Okay everyone here is another question. I made reservations for the Contemporary. What does everyone think of it. I will tell you now. I have a standard room not in the Tower so I know I wont have a view of the MK. I was considering changing reservations to the Polynesian. I would really value anyone's opinions whether good or bad regarding these two hotels. Is the Contemporary worth the price for a standard wing room? Or is it better to pay alittle extra to stay at the Poly.

Thanks in Advance.

I have not stayed at the C.R. since I was little. I am however booked into the Poly for Nov 15-22 FTP rate with my 4 1/2 year old and a newborn who will be 3 months old. The decision maker for me is that the Poly has a 0 depth entry pool and the C.R. does not. That way my 4 year old can go into the water by herself. We are still trying talk my hubby into coming, but he is not a Disney Freak like we are. Also I really like the tropical theme at the Poly. Of course the Arcade at the C.R. is great so it may depend on the ages of any children that may be with you. Good Luck and have fun.

Well, we had a view of MK from our standard room at CR. It was nice, we could see the fireworks right from our room.

We really liked CR. I've never stayed at Poly & have no desire to.

We have stayed at both. Price being equal, I would pick the Polynesian again (in fact, we are - and even paying more for it!). We stayed in a standard North Garden Wing room and Cont. and a garden view at Poly.
Highlights of the Cont.
Chef Mickey's is so close
Kids loved seeing the monorail go into the hotel
Ten minute walk to Magic Kingdom's front door

Hightlights of Poly:
The grounds are beautiful and more relaxing to me
The themed pool seems nicer
We still get monorail service
I like the theming of this resort better

The monorail access (we have small kids) is the biggest plus to both these resorts.

My goal (someday) is to have stayed in all the Disney resorts. All of them so far (5) have something I like about them.

Gina,
I like both resorts. We've stayed in the tower rooms and the wing rooms of the contemp (I think our last visit was the 8th timet). We have stayed at the Polynesian 3 times.
One aspect of the Contemp wing rooms that I never cared for was the long hike to get anywhere.
But, we signed up for the great SOG rates on the Wing rooms this past May. We were assigned a room that I would have never requested in a million years--parking lot view. It was a parking lot view, 2nd floor room. Guess what?! It was great! It was very convenient to get to our car, our view was really nice (space Mtn/Monorail) and we had a perfect view of the fireworks every night.

This the view from our Contemporary Wing room when we stayed for a week in July.
The trees did not obscure the fireworks!

Let's see, when we stayed at the Polynesian--it was concierge garden view Hawaii Longhouse. Tahiti--we were upgraded to a lagoon view, it was nice, but I wouldn't pay extra for it.

Our lagoon view at Tahiti--(we were at the far end and we could not see the Electric Water parade from our room--I don't know if the other rooms at the other end could see it or not...)

We have also stayed at the Rarotonga building (garden view) another time.

Anyway, I generally stay at the one which gives me the best price. They both have their own special points. :)
