For those of you who are back and have already tried out the QS Dining Plan, what are your thoughts? I'm still debating whether I should do this for me, and DD14, DD11. We have a ressie for CRT, but that's our only TS meal for the week, the rest of the time we'll be eating CS.
So, how did you like it?

My thoughts are that it is good if you want desert and pop at every meal. For me and my wife it doesn't make sense because we are going to drink water to stay hydrated in the heat and we don't usually eat desert with our meals.

I am interested in hearing as well....we are also going to be on the QS plan when we go in June.:thumbsup2

We just got back from using the QSDP and really enjoyed it! I felt it was the perfect choice. We did the regular DP last year and didn't like all the TS everyday. We have a 2 yr old so eating TS is sometimes stressful, especialy with the crowds.
We stayed at CSR so we ate 3 times at the Pepper Market. You can't beat using a CS meal for the value there. We also ate at Wolfgang Puck Express which was an excellent value. I loved having 2 snacks per day as you could get a drink and food snack.
I thought this was an excellent choice for our type of eating this trip.

I understand that! When mine were that age, eating at TS places could be a nightmare!!
We also LOVE Wolfgang Puck Express....it's such a GREAT deal for a CS credit!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I'm also interested since I'm using the QSDP our July vacation. I'm not worried about drinks and dessert because you can always get a bottle of water as a drink and you can get your dessert and save it for later as a snack. Last year on the regular DDP we frequently got our dessert to go and later enjoyed it at our resort room.

Couldn't you get water as your drink?

Stupid question here --- is "CS" the same as "QS" or does Disney define them differently?

We were on the QSDP in Feb. and it really was perfect for *us*...for you..it's going to depend on what kind of eaters your kids are....are they lighter eaters or heavier? At that age it could be either way...but Disney is going to charge them as adults...so if they are light eaters then it does not make sense to pay $29 a day when they could easily just split an adult meal between them and have enough to eat....or if they would rather order from the kids menu and be happy. If they both eat like adults though then your going to save money on the QSDP. Also...don't let all of those snack credits scare you...remember...they can be used to eat breakfast too ;) Which is what *we* did with a chunk of ours :)

Also interested. I booked the QSD for my June trip as well. Just my 17 yr old nephew and I. Never used the dining plan before. How are the portions? Decided to exclusively do just the QS plan and not make any ADR's, first in a long time. Any advice on the restaurants with the best food deals/options?

I too was looking for the "best deal", but I have now decided that the best deal is what I feel like eating! I had to let go of my need to cost Disney the most money possible though! No sense getting ribs which I don't really like when I feel like some tacos or a hot dog...

I think the best deal I've heard of so far is the Ribeye Steak that you can get at the Pepper Market (Coranado Springs resort). It's $21, only served for dinner, but actually qualifies as a counter service meal!

We are doing the QSDP for the first time this May. We have done the Basic plan (back when it included appetizer and tip), and it was just too much food and too much scheduling for us.

We have always found the QS portions to be more than enough, and plan to share as often as possible so we can get some breakfast out of it as well. We are also planning to 'eat our way around' World Showcase, trying food from different countries. We are looking forward to eating when we're hungry and not when we have an ADR!

I have read on some threads that you can get water as a drink and fruit for dessert at most places, and some CMs will even give an extra drink instead of dessert. We still think it is a great value for us, even if we don't order dessert and here's why - I am the type of person who ALWAYS checks prices before ordering. I will get something that I don't necessarily want the most, just because it is less expensive. Any dining plan takes this out of the equation for me, because I order what I want to eat and don't pay attention to prices. For me it is not about squeezing every last cent I can out of the plan, it is about the freedom that the plan gives me. Maybe it is a mental thing, but it works for us.

I would suggest looking at QS menus and pricing out what you think you would eat, then looking at those totals vs DP totals. I priced ours without dessert, and still think we'll come out a little ahead, especially with the snacks and mugs. There are lots of breakfast items you can get with Snack credits, so we anticipate not really needing to bring extra food for breakfast.

The best QS place for us was Wolfgang Puck Express. The food was great!!:thumbsup2 We also liked POP food court, because we could get lots of different things, and we found the food to be pretty good. Not gourmet, of course, but better than average fast food. We are planning to try Pepper Market this time for a little variety.

I could not have said it any better myself :thumbsup2

Just wanted to add Sunshine Seasons in The Land at Epcot to the list... one of the best CS options in Disney World!
