Ok-Halloween is tomorrow! So there are two parts to today's question of the day:

1. Do you let your kids trick-or-treat?

2. If you let them go out and get candy do you swipe any for yourself?

So for my own answers: We go trick-or-treating sometimes, this year and last year there's been a church "harvest party" and we let DD trick-or-treat with her grandpa around his neighborhood-they both love it! But there are too many scary people out there now it seems...

And as for swiping-we usually "try" to ask if we can have some, sometimes she's just got too much so we have to confiscate a little and who wants it to go to waste?!

Have a great day!

We take them to the church party and around the neighborhood, and that's it. We don't swipe any of their candy.....they count it!

My niece is going trick-or-treating in her neighborhood and Auntie Chrissy will be given some of the peanut butter cups :D

1. Do you let your kids trick-or-treat?
We do very little trick-or-treating only to close friends since we have no family in our area. We will also stop by the Church and the Fire Station.

2. If you let them go out and get candy do you swipe any for yourself?
After inventoring the candy and taking out the no-no's...I only take the candy they really don't want. My kids are good about sharing with one another so we don't have too many fights. The main fight is not having it in their rooms!

1. Do you let your kids trick-or-treat? yes

2. If you let them go out and get candy do you swipe any for yourself? YES!!!

My kids go out, and have since I was walking them up the block at around 5yrs old. In our neighborhood now, there is a TON of kids, so we buy gobs of candy to give out. (And 1 special bag for mom, almond joys...would you believe DH gave it out one Halloween? Sheesh...men!) But my kids still go out. I asked DS19 if he was going this year, I was hoping he would say no and give the candy out...nope, he is going. DS15 is having a friend over, and they are going out together. But I check every piece of candy that comes in, and toss anything suspicious.

I get the "yucky" stuff (like almond joys :woohoo:)

We trick or treat in our neighborhood. We live in a "closed" community so it works for us. And besides, either myself (with my sparkle Minnie ears) or my DH (with his Yoda backpack) will be going with them. :) The other gets to give out the candy. Usually my parents give out the candy and we both go with the kids, but with my dad still in the hospital, that is not on the agenda this year.

I also go through the candy and take out anything we won't eat and then we put it in a few big bags. My DH usually brings some into work and I eat way too much. The kids are really good about not eating too much and we usually throw a lot away around Easter. :rotfl:

We definitely trick or treat!:thumbsup2 My treat is that my DS doesn't like candy, so I get all of his loot!

We live in the middle of nowhere, seriously, and the houses are way too far apart and down long driveways. Mine is 500 feet. So nobody trick-or-treats near here. I feel too weird driving to a community/development where we don't live to just ring someone's door to get candy. My boys are happy dressing up for school, so they haven't made a big deal about not going door-to-door. We will go get some candy when it's on sale Thursday and we all share so no taking of the loot needed.

We definitely trick-or-treat! We have a great smallish neighborhood with lots of trick-or-treaters. We all go- DH's brother and his wife are going with us this year. I make the kids seperate their candy into 3 piles- favorites, sorta favorites and least favorites. I usually convince them the Butterfingers are in the sorta or least favorites so I can get them later!
I throw away the least favorites and put away the sortas. They get to eat the favorites over the next few weeks. The sortas are kept for just in case and usually thrown away at Easter! :lmao:

Yes we go trick or treating. We do a couple of streets right around us.

Dh and I go through the candy and pick out what the kids wont eat and what they are allergic to and put the rest in a huge bowl and they share it. The rejected ones go to DH's work or to church. The almond joys go to mom:lmao:

1. Do you let your kids trick-or-treat?
unfortunately yes, I hate halloween. Knocking on strangers door begging for candy is just not my thing. We live on a super busy road so we go up the hill to a cul-de-sac neighborhood. I know most of the families up there so it's safe. My dad drives the Model-T up there and we go to a few houses, ride a bit, then hit a few more houses. I last no longer then 20 minutes.

2. If you let them go out and get candy do you swipe any for yourself?
you betcha!!! they're draggin' my sorry butt out there, you bet I'm gettin' something out of it. I actually take all their candy and divide it up evenly. They each get a bag back. Then I every day while they are at school I toss some out. I know, I'm a mean mommy! LOL

That is my whole thing Buffy.. tell them not to take from strangers and than knock on doors... That was an issue DH and I had.. we compromised with ONLY friends we knew..and take them to do something special at another time.. DH is gone tomorrow so it's all on me..and I'm not a Halloween girl!!!

No, DD is too old for trick or treat now, and because we live in the sticks, there will be no little goblins at our door.
