putting on the flame-retardant suit!!!

Doesn't bother me at all! :confused3 I love the tips and any money saved means more money for Disney! :cool1:

You wouldn't believe how much we have saved toward our trip in just the last month because of people posting what might seem like OT deals.

I like all the great deals I find here.....people are not posting to line their own pockets...they are just sharing what good things have happened to them.

I do agree that we should try to make our topic title clear so that people can skip over them if they don't want to read them. That should be common coutesy on any board. So no flames here! :sunny:

I was going to through in my comment, I'm sure it's already been mentioned before but any budget related post helps us all save for future Disney spending. =o)

I have noticed the difference in this board from when I was planning our 2003 trip. I came to the conclusion that there just aren't that many discount codes, specials or new tips to use at Disney at this time. I think once the new disney ticketing system, transportation and hours get under way you will find that the dis board users will figure out ways to use the system or find the loop holes and then will share them on these boards.
I am really enjoying the new focus in just getting freebies and deals because a penny saved is a penny earned to spend at Disney. Peace.

This says how I feel. Way back when...........when I first joined the Dis, it wasn't like this. But it doesn't bother me in the slightest the way it is now. I figure the more money saved now, the more I can go to Disney.

I love the boards they way they are. I read the threads that interest me.

I have found wonderful deals on these boards that have either saved me money or gave me tips for things to purchase for my trips.
:goodvibes

I LOVE this board the way it is. We are not even planning a Disney vacation but I still drop in daily for money saving tips!!

Just don't open things that don't look like they are stuff you care about. (Works for me, I only read a few posts on any one board)

:sad2: Nope - doesn't bother me. I :lovestruc this board just the way it is.

I don't mind either. I thought the same thing initially but I grew to welcome peoples bargain posts which as someone stated, sooner or later becomes disney related. I couldn't complain about anyone posting Disney or Non-Disney related because I have gotten some terrific ideas.

I love the budget board for just that reason. It gives me money saving tips and codes for everything...
I thank everyone that I have gained information from......

Keep the tips and codes coming this way!!!!

I like it. I've used several tips found here and really appreciate that people have taken the time to share their finds with us. Anything you can do to save money throughout the year will mean more money for extras like Disney trips.

With the majority here also.

I LOVE this board, just the way it is. I love hearing about the great deals at WDW, as well as the princess costumes being on sale at Walmart, the free shipping code for JCPenny and sales at American Girl.

The other boards off the WDW codes and tons of disney info.

I have always felt more connected to this board, as a mom of 5, trying to stretch a dollar and have more money in the end for a great family vacation to Disney.

I love hearing about the deals elsewhere, as well as posting the sales/discounts, etc.

To be honest I would prefer if the budget subjects were more "disney" focused, but as others have said, I just wade thru the ones that don't interest me-I am more interested in disney savings, so I look for them.

I agree with all those who like the board the way it is. I think saving money is something that encompasses all areas of your life, not just vacation planning. If you learn to live a more thrifty lifestyle all around, then you can enjoy more special things like Disney trips. Yes, I want to hear about the good deals in Florida, but if I'm wasting money somewhere else, that's less money for the Disney trip.

Keep the great tips coming.

I'm not even in the process of planning a disney trip but I still visit this board everyday for "budgeting tips". You all have helped me save tons!!!

Actually I agree with you. I hate having to go thread after thread to find something that actually relates to Disney. This is a Disney board but I think that it would be a great addition if they added another general budget board.

Well, the name of the board is the Budget Board, not the Disney-only Budget Board so I don't see the fuss, but being that it is disboards.com I can understand where you're coming from.

The more money you save altogether means more money for Disney trips. Yes, there are other Budget/Frugality/Couponing boards out there, but I like it here... :earsgirl:

Oops...forgot to add... I think we would all become bored talking about only Disney budgeting because there is only so much saving for Disney trips you can do. I guess it's okay with the Administration here because the current policy is still in effect and no plans are being made to change it.

::yes:: I think that the board may become a bit monotinous if it was comprised only of threads about Savings Jars, Sometimes Codes, APs, Where to Find the Best Ticket Prices, and How to Save on Meals. (I think you get the idea. :) )

Someone PMed me about this subject a few weeks ago, and I told him that we have always been pretty casual about things here on the Budget Board. I told him that we felt, as many have already mentioned, that if we can save money in other ways, it would give us more money towards our Disney trips.

I hope that it will continue to stay that way, but if the WMs ever want us to be stricter about topics here, of course we will do what is asked of us. ::yes::
