I put a bag of Pupperoni in Max's Christmas stocking. He likes them a lot; I call them doggie Slim-Jims. On the back of the bag, the following is printed:
"Our Mission: Making the world a Pup-friendly Place!
Pup-Peroni celebrates and champions dogs and owners enjoying life together-anywhere, anytime."
"Because in a Pup-friendly world...
-There are no 'pets', only families and friends.
-Where you go, they go.
-There is no where dogs don't belong.
-There is no reason in the world to ever be apart."
Believe me, I totally do not agree with any of these statements. I enjoy time away from my messy hound and have no desire to bring him everywhere.
The same bag directs you to their website so you can check out their "efforts to make the world pup-friendly." It's at (obviously) pupperoni.com. I brought up the website; it's very cute, but there's no mention of any effort to make the whole world pup-friendly.
Anyhoo, I wonder if the makers of Pupperoni took some flack over these silly ideas and took down the part of their website that talks about it? I notice small dogs everywhere these days, and I don't agree with allowing it. I can only imagine how people who are allergic to or dislike canines feel about this topic.
