I have both Fiestaware and Pfaltzgraff but use mostly the Fiestaware these days. What we (my parent's household) have comes from my Grandmother's era - she used it every day to prepare a large lunch for the ranch hands as my Granddaddy raised some cows. She also used it for her own family and we use it every day so let's say it is very well used. I have noticed grayish scratches on the cream and yellow plates but that is about it and it doesn't bother me.
I love it so much that I purchased new sets of sunflower, lemongrass, persimmon, and cinnabar for my own household (will be moving into a new home soon) - Amazon has good stock and I purchased some sold out colors from ebay as well as seconds from our local antique dealer and some used pieces from a neighborhood garage sale. These dishes last an amazingly long time - ours are 60-70 years old and still going strong. Have fun - now deciding which colors and how many of each color is a great adventure!!
