain starts.
She just let the landlord know what happened and is hoping he gives them a break on the months rent. It would have cost him a lot to have a plumber come out today, dig to find it, repair it and fill it back in.
