PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

We never received a mailer, and no, my husband did not dispose of it as he wanted the points as much as I did. Our daughter advised she received emails about buying that we did not. All three of our kids are on one of our old contracts with us as well as our new Poly purchase.

We did talk to our guide a few weeks ago so they did know we were buying. That could be why we were not sent anything.

Figured no place better to ask then here.
When I enter the craziness on the 15th. IF I can get a room for a few nights. I might be a few points short depending on if and when I can get a room.
The question... will the purchase of one time use points be allowed or is this strictly poly points only? This will help determine how I approach things.

No OTU points, I’ve asked this twice to confirms, once with member services and once with my guide.

100% agreed! We always knew the first week or two of sales would be good to great due to all the excitement and would be buyers who were buying no matter what the price was. What happens in the next 1.5 - 3 months is where we’ll really see just how well sales are truly going.

BPK sales were a good example of this. The first few months were exceptional and then they fell.

It’s why RIV outsold it in 2022 for 4 or 5 months when it was lower and the intial buying frenzy ended.

So, let’s see come January how it holds up, and how the pricing stacks up in the future.

Think of the initial bookings as home resort priority, regardless of the timing of your trip.

So, only PVB points will be eligible for the declared inventory. Reports are that new points, if one has them, will be allowed special access to rooms owned by DVD…but, that one won’t be able to convert current PVB points to supplement that booking.

  • November 27 Moana 2 opens in theaters.
Are you saying Maria Menounos is gonna try to sell me a timeshare while I'm waiting for the movie to start?

EDIT: the in-jest tone probably didn't come across great here. I think it would be fascinating for a pre-roll ad for WDW or DVC before Moana 2.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this Q but I have a reservation at the Poly, that I am hoping to switch the the Tower on the 15th.
I am a Poly owner and my current reservation is booked with Poly points.
The room I will switch to (if I can) is exactly the same points
So I think I am good right? I can just modify my current booking proving the room type I want is available?

In theory, assuming they are all Poly points, yes. I am hoping for the same thing for one of my reservations, and also upgrading on from a studio to 1br (which means more points). However, the big variable here is no one knows how many of each room/view type combo exists and more importantly how many are declared at that point. This will impact the availability of sooooo many people trying to switch their reservations.
This is why some of us (me, its me!) are getting stressed about having enough shiny newly purchased tower points if the pull from undeclared inventory is actually a real benefit they will provide.

Yes, you are eligible to try and book on the 15th. You will need to call in to modify as online booking won’t be set up yet.

I love that I am primary on our contract, but only my spouse got this in the mail. The one person in the house who is basically indifferent to DVC.🤣

We have exactly the same issue as well! Actually just called DVC Member Services about that, and they suggested I contact out guide to ask because they see me as the primary contact everywhere. I'm kind of hesitant to do so I don't mess anything up.

The one other time we encountered an issue was at a Moonlight Magic event where they couldn't scan my band (even though I was listed as the main person on the event) but my wife's worked. Good thing she also attended... That only happened one time though out of several times we went to MM so I'm not sure what was different other than it was a no DVC reservation MM booking. Maybe related to having multiple use years?

We bought 150 points for Poly on Saturday for our first ever direct contract.
(As an aside, this is my 4th contract, so addonitis is real and I need to get rid of a contract).

I was blown away how easy the transaction was. Called guide saturday morning and said we wanted to buy, had documents within an hour or so, and had points in our account around 4pm.

We are a Feb use year so we got 2024 and 2025 points. I was excited that the 2024 points are prorated for dues (I am guessing only 2 weeks worth of dues since tower doesn't open until end of December). They complimentarily banked the 2024 points in 2025 when loaded as well. The points were already usable at historic poly rooms and I believe we can obtain the new rooms middle of October.

I was a bit bummed that incentives were not a little stronger, but I think it will be a good seller for DVD so I can't blame them on not having crazy incentives. I wanted to take advantage of magical beginnings and sell back the first year points to reduce the purchase price but they were not doing that for Poly at this time. I couldn't be that mad though I guess as the dues are minimal here.

Really made me laugh though how quickly this whole process went....on my first resale contract, disney sat on the contract for 89 days in ROFR....direct purchase just a few hours and points were in your account!

I'm not stressing, per se -- I definitely want the construction crew and all the equipment safely moved away -- but it did cross my mind it could certainly delay the opening by a week or two!

Is anyone else stressing that Hurricane Milton is going to delay the opening of the Poly Tower?
I don’t think it will bother the building at all, it’s brand new construction and solid as a rock. That said, if there is a catastrophic humanitarian need in Orlando after the storm; Do I think Disney would send construction workers to help people, yes.

I think the most probable concern is that work has to pause for at least a day or two, with an unknown amount of slack in the schedule between now and Dec 17.
