PVB Points Chart !

I am disappointed with the layout of the bungalows. Having only two normal beds is not great for a suite that is supposed to sleep 8. This combined with the high points for a bungalow rules the Poly out for us. Compared to other DVC resorts this is poor value. I would rather spend the points staying in a 3br villa.

$6.02 per point MF's!

Wow. No subsidizing this time apparently.

I thought Disney wanted to use DVC to pay for resort costs but with the high number of points I wasn't expecting it to be quite so high to start.

I find it odd that BLT and Aulani were sold with low dues, the DVC management was fired and since then VGF and PVB start off with much higher dues. :scratchin

Holy crap. I guess my measly 180 points are never going to get me in at the Poly. I guess I will have to continue to slum it at the AKL.

Insane. INSANE.

WHAT? 115 pts a NIGHT in the low season? That's more points than we get in a year!!!!! That's insane. Who is going to stay there?

Hey now !!! :rotfl:

Talking about AKV ......

I did a quick points comparison with our summer reservation at AKV compared to PVB .

We have a savanna view 2 bedroom dedicated at Kidani reserved, will be 272 points.
Bungalow, is not even a justifiable (or sane) comparison so .......for two lake view connecting studios we are a few points off 300 . :scared1:
Love the poly, but .........no .

When are they taking the first reservations? Do you think there will be availability for the end of April for a studio?

I imagine they'll start as soon as the contracts start closing, which is to say, almost immediately. Clearly, PVB owners who get in early will have the advantage.

I suspect new owners of PVB will be able to reserve when they purchase. I also suspect that your chances as a non-owner to be able to reserve last week of April to be slim since there is likley to be a delay before non-owners can reserve and they may be blocked out for the first few months after opening, e.g., they will either have a very short booking window or be allowed to reserve only at 7 months out.

Disney will wait until at least the end of the rescission period before they close but they won't make the buyer wait that long to make a reservation. If you purchase a resort directly from Disney you can book as soon as your points have been deposited in your account. That usually happens within a day or two of paying the deposit.

Since this is new construction, if you purchase a Unit that is not open for occupancy your first reservation using those points (no matter which resort you want to book) cannot begin any earlier than the occupancy date of the Unit you purchased.

for what I just saw in this thread, Disney DVD (YOU CAN KEEP THE BUNGALOWS ) there not worth it. I'm sure others will disagree but this is way too much.

All of the Units that will be used to support the initial sales will be completed and ready for occupancy on the opening date for PVB. Anyone buying a PVB deed will be able to use their points in the DVC system beginning April 1, 2015.

DVD declared 35 Residential Units for the DVC inventory. Tokelau will not be ready for occupancy on April 1, 2015, but DVD won't be needing to draw points from Tokelau's Residential Units to support the initial sales. By my preliminary estimations, this initial declaration should account for over 40% of PVB's 4+ million points, or roughly 1.75 million points. Even in Bob Iger's wildest dreams PVB will not sell 1.75 million points by the time Tokelau, Pago Pago, and the second half of the bungalows are ready for occupancy.

They would have understood that it would be a much better selling point to start lower.

However - these still seem very out of whack in the other direction. Of course at $160/pt property taxes are going to be going up there fast. And will probably encourage another good sized up tick at the older DVC properties.

Yeah slumming it....sure...:woohoo::yay::lmao:

I'll take "slumming" it at AKV over just about all of them :rolleyes1 but hey, that's just me:rotfl::woohoo::thumbsup2:lmao:

Talk about targeting an audience!!! With these prices/points charts/MF's, it certainly won't be us meager middle income folks!

Personally, I'd go for two studio's over the bungalows. It's just not worth those points to us.

Just to compare, a two bedroom lake view at GFV's in June is 66 points per night, and at Poly a Bungalow for the same time is 135 points per night. Seems crazy!

At first blush, yes. But then again the PVB bungalow is a free-standing, architecturally unique accommodation. There's a premium which is certainly justified, but just how much is up for debate.

We have 200 pts but it doesn't matter. We will not be staying there. The points are insane. Would love to own at the Poly, but it just doesn't 't make sense. Maybe DH and I will stay there a couple of nights in a studio, but never in a bungalow. I can't justify the points for one.

To me a premium is 20 points more per night not 200% more per night. I think the average owner owns something like 220 points. How many DVC owners can stay there more then a couple of nights. Maybe that is how DVC in visions their use.

:scared1::scared1:115 points per night????????????????? I was gonna do an add on of 50 pts at the poly because we were so intrigued by the bungalows but for $8000 to stay in a bungalow 1 night every 3 years is NUTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Ill slum it over at SSR and OKW with my current points for 2 weeks per year. OR I just need the right combination of 6 numbers in tonights Powerball and I will buy enough points to stay in a bungalow for Christmas that will cost about $230,240:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Heck with that .................If I win the lottery, I am just buying a nice spread at Golden Oaks ! :thumbsup2

OK, so if I add-on 50 points, then I can book a bungalow for a week over Christmas every...lets see...oh yes, every 29 years... so that will be in 2044 and I will be 94, thats if I am still breathing !!!

Now lets see...banking rules...can I bank for 28 years in a row ??? :lmao:
