PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

That's true about BLT.

I'm sorta guessing that Poly Tower will go the same way and add a small desk area eventually. There's no staff in the Tower at all after a certain point in the evening. It's just cost cutting. But a huge inconvenience. In May, we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come over to the tower when our door didn't open.
Same thing happened to me. It was annoying because I arrived late but knew we should be able to get into our room with our Magic Bands. Instead, none of our Magic Bands would work on the elevators nor, as we learned later, our rooms. We ended up searching around the main lobby for someone to help us to no avail. Eventually we found a phone on the wall and had to call over to GCH and wait for someone to come over with a tablet to fix all of our Magic Bands. I thought checking in online would have saved us time by allowing us to go straight to the tower but, in the end, it was a waste of our time.

We did like the Tower and had a wonderful stay. Wailulu was a beautiful place to eat sitting outside. So I don't want to say it detracted from our visit but some logistical things clearly need to be worked out given the lack of support in the tower lobby after hours.

One of the irritating things here: DVC dues are used, in part, to pay for staff in GCH, such as at the front desk. Only for the tower--which is all DVC--there's no staff after around 7 or 8pm. I'm sure there's an exact time that staff leaves--I noticed they were gone consistently after dinner. So all of the staff that DVC dues partially pays for is over in the GCH which covers cash and DVC areas and the one DVC-only area is empty.

I loved Wailulu. I like the new lobby. I wasn't a fan of the Tower rooms. For the same number of points on a standard studio, you can get a larger room with a far better view in the long houses. But as always, I had a good time while I was there. Oh, loved the terraces (minus the fake plants) as well.

All of the talk of how bumpy things are at the tower may make me cancel our few nights there in January. We have the full trip booked at BCV 1BR but have a 3 day reservation at the tower in a 1BR TPV room. I tried for standard view but no luck. With how expensive the TPV rooms, the many complaints of the PIT lately, and how much we like BCV I may just cancel the PIT part and just stay those nights at BCV instead. I just keep going back and forth!

Just curious if you were using Magicband+ or the regular Magicbands. We always have trouble with our regular mb not opening the door and wondered if guests are having trouble with the newer mb+ as well.

On our trip last month, my regular MB did not unlock our door upon arrival. Thankfully, the guy with the tablet came and fixed it fairly quickly.

Remember the golden rule of the internet - the complaining voices are always the loudest online. That does not mean that is the most common experience. It just means that people who went and had a great time aren't coming here to say "went on the trip, it was great!".

I'll throw my voice in the mix: I was at Polynesian in June; overall I enjoyed it, but I can see where some of the complaints are coming from. Some staff didn't seem invested, and it is overcrowded (with guests? Or non-guests? I'm uncertain).

True. But the other time we have stayed at the Poly (before the Tower) we already felt it was quite busy. It wasn't a special time or anything (late April/early May). I loved the resort, but did not like how busy it felt and how many people that were hanging out there that were not staying at the Poly (or even on Disney property at all! We camped out in some chairs on the beach to watch fireworks one night and heard multiple families talking about how nice it is but how they could never pay what it cost to stay at WDW...)

And it doesn't sound like it got much better with just the Wailulu Bar & Grill being added for all the new Tower rooms. That plus the point cost savings and how much we already like the Beach Club makes me question if it's worth trying out the tower yet. Might wait until I can grab a standard view 1BR room or they have figured out their issues.

I've stayed at the Tower twice this year. The Tower itself really didn't feel crowded at all. Sometimes Wailulu could be, sure. But even then not terrible. GCH on the other hand, always crowded. But it always has been. I didn't notice an uptick since the Tower was built. And as @Tatebeck said above, the crowds are most likely those not staying there.

As for bell services at the Tower, no issues either time. It was much worse at CCV on our most recent trip. As @Tumnus said, the complainants, while a high proportion here, are likely a small percentage of cases overall.

To me, part of the point of the Poly is that it is an active, vibrant place. I am not going there for a quiet relaxing time, but there are other places for that---and that's why it is good to have many options!

Agreed, I don't have complaints about it being crowded at the GCH. It's just a part of the Poly. When we want something quieter at WDW we go elsewhere.

In my travel backpack are a handful of magic bands. There's at least two magicband+ and three of the old magicbands. None worked. And the month before, I had one of them reset while I was staying at Jambo, so that should've been golden. Admittedly my wife still has an old MB. But my MB+ didn't work either.
