I was at my parents for the weekend and took my girls to the local pool. I was shocked at the price to get in!! It was $5.75 for an adult and $4 for kids!! I was so floored! My local pool is $2 for everyone and $1from 3-6pm.

What is your pool entry cost???

the pool by our house it $2.50 per child even babies and $5.50 for adults! crazy!! if we were to go it would cost us $18.50 and its only open from 1:30-6! so not worth it!

The pool by us is $10.

And it's just a pool (not olympic sized) and a kiddie pool, no playground or anything

There are play pools- about 2 feet deep with a playground in the middle that are $3 for kids and adults or the regular pools are $5.50 under 48 inches or $6.00 over 48 inches. They are only open 12-6 daily. None are actually in my town but are within 10 miles.

Well....

Our town doesn't have a public pool.

We have a public town beach at the lake. It costs $100 for an annual family membership or $5 per person/day. It is free after 4 PM and closes at Sunset.

If we wish we can use the public pool in the next town over (part of our regional school district). It is $200 for an annual family pass or $10 per person per day. If you have a family membership you can bring unlimited guests for $5 per person/day.

Of course we live close enough to Cape Cod that we can be at the beach in an hour and a state parks annual pass is $35/year which lets us bring a whole carload of people to any state park with a second car added on for $15/year. This gets us unlimited visits to all the state beaches. We're also getting a National Seashore Annual Pass which is $47/year.

Our public pool is $10.00 per person. It has a lazy river, water slides, playground water area, plus it has an inside area with the same. You are allowed to bring food and drinks in coolers, but it's still a bit spendy.

We don't have a public pool, but a pool that families can join for a fee ($500.00 for the summer if you don't live in the neighborhood, $200.00 if you do live in the immediate neighborhood).

We can bring guests with us for $5.00/person (child or adult).

Our city has lots of public pools - we get over 100 degrees regularly in the summer, and it's a way for many to cool down. We also have several "play pools" that are just a foot or two deep, and they are free.

Recreationally swimming hours have been cut back recently at many pools due to budget cuts, but 1-5pm Saturdays and Sundays are open at the pool we usually go to, which covers what we need. When we go, we rarely stay more than an hour or two, but I guess we can stay just a short time and not feel bad, given the reasonable cost.

We have couple public pools nearby - one of them, if you are a resident in the area, you can pay $10/person for a pool pass and swim all you want the whole season. The other one is $75 for a family of 5 for the whole season. Otherwise, both charges $2/adult and $1/child each time.

We don't have a public pool either, just a club that we join for the summer for a few hundred bucks! It is $10.00 (week day) per person over 2 years old and $12.00 per person on weekends and holidays.

Public pool? We've got the ocean just a city or two away, and we've got a YMCA, but no public pool.

Our town (about 100,000 people) does not have a town pool. We can join the municipal pool in a neighboring town for about $500 per family for the summer(non resident rate-if you live in that town it is about $300), if we bring guests it is $5 for adults or kids per day.

There are also private swim clubs that cost about the same for the season. You can't just go for the day--you have to join for the season.

Or I can drive about a half hour to the ocean, but we have to pay to go on the beach (I live in NJ) and it's $7 a person.

we have a couple of options...

we have our neighborhood pool in our community which is included in the HOA fees. It's a small pool with a jacuzzi but it's never crowded (we only have about 120 houses in the neighborhood and many are older adults....very few college/high school kids or little kids (unless you count grandkids)

we also have the Y right across the street which has a small indoor pool but its not an olympic sized pool...it's very tiny

We do have the athletic complex which has an outdoor lap/competition pool plus a dive pool and an outdoor activity pool which is zero entry and has a water slide....I dont remember how much it cost

indoor pools are not common in southern california...at least not where we are...everything is outside

No public pools here, but the ocean is no more than 15-20 mins away no matter where you are in the state. And ALL beaches are FREE! (state parks too!)

I do take the kids to the pools on the base though. Free for that too.

We have 5 public/town pools. A town card is $5.00 with proof of residency for 2 years, then you swim for free. Guests are $1.00 a day per guest (non-residents or those without a card).

We have the park district pools and, to the best of my knowledge, they're free. I haven't been to one in ages, though, so I can't say for sure and there's no information on the Chicago Park District website about charging for admission to the pools. That being said, I don't remember ever paying to enter a CPD pool. Suburban pools were another story, though.
