PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

A question for everyone :
Which Island Tower room categories do you think will get booked up first during holiday seasons?
(After the first year or so, of course)
I am thinking the standard view studios first, both Duo and Deluxe.
Then maybe the standard view 2-bedroom, but I could be mistaken.
.

I think will these will be crazy difficult near and long-term.
  • SV duos are new to PVB and will be extremely limited quantities. I could see this being as hard to book as AKV value.
  • Only 1 2BR theme park view will make it very difficult. Wedding chapel is next door, so this may be the fairy tale wedding choice of many.
  • Only 1 2BR preferred view should be less popular than TPV, but there are only 1 of these. Again, weddings next door at the chapel.
  • 1BR SV will be very limited and new to PVB. (Lockoffs ....1BR or studio booked removes a 2BR lockoff from inventory.)
  • 2BR lockoff SV will also be very limited and new to PVB. (2BR lockoff removes a 1BR/studio from inventory.)
  • Island tower deluxe studios will also be extremely limited. First few years these will be hard to book. 288 longhouse SV studios vs my guess is less than 20 SV studios in Island Tower. (same points). If roughly 8% prefer tower to longhouse, these will be extremely difficult. (Lockoffs ....1BR or studio booked removes a 2BR lockoff from inventory.)
  • 2BR dedicated TPV (initially appearance is only 8 of these). If so, these are going to be very difficult to book.
  • Other duo views are probably in this group too. Seem limited quantity, new to PVB, and people love to save points.
1BR and 2BR (possibly lockoffs only) preferred view would be next up.
It seems like there will be a lot of TPV rooms, so the studios, 1BRs, and 2BR lockoffs will be up next.

It would really help if Disney released information on the number of rooms in each category.

If you use BPK as a similar guide for studios - TPV will be the easiest to get tower studio.
The bulk of DVC is very points conscious and will usually pass on a high priced view in the long term ( maybe do it once)

However I don’t see SV tower as popular as longhouse SV in the long term - this is the first time we have the new room being 4 vs 5

I was thinking about a fixed week duo studio too! Now, I'm planning on buying just enough points for our July trip to check it out in person. If we like it and there is another sale close to as good as Riviera was when we bought in, we'll likely buy more then.
you could just rent someone's poly points to book for July and then decide if you want to buy poly points

We thought it would be once and done, but our own experience with PVB lake view ended up being more like once every 6-10 years.
Ironically, we don't feel this way with BLT TPV, but we don't like the parking lot right below and paying TPV for a room where the family one floor below may be paying SV points.

I agree it won't be as popular.
Percentage wise, I have a hard time believing 94% will prefer the longhouse deluxe studio over the tower studio. Currently, there are 288 longhouse SV. Guessing less than 20 SV tower deluxe studios. If my guess is right, that's less than 7% of the SV deluxe studios in the tower. Of those SV tower deluxe studios, anyone booking a lockoff 2BR SV removes one SV deluxe studio from the inventory.

The rental system makes me nervous too. Can you imagine them cancelling your reservation with like a month to go. No way i would want to be in that position.
I also already have flights booked, so I need to get my exact dates. I have a feeling I'll try harder than anyone renting out their points to get the exact reservation I want.

Hmmm … the FAA granted Disney a permit to use a crane to build a 10 floor tower on the Reflections site. If they are going to get started on Reflections, maybe a few more direct Poly points aren’t such a bad idea.
A tower in the middle of the forest sounds horrible. lol
I mean is WL not big enough??
