PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

It's no different than someone who buys new at Riviera or Disneyland Hotel today, and may have to wait a year to find availability because thousands of other owners and non-owners have already staked a claim on availability for the next 11 months.

In those cases, DVC has been known to "help" new buyers via their developer inventory. And the same is likely to happen here with Island Tower.
Valid point, I suppose it’s the nature of the beast being that it’s the same association.

I am really starting to consider FW 19 or 44. I'd probably eventually sell my resale Poly. I just don't know what to choose. I personally loved my trip to Poly in May, F&G is my favorite festival, I really want beautiful warm pool weather, and this trip will start every year on Mothers Day :)
But we live in New Jersey, so week 44. I will be there 2 night this year on week 44 before our cruise, but I dont want to wait until then to decide and miss out on the 10/15 date to use the banked points!!
HELP!

Anyone ask if you can still buy fixed weeks at the original villas and bungalows since they are still on the chart?

I don't think that is legally possible. However, my guide assured me that they have "set aside" developer inventory for those that recently bought. He said when I call member services on 10/15, I need to mention that I recently bought the tower and they will help me secure a reservation that would otherwise be unavailable to non-tower owners attempting to book. I didn't ask specifically, but the impression he gave was all owners can book on 10/15 from declared inventory (which I believe to be a legal requirement).
I thought the same thing - I was relieved when I found out the Tower was going to be attached to the existing association for the sole reason that there would be no resale restrictions for the O13 resorts and I could book any other new resort as an available option. That plus a chance to get a fixed week at a peak time made the decision for me.

Interesting - I did not clarify with my guide this morning whether or not I could book the Tower on 10/15 using non Poly points. I wonder if non-Tower related poly points (i.e. PVB points purchase before today) is the same as non-Poly points with respect to these booking checkpoints...

Only PVB points can be used on the 15th. Now, they certainly can give those that added on new points access to undeclared inventory that they don’t have to open to current PVB owners.

But, only PVB points work, even if within 7 months. I am still having a hard time believe that current owners will be given special access to a welcome home booking with their new points as DVC has never done it.

So, it will be a good thing to watch.

That's what I figured. Anyone manage to squeeze out of their guide info about number of rooms with each view in each catergory?
I asked this question too, and no response! He did call me, but I haven't had a chance to get on the phone yet.

I asked this question specifically and my guide said he did not have this breakdown by view category. Best he had was quantities of room types inclusive of all view categories.

I'm a current owner as well, but he said that given the circumstances they will allow new purchasers access to developer inventory to secure reservations at the tower. He reiterated it several times (I questioned it a lot) and told me to make sure I tell member services that I'm a new purchaser when I call on 10/15. It came off as believable and I sure hope it is, because I'll be pretty miffed if not. You're right though, it will be an interesting thing to watch!

I had the same reassurance from my guide that they will allow access to cash inventory for all bookings with new points. We will see!

They need to release this info! Important to know what you are buying.
AFAIK Disney has never officially released this information for any resort. People have pieced it together from comparing the number of points in a given unit to the drawings of the units in the filings with the county.

Reactions: ehh
If concerned about being able to book on 10/15 and buying, could wait a few days to docusign! At least you'd have some 'threaten to rescind' leverage if they are 'having problems' finding inventory.

Any DVC owner can rent out their points for someone else to use to take a trip. For the Poly you can get around $18-$20 per point for this. MB is a clever promotion where you buy points from Disney and immediately rent back your first year’s points, not to a third party but to Disney itself, for (I believe) $20 per point. Clever because lots of people then think of their purchase as “buying in at $195 per point” as opposed to “buying in at $215 per point and renting out my first year’s points for $20 per point”, which can help people feel better about their purchase price.
Another way to look at it is, buying a year early and locking in the savings. Although you only get the current years points. Part of the fun for me is having double the points to use to book a trip right after purchase.
