PVB Points Chart !

Perhaps. But how much do you think a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom would cost point-wise? At least as much as VGF, if not a little more? If, as some people are alleging, the one- and two-bedrooms are not in great demand at VGF because of the point requirements, then would the situation be duplicated with a PVB tower full of one- and two-bedroom villas?

No... It would be mostly studios with lockoff two bedrooms and grand villas...

I don't think we'll ever really see "dedicated" twos again... And minimal ones...

You can get much more flexibility out of lockoff/ studio combos.

They could also "invent" a new 3 bedroom "non grand villa"... Studios - one- studio. I always thought that was more useful to both sides... It could be "cheaper" and they don't want you hanging out in a family room or using a dining room anyway.

The "home away from home" myth will be phased out strategically over time... Like the "buy here, stay anywhere ! " tactic.

Since they have increased the restaurant prices a full 100% in 10 years...and people pay that and more...not to mention buying hard reservations with money guarantee that allow them to put a firm cap on staffing...why would Disney build kitchens?

Holy crap. I guess my measly 180 points are never going to get me in at the Poly. I guess I will have to continue to slum it at the AKL.

Insane. INSANE.

My home resort is akl also. Slum it out. We still have concierge level to stay at with out points. I don't think poly or vgf have that.

Lol no surprises at least from what's been posted.

Yeah! No egg on my face for posting them on Thursday, and then the official ones posted today being different. Luckily, it's the same data.

:thumbsup2

Too bad Animal Kingdom Lodges are still my favorite DVC resort to this day! Most room options anywhere! I will very happily slum it there any day! :cool1:

We're joking here...

But we're also not...

The huge uptick in upfront point cost and points per accommodation is really a bad trend.

Not only for those sinking far too much cash (no matter your finances) in new contracts...but the potential to "backflow" all these points into the boardwalks, old key wests, and beach clubs of the world.

It also makes "retrofitting" that most of
us agree on the horizon more interesting...

If they redo wilderness or say...beach club...how
Do they sell assigning higher point values than what's already there? What modifications do they make to the units?

A flip down bed worth 10 points more a night in a studio?
or is there a contract loophole where they can reassign the whole development...old and new?

Hmmm.

Now just waiting for those availability and booking menu dropdowns to show up !!! :cool1:

They also don't have those magnificent animals grazing out their windows :goodvibes

AKV is one of our home resorts too, and I wouldn't trade them for Poly. Yes the view of the fireworks is nice and the water pageant is nice too, but the uniqueness of AKV just never tires for us. We'll stick with slumming it and smile all the while!

Just confirmed ..........

PVB member bookings to start 2/11/2015
Non PVB member bookings to start 2/25/2015

I agree , LOVE our AKV !!! :thumbsup2

Poly would be in third place for us , after AKV, and VWL .

Here's something to mull over. Once the demand for Poly stiduos is confirmed, is it unthinkable to imagine a DVC model for the Mods and the Values? After all, now that the the points requirements are skyrocketing, DVC will then be able to sell smaller accommodations with smaller sales contracts. Then MF will bankroll the maintenance of portions of those resorts too.

There's a reason Mickey so always smiling. I foresee his not being able to muster up a look of fear ever again, even during Fantasmic!

I don't think they'll go there...
This has been kicked around... But as long as the place is filling up at escalating prices... Which it is...

Why would they want to create a "discount" market within DVC.

Make no mistake. If DVC were a discount proposition for Disney, it wouldn't exist. Money upfront is always better than potential money down the road.
