Booked a trip for May. We have a SN child and are unsure if we will be bringing another set of hands for her. If we do, the person has an AP and will be added to the room at check-in.

How does this affect dining? Will we have to add dining for her since she is not technically on the reservation?

The agent did not tell me that we would, but I didn't ask either. I *was* clear that we would likely be adding a person to the room upon arrival.

The dining plan can be added up until 3 days in advance of your arrival. If a person is being added when you check in, she will have to pay OOP for all of her meals.

The above is correct - you can add a person at check-in (if the extra person does not exceed capacity on the room) but they will not have dining. If you want them to have dining you need to add them at least 72 hours before arrival. If the extra person is 18 or over and you already have two adults in the room you 'll be charged at checkin whatever the extra adult charge is at the category resort you booked for a third adult.

Thank you both. :)

We were wanting to pay for her OOP as she will be doing other things while we are down there and not with us all the time. This will work out perfectly. :thumbsup2

I thought everyone in the room had to have the dining plan.

They do, if you add them prior to arrival.

If you add them after arrival, all they will get is a key. No dining, no tickets, and no ability to use Magical Express from the airport.

It works out better too... because if she has an ap she would have to buy tickets to get the dining plan which she obviously wouldn't need.. Win win!

Has anyone done this? It would be terrible to get there and have to get a ticket and add the dining plan.
