Definitely do not laminate the original. If you wanted to make a copy and laminate that you can but if you ever actually needed to provide proof, that won't help very much. It may help buy you some good will but like a copy of a passport, it isn't the real thing.

Do not laminate your vaccination card. In the future there will most likely be booster shots and they will need to add that info to your card.

I agree. I found it funny that the nurse said, "Laminate the card and stick it in your passport." I was thinking, ummm, blank lines on here, not laminating it honey! I don't believe any proof of vaccination would be linked to your SSN, rather, it should somehow go onto the chip embedded in your passport. It will be so interesting to see how the system(s) for proof for international travel are rolled out. DH just booked a quick solo trip to Iceland to see the volcano. His paper CDC card is good enough for getting in now, but it will be interesting to see what the future holds. (All his Danish friends are asking if he's flying on to Denmark as a part of the trip and he's like, you know Americans aren't allowed in right now!)

As a natural cynic, I think those vaccine certificates will be too easy to fake. DH is over 65 and has gotten his 2 shots. I am younger and have not. We are supposed to head to St Lucia at the end of May, I am not sure what they will be requiring by then or if I will be able to get vaccinated.

I had a customer tell me the other day, he knows a guy who can make a fake vaccine certificate. It's easy for people who really want to, to get around it. It's like I always say, locks keep honest people out. Those that have the intent to get around the rules will find a way.
