Purses and family getting into them without permission? UPDATE!!!

I don't care but no one wants to look in there. They bring my purse to me.

That's what mine do!

My husband or boys will ask - "Can I have (gum, money for lunch, a lighter, a stamp) and I answer "Yeah, it's in my purse in (and give them directions on where exactly the item is)" - I end up with my purse on my lap, every time.

It actually bugs me more. Why can't they get whatever it is they wanted, out?

It cracks me up when DH comes walking over with my purse--just get whatever you need yourself, I don't know why he is afraid to go in there. LOL

My DH and my kids go in my purse whenever they want. It doesn't bother me a t all. They usually are just looking for gum because they know I always have it.

The kids ask if they need something out of my purse, usually money. DH will take money out and not tell me so I go to buy something and I am out of cash because he is afraid of technology and won't use the ATM . It isn't the going into the purse that bothers me so much as it is the not telling me I took the rest of your cash.

DH is another one who brings my purse to me so I have to drop what I'm doing to get whatever it is he is after. I always tell him just get what you're after, I'm busy! DD is more like the stealth. She would never take money or anything like that. She more likely steals my nail clippers or lip stick or tht type thing and then doesn't put whatever it is back so I have to go searching the next time I need it. It's just a minor irritation. I don't care that she goes in there to borrow things. I just want her to put things back where she found them.

DD19 has always been allowed to get into my purse, even after I caught her writing checks when she was 4.

DS22 has never wanted to get into my purse, but has added lots of things to it over the years when he was younger. It always weighed a ton because of the hot wheels and other toys he put in there for me.

DH does not get into my purse. It bugs me when he does, and he knows not to do it unless I expressly give him permission.

my dh's Idea of replacing my lip balm was to get a tube of chap stick at walmart for $1. "DH the lip balm is NOT a chap stick!!" Thank you.

So buy a replacement balm and give him the chap stick for when he next needs it. Alternatively, you could leave the chap stick in your purse. That way, he'll be able to find it easier.

Nope I resolved it by telling everyone that NO ONE is allowed in my purse and I keep in my room now. I will get another balm when i can though.

I would just keep a tinted lip balm (i.e. Burts Bees). Chances are he would want nothing to do with wearing it, but if he did you'd probably know it just by looking at him.

BTW, if my wife told me that I needed her permission to go into her purse to get something as innocuous as chap stick, I would wonder what she is trying to hide. Also, I would still go in there if I needed something.

UMMM first I wasn't talking about my dh thank you!!! How ever it was NOT chap stick it was a lip balm a very expensive one and it was NOT used for that at all, it was used for something else and my dh was not the one that did it! and besides why can't have ONE thing that is MINE???

OMG I sooo can not believe this!! I just got a package in the mail form the company that I bought the lip balm from and i won a contest I entered a while back and got THAT same lip balm free with a bunch of other goodies!!!

I so can't believe it!

Seriously, what did he need it for the inside of his shirt? That's the weirdest thing!! If he had really bad chapped lips I would have said to cut him some slack but the inside of his shirt....how odd.

I know it was weird which is why i was more upset if he had of used it on his lips. But even if he did he had to have kept putting it on and on and on till it was gone b/c there was quite a bit in there. It would have been VERY think on his lips.

No, you didn't overreact. I don't have anything really important in my purse (except license, etc.), but my boys know to stay out of it, and heaven help them if I find out they don't. DH won't get into it either, unless I ask him to, and then he complains about it. DH keeps the majority of whatever cash we have (we don't keep much) and if I need it, I tell him, I don't get it out of his wallet.
