I want to do just dessert at the Coral Reef. The last time we went there for dinner, I realized it's not worth the money. But, I do love seeing the marine life & I'm sure my older DS would love seeing it, too. Not to mention the Chocolate Wave....

Can I make a PS for just dessert? Is it tacky to do so?

Do I say I just want the PS to be for dessert, or do I just make a PS and when they bring the menus, tell the server we're just doing dessert?

I actually called Disney Dining to ask about this.

The CM said it's fine to go to any Disney restaurant, except V & A's, just for dessert, and she did say to let the podium and server know at the beginning, so that they know that a table won't be taken for as long as a full meal time.

We're going to do this several times while we're there. It's the only way we'll be able to go to all the restaurants I want in the 8 short days we'll be there!

Thank you for this answer, I have often wondered this myself!

We have gone for soup/dessert at Coral Reef many times. It's a nice break in the day and their Lobster Bisque is great.

Just an FYI, they recently changed their menu so some of the desserts have changed.

We went to Coral Reef for dessert two weeks ago. The desserts were good -- BUT -- we had terrible service. From the moment our server found out we were only there for dessert, she was rude and very absent. I posted earlier that she even rolled her eyes when we asked for drink refills. So, be prepared for possible bad treatment. Our family has decided not to go back -- it was that disappointing. (There are great desserts all over WDW.)
