Q about 1-time points rental from another member

Sorry for all the newbie Questions but there is so much info you guys have on this subject that I had no idea about, but I keep having questions, so please bare with me.

How does someone rent 1-time points from another member? Does the other person have to make a reservation for you? Or can they just transfer points to your account if you pay them per point? thanks again

EVERYTHING about the point rental process is negotiable. The Rent / Trade board here has a FAQ which offers some suggestions, but each renter names his own terms.

It is possible to have another member transfer the points to your account. However, due to the limitations imposed on such a transaction (you can only transfer points in one direction per year), some people are unwilling to do that, or will charge a premium price.

If you want the points to be transferred outright, make sure it is mentioned in the initial rental request. If you are unsuccessful in getting transferred points, you can always have someone make a ressie for you, and MS will link it to any other reservation you have for the same time period to insure that you don't have to change rooms.
