Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

@flyingdumbo127 So happy you got your hair cut! We are all proud of you! It is a great first step. Now you can try other places that will be easier such as Kohls. I hope Costco can help your Dad with his hearing aids.

Lynn So sorry to hear that Summer is having so many health issues still.

It is 40 degrees now with temps going into the 50s. Rain is coming back this afternoon. I am so tired of the dreariness. Yesterday we had a couple of major downpours.

We were without internet service last night as a car hit a pole the next street over. No one hurt. It took a few hours to get it back. I actually ended up going to bed before I knew it was back. I got up early to be sure it was back so I could log into work. If not, I would have had to go into work today. So happy it is back. We are so used to the modern conveniences of life.

Kenny has his court date today. I am very stressed and anxious about the outcome. Soon to be ex canceled their attorney appt last week where they were supposed to try to compromise on the things that they still disagree about. I know Kenny is stressed so I am hoping it goes better than we think it will.

Off to work. Have a good day.

I hope it goes well and everyone feels at peace with the solution.

Good morning. Cloudy now, they say a shower in spots, but we'll see. I am not counting on any roof work until tomorrow. Everything is still soaked. I need this rain to stop and everything to dry out. I feel like I am getting lazy staying in the house every day. I can only clean inside so much.

Going to do grocery shopping, errands, and Don's doctor appt and get that all out of the way this morning. Sister in law told me she went by the plant place yesterday and they finally have their vegetable plants in, so we'll be stopping there today also. It's way too wet and early to plant them, but they can go in the portable greenhouse for the next few weeks. At least I will have them.

Mona, I'm so happy that you were able to get your hair cut. It will make you feel so much better now! Glad it all went well.

@Snowysmom --I hope things go well for Kenny today. All of this is getting dragged on way too long.

Have a great day everyone

Good Morning Dear Friends,

Thank you all again so very much for all your haircut kind words! It does feel great and such a relief, too :) I just 📱Supercuts and got the stylist's name from yesterday so that I can jot it down for next time. That wasn't easy! I just the JC Penney's that is the closest to us. I was hoping to find out whether on their store's online website I could see a listing of what departments are on each of the three floors that this location has. For some reason that was a difficult question for the customer service lady to understand. Once she did, she kindly provided me with the floor info I needed. In fact, things seem to be on the same floor as they were 3+ years ago :) I was hoping for department map because as you know department stores can be massive but that's okay. Going :car:definitely feels more real now.
All positive steps in thankful faith. Oh, this morning, dad brought in our mail that must have come late last night. Included in it, is our Kohls and Penney's gift cards from our credit card rewards! Just seeing the cards brought me such cheer and gratitude! I did double check with Penney's. It clearly says that my birthday reward will come on my birthday.

Quacker Family picture favor for a book story that friend has written. Yellow flowers and a song bird. Hummingbird shares from yesterday reminded me to ask :) I would really appreciate a picture any if you take of either, thank you so much.

Snowysmom:hug:and extra thank you, too, my friend. You are so right that now that I've gotten my haircut, I really do feel safer and more comfortable with going to Kohls and Penney's. I do agree and know at heart that🛍️at both stores will be even safer than going to Supercuts. I'm so glad I did a chat with Kohls just now because according to this Kohls Info I may not have received any birthday offer this year since, of course, I haven't made a purchase since before Covid. A very kind customer service representative emailed me a $10 Kohl's Cash gift certificate that I just printed out:cheer2:Thank God that no one was hurt last night! Many prayers for Kenny, of course, this morning, as well. You, please, stay warm and dry!

PollyannaMom:hug:, cute kid image and may the twins have a fun ⚾game! Please stay warm and dry yourself, my friend.

Thanks and a  to you, of course, too Lynn! Be warm and well and smooth shopping prayers, too. My hair definitely feels much better and lighter now!

Dad is out doing some morning shopping. Sandro, our Sparkletts man came already. Nice Wednesday here all-around. Prayers for joy this new day to each of you. I will check back in later.

Kenny has his court date today.
I really do hope that things work out for him & the kids in a way that helps bring about a peaceful new path forward.

Happy Shopping!

Not much going on here, I've got to go floor shopping (AGAIN) this evening after work...long story short, thought I'd go w/ basic Lowes flooring for the basement redo but Lowes has been such a literal PITA to deal with that I'm going with a private flooring company. I'm done with Lowes for flooring.
Paid my HOA fees on the lots we have that border the farm & neighboring development today, so that is done for the year.
No idea what supper will be this evening - possibly just turkey burgers or we will grab something while out and about after going to the flooring place.
I am for sure done with this damp & chilly & gloomy weather. I'm ready for warmwarmwarm!

Good afternoon!:sunny:

Been busy at work and since I start later now, I don't have the free time before everyone starts rolling in like I used to. Still not liking these hours but oh well.😠

Got home last night from work and cleaned up the backyard. I had the dogs out there running around since they were in the house all day. Carly is still limping around but every now and then she'll start walking on that bad leg. Of course Boomer was running around the yard like a crazy dog and kinda tackled Carly. She started yelping, I knew he hit her leg. Played with them in the house since it started drizzling outside. Carly loves to play ball and Boomer loves his scratches.

Tonight I'm headed to Evan's soccer game ⚽ and some Mia time 🥰. I need to stop at Aldi's and Meijer first.

Snowysmom - hope the court proceedings turned out in your son's favor today.🤞

Have a great rest of the day!

:hug:Easyas, I am so ready for warm weather, too! Thank you also for your shopping good wishes. Flooring prayers to you, my friend. I'm sorry the process so far has been frustrating.

Footballmouse, I chose "sad" for your post because of poor Carly, Paws and extra 🙏for her:dog2: I hope Evan's team does well tonight :)

I just bought Mohawk wood laminate for upstairs from Costco. Not sure when it will get installed yet as I haven't talked to my family contractor type person yet. (It's sort of like trying to get Lynn's Dave to do a job. When they get to it they get to it, and it will be done well so worth waiting for.) It's a grayish color very similar to the Landfall Scraped Oak that is still available online as well as in store. It's the click together stuff.

Considered hardwood which is all over downstairs. Also considered the Mohawk vinyls. But the wood laminate will have a warmer feel, and hardwood is a lot more expensive. This should be easy care and it's not in a high traffic area.

I'm tired of the very light colored carpet up there. Cats do stuff like shed and expel hairballs. It's a challenge to keep up with the stains so it's been on my radar for awhile.

Anyway, saw a 'deal'. DD loved the color and the price was discounted. It almost looks like they changed the name of the color as otherwise it's the same product. Now I have to figure out moldings and stairnose and whether I need a transition piece into the bathroom as it already has a marble piece.

Everyone is so busy with home improvements and gardening. A good way to keep busy. It is still rainy here but I did manage to get in 1 1/2 walks.

The court hearing did not go well. Ex is looking for more. Judge gave them guidance on working things out. They have another date in September so this keeps getting dragged out by the ex. I can tell Kenny is stressed. I am trying to be supportive without stressing him out more. I will not say anything bad about ex to stress him even more but I can think it. I just wish he could catch a break with this. He works hard and wants more time with the kids and a fair money agreement for all.

My friend and I talked about the cruise today. Hard to believe it is so close. I am not sure what to expect and how I will feel so I will not expect anything or expect to feel any one way. It will be a moment by moment trip. We did travel well together to North Conway last year and have similar ideas on what to do.

Have a nice evening.

Judique, you are another busy Quacker indeed home improvement wise as Snowysmom said. I'm so glad you found flooring that you like. Dad and I chose laminate flooring almost 10 years ago now when he finally got the then owner to pay for half of new flooring after a drawn out process through renter's rights. Out here, flooring is supposed to be replaced every 8 years, I think. At that time, dad had already lived here for 20! Same carpet. To be fair, the owner did finally agree to 100% pay for new carpeting. Dad chose laminate for easier clean and to be healthier after the literal dust storm that we saw when workers took up that ancient carpet!

Dad and I are both traditional/old fashioned perhaps in some decor preferences and chose a more honey colored floor. May your new flooring, of course, brighten your space and work well for dear you:hug:

Big:grouphug:🙏Snowysmom to you and for Kenny and his kids. As I often tell, Kirby and Frog, it truly is heartbreaking to me when children are at the center of any type of family dispute or custody battle. Peaceful resolution prayers bigtime. Kenny's kiddos are blessed to have a loving dad and Grandma Snowysmom, too! Thank you always for the unconditional loving care you give them.

AuntieMe3, please check your PM's :)

Wishing all of you a good rest of the day:grouphug:

Happy Thursday all, I see a lot of good news from many of you, and again, appreciate the positivity. Skimming quickly, I also see that someone saw a hummingbird! You must be south, but I'm glad to know they're on their way... I live in the Chicago area, where it's been quite cold and damp of late, though today's weather report is showing sun and 70 - amazing! Good luck to those of you doing home improvement tasks, the flooring can be a tough choice. I'm with the "old fashioned" individual here... partly by taste and partly by necessity - I live in a 100 year old home with original oak flooring and trim. It's lovely. I did the research on the house and put it on the local historical register, which was a lot of fun. (I'm very into history and genealogy so that was right up my alley). Anyway - hoping you all have a great day!

Happy Thursday!:sunny:

Went to Aldi's last night before I headed to the soccer game. Grabbed some blueberries and hamburger patties. I also bought a bag of the Key Lime cookies, so good. We ate the whole bag at the game 🙄. After Aldi's I stopped at Meijer for cat food. Of course I also left there with a couple pair of shorts and a new cross-body purse. I should have just got the cat food and ran to the check out lane so I wouldn't look around.💰

The game was good, they won ⚽. Mia is at such a great age, I forgot some of the things that they did at 6 months. She's starting to babble and laugh.🥰

Dogs weren't happy that I wasn't home very long last night, I'll have to make it up to them tonight. Hopefully it will be nice out when I get home from work and we can go outside and play.:dog2:🐶

Have a great day!

Good morning . Cloudy now, calling for breaks of sun with a couple of possible showers this afternoon. I talked to Dave last night. They actually came while we were out yesterday, but as soon as they pulled in it started to rain and they left. He said if it doesn't rain today, he'll be here. If not, then definitely tomorrow. The next 5 days are supposed to be sunny and warmer. My neighbor mowed his lawn yesterday afternoon in the cold, wind, and rain. Then he wondered why his mower kept bogging down and stopping. The grass was too long and too wet to mow. I'm waiting for a break in the weather long enough to dry everything out

Got my shopping and errands done yesterday morning before Don's appt, and even stopped at the flower guy and got my tomato plants. I got 8 4-packs of different varieties. Some tried and true, plus a couple of new ones. Pink Lady and Mountain Merit.

@Snowysmom I'm so sorry to hear that once again, Kenny's proceedings didn't go as everyone hoped. It's terrible when it gets dragged out like this. September is a long time to wait for another court date.

@footballmouse At least you came out with what you went in for at Meijer's, the cat food, lol. I've gone in for one thing, come out with 20 and without the one I actually started out going in for.
May the fourth be with all of you, have a great day.

Good morning.

Decided I like to skim to see how you all are but am not going to make responding to everyone a goal.

Does anyone watch A Million Little Things? Last night was the series finally. Very well done but what a tear jerker. I was crying like at the end of West Side Story, The King and I, or Brian's Song.

Today we are meeting at CFA for lunch with Andrew. He had a detail in NYC and will be driving home today. I am skipping Bible study, but this is my baby boy.:sunny:

Thank you all again so very much for all your haircut kind words!
I am glad that you finally got out and it was a success.
I am for sure done with this damp & chilly & gloomy weather. I'm ready for warmwarmwarm!
Me too!!
The court hearing did not go well.
I am sorry to hear that.

And cruisers, have fun and use sunscreen.
