I've been using PSE5 for awhile, but would like to take it to the next level to create a presentation of our trip to WDW.

I can add music to a group of slides and save them in either PDF or WMV with basic canned transitions. How can this experience be enhanced? Are there Disney transitions to import? Like when TinkerBell flies onto the screen and her wand explodes into a transition to the next slide or segment. Can automation (gif) be added?

I like what I seen of others changing color to B&W -I'll use some of that.

Any ideas appreciated

ProShow Gold may do what you want. It has many canned transitions, accepts transparent GIFs as independent layers, and can use video clips as slides (to add a Tinkerbell transition).

Would it be possible to find true Disney animations to overlay/key and use as slide transitions?

Thinking Photoshop Premier Elements 4 is the logical step, seems to be comparable to ProShow Gold (at least to someone who has seen neither).

Unfortuantely, these animations would be copyrighted. Disney would probably not release them in order to protect the brand image.

Followup
Though still awaiting the Photopass CD, I have created an NTSC movie of my own MK pictures. I also included the introduction/ending video from a POTC movie, just the Castle rotating into view with fireworks and a single 'shooting star'. I'll work on clipping Tink from a Peter Pan movie.

I find Premier Elements easy to use and has 100+ transitions. Pan & Zoom is a bit daunting as it has many options and adjustments -right now I prefer PS Elements Pan & Zoom graphical interface. Surprised it took 180MBytes of pictures/video and the resulting movie is 780MBytes at the highest quality setting.
