I have Pfaltzgraf stoneware and they keep cracking and breaking and we are not even rough on our stuff, well its driving me crazy. I've been thinking about replacing it with fiestaware but want some opinions from people who own it.

Can you tell me if it cracks easily or if there are any other cons I should know about I can't stand the thought of spending a lot of money to replace it and then just wind up with the same problems.

Thanks

I have had my original set of Fiestaware for almost 11 years now (got it all for my wedding). Mine has held up just fine through daily use and lots of dishwasher runs and several state to state moves :)

Fiestaware is great. Mine has held up for over 10 years and multiple moves with only one broken piece and that was when I accidentally dropped on a tile floor.

It's fantastic! I've had my set for 21 years. I have two plates with small chips on the underside of them. I am hard on everything I own, lol, and we use them as our everyday dishes for a family of 4, run then through the dishwasher, the kids have dropped them repeatedly but they don't break on our laminate floors. Pretty sure my set will be around long after I'm gone...

My daughter got hers as a wedding gift a few years ago, and it's held up very well. Her husband is a little hard on things, and it's survived him nicely. :)

I've had my original set for about 8-9 years, and I've added to it since then. There are 4 kids plus DH and I who use it everyday. Dishwasher runs about 5 times a weeks, and it still looks great! I've broken two pieces....both when they slipped out of my had and hit a tile floor. No chips in anything.

I just love mine - mixed and matched colors and makes a lovely table for casual settings. The only thing I don't understand (and I called the company when I first noticed it a long time back) is the fine scratchings that I see on them - not that much of a biggie - but if you look close, it is there - not like the perfectly shiny newness. I am getting rid of my dark blue cobalt ones for that reason, doesn't seem to show as much on the lighter colors. They just call it a fine patina of wearing :confused3 I still just love them though, but like my older cereal bowls better that the newer deeper ones I've seen. They are certainly durable though. :goodvibes When I posted, just noticed at the same time the PP has the same problem - no the marks do not go away and I've tried baking soda which is gentle, but yet normally gets out light staining. Sorry, if someone has the answer to these fine lines would certainly like to hear them!!

As PP mentioned, I noticed knife scratches in the darker colors. Cobalt, as mentioned and plum. Never thought about it, but PP is right, those scratches don't appear on the lighter colors. The lines don't have the same appearance as on the Pfaltzgraff. I am familiar with those marks. No chips or cracks in mine. My experience, the colored lines on the glassware did fade with dishwasher use. I like it that Fiestaware is made in the USA. My family plans to add a few more colors to our collection. Love the jumbo mugs and gusto bowls. A few fruit bowls come in handy, too.

Not to hijack the thread, but what color combos is everyone using? I have a maroon color right now, but am ready for a change. Tell me what your using. I need to shake things up :goodvibes

Right now I have lime green and turquoise. :) (I bought it in the spring and it made me happy!)

Fiestaware has survived daily use by DH and I and four kiddos. My 9 year old washes dishes and loads the dishwasher and my 5 year old unloads the dishwasher.

The only piece I broke was a bowl. And *I'm* the one that did it not too long after we purchased our sets.

I set it on the counter but it wasn't all the way on the counter and it fell onto our tile floor and shattered. :(

But FW certainly has stood up to my kiddos. Can't wait to buy more pieces/colors!

I have a mixture of 8 colors purposefully. I love the mixture of place settings on the table. I prefer the lighter colors, except love the red. Do also have cobalt and purple, but will not be keeping those because they show scratches too easily - not that I don't love their colors.

This is what I did as well. I have 8 place settings, each a different color-
Peacock, Turquoise, Marigold, Tangerine, Scarlet, Lemongrass, Sunflower, and
Shamrock I just ordered some fruit bowls and bouillon bowls from Kohls using the 30% off coupon. I just bought the settings before Christmas and I LOVE them.

We love ours too and our pieces are 14 years old. I esp. love the spaghetti bowls. We have light blue, yellow, pink, and turquoise.

I love my fiestaware! I'm using chocolate, paprika, sunflower and an orange color. I bought them in the fall, so I was inspired by the season :). My sister-in-law works at Macy's, so I was able to get a service for 8 using her discount and another coupon for a great price :)

I have place settings plus some odds and ends. A house rule is no white. Colors in our collection: rose, sea mist, peacock, persimmon, periwinkle, cobalt, cinnabar, sunflower, shamrock, scarlet, plum, heather, yellow and tangerine. We would like to add chocolate, lemongrass and maybe paprika. My husband likes brighter colors.

I love our Fiestaware! We still have our original set that is 14 years old, and it still looks great!

A couple of years ago, I bought new sets in lemongrass, peacock, and paprika. I also found a great deal on the Christmas dishes after the holidays, and I stocked up on pieces that I could mix and match with the everyday colors.

I don't have Fiestaware, so not exactly what you asked, but...

Fishs Eddy has the best, sturdiest stuff around. A lot of their stock is actual commercial dishware and their own stuff is like commercial, heavy, thick, durable, well priced. I have all sorts of stuff from them.

I love my Fiestaware! I have full place settings of 12 colors (rose, persimmon, lilac, periwinkle, shamrock, turquoise, peacock, tangerine, heather, sunflower, seamist and chartreuse) and canister set, various colored serving dishes, bakeware, pitchers, mugs and additional plates, bowls and oval platters in various sizes. It has held up great for over 8 years and some of my pieces were bought as seconds from the outlet in WV.

I grew up using the original Fiestaware... Some of which my parents have passed on to me, and it still looks amazing. In addition to the "old" stuff, I have many pieces of the newer Fiesta, and they all blend together very well. I have a bunch of different colors, and love to mix and match. In all of the years that I have used/owned Fiesta, I only have one piece that has gotten a chip (incident with the counter). In addition to having used it myself as a kid, I now have two children of my own that use it daily. I can't say enough good stuff about the looks, quality and durability - and it's fun!
