Q: Who has gotten a "Here from Day 1" badge?

I joined the VMK scene about a month or two after It started, so no badge for me.

Anyone on the DIS got one? If so, how did you find out about VMK? What was it like, before all this annoying things such as taken or mummy and daddy?

EDIT: I think I joined June/July time.

I've been here since Day 1. I found out about VMK in a Magazine about four months before it opened beta. So, when It finally did open beta, I joined. It was very much less crowded. No events where you have to wait in line behind 500 people. I do not even think there were even 500 people playing. The parade event was so much fun. And not as much Duh Duh, mummy, kid, taken, etc as we have now. And, green flips were not as "To Die For" as they are today. It was a really fun time. VMK officially opened somewhere mid in June.

I was told on a site that beta was April through mid June, and I guess you can call it "Gamma", or the days after beta is from mid June to Present day

I was on from Day 1, but only got to play it for a few days before my browser wouldn't take it. I didn't really get it at first. But I didn't really have enough time to explore.

I finally was able to get back on in mid-July, and I've been playing ever since.

I have been here since Day 1. It was really slow in the beginning. I did not play that much - wish I bought more beta. But you know when you are knew - it takes awhile before you figure it out.

Hey. I've been here since Day 1. I read about VMK when I booked my trip for WDW online. There was a link or something. It hadn't opened yet, but I kept checking back until it did.

Actually VMK started May 23, 2005 for Beta although some were in and playing pre beta. A friend on the rewards board told me about VMK!

I joined on May 26 so was almost there since Day 1....still have the day 1 badge anyone who played during Beta does.

I Joined The day or a few days after the public beta opened but i couldnt get on much and was lost... therefore i got no beta furniture, couldnt be one of the first CL_'s, and missed on the inferno event!!! i was not able to be on when they had that!

I was here since the beta days, I found out through my dad - amazing Disney person by the way! and have been playing ever since. I like the rest of you wish I had had a better understanding of the game for example I missed the parade event because I didnt really hear about it and after it was over I didn't fully understand it! lol! Being new to things is hard! I also bought a lot of furniture yay for me!! BUT GUESS WHAT?? I bought all the furniture that ended up not being retired and becoming beta!! I bought all the stuff that is still around today!!!!! Figures! lol!

That's strange. I played VMK like all the time in beta, and did not get my "Here Since Day 1" badge until June

We got our badges the day that VMK officially left beta and went fully public - as a thank you for helping!

I have a Day 1 badge. I think it was the now defunct Disney Magazine that I learned about it in. I signed up, logged in, didn't really get it. I didn't buy anything or play any games. I was so clueless. So I didn't play again until probably some time in July when I saw a mention of it on another Dis board. Found the VMK boards and finally figured out what I was doing. I still had my guest name because I kept trying to use titles with numbers and/or banned words. Took a while for that to sink in.

MagicAce, just to tell you, it did NOT open then.It opened mid april.That event WAS not the opening of VMK event, it was the 'summer is here' event.The prize was inferno and I'll agree, it was VERY fun.

I have my nice Day 1 badge. I found out about VMK from that disney magazine I always steal from my sister to look at for a bit. I went before beta, but I couldn't get in yet. So I came back every day until I could play. Sadly all the beta furniture I got I sold while still in beta, not knowing it would become rare. >_<

I have a Day 1 badge. I created my charater but didn't understand the game so I did not play. I missed out on all the beta items because of that. Then I happen on this forum and all the great information and finally started to play. Thanks Dis!! For me the Day 1 badge isn't a good thing, I get so many trade requests, even though I have in my signature "Please ask before trading". They think I have rare things.

I joined up but wa unsure what it was too. I had done a character but stoped there. The I saw it on dis and followed the link and went to sing up and realized this was the same thing I had already signed up for. So I too missed most of beta startin late June.
