I just returned from my first trip as an adult, and of course also my first time using DDP. We were at WDW for 7 nights, so we had 7 table meals, 7 quick service meals, and 7 snacks each. I made reservations for 6 table service meals, as one of them was Cinderella's Royal Table, which took up two credits. When we were dining at our last meal, the server came by and asked if we were on the DDP. When he scanned my bracelet, he said that we didn't have any meals left! I rattled through all of of meals (our server was impressed that I had such a great memory) and he went off to talk with a manager about the problem.
While he was gone, we pulled our all of our meal receipts that we had kept and looked at the bottom where it shows how many credits you have left (for instance, if you eat a table service meal, it tells at the bottom how many table service credits are left, the same goes with quick service meals and snack credits). I had been monitoring our quick service meals and snack credits, since they weren't planned in advance, but I hadn't been paying attention to the bottom of the receipt of the table service meals. Sure enough, on our third day in the park (Epcot), it appeared that we lost a set of table credits! Our server called our resort and they finally figured out that it appeared that we had eaten at Akershus in Epcot twice in one day. Thankfully they were able to work it out and all was fine.
However, my PSA is to keep track of those receipts! Make sure you look at the bottom where it tells you how many credits you have left. Sadly, our last table service meal wasn't quite as fun as it should have been as I spent half of the meal waiting for them to work it out for us (and I KNEW I was correct and that we hadn't over spent our meal credits). Also, our server told us that at some restaurants when this happens, servers will make you pay for your meal and then go back to your resort to be reimbursed. I was thankful our server took care of it for us.
Overall, loved the DDP. I think next time I would try to pre-plan our quick service meals a little better, but all-in-all, I loved not having to think about paying for food while on our trip. Hope this helps someone!
