Prom dress, where to buy one while on vacation?

Where can my daughter and I go to look for a prom dress while in Disney. April11th-17th.

Well, the Florida Mall or Millenia Mall may be your best bets. We have two outlet malls, but none of them have any places to get prom dresses- that I can recall.

We don't really have any specialty dress stores that have a large selection in stock near Disney.

Sorry I can't offer too much help, but I will try to think of something else.

This largely depends on how far you are willing to drive.

There are numerous high end boutiques for ladies that a girl would love to go shopping at for a prom dress in Orlando and neighboring Winter Park. Winter Park's Park Ave strip, about 10 mins from Downtown Orlando on 17-92, must have half-a-dozen such places. Downtown Orlando and Winter Park are a good 40 minute drive from WDW however. If you decide you are willing to travel I'll be glad to supply you with some names and numbers.

If you need to stay in the immediate WDW/Kissimmee area the Mall at Millenia has many stores to choose from. They have just about every store imaginable from Sony, Apple and Crate & Barrel, to Cartier, Tiffany's, Gucci, etc.

there is a new store in the Fl. Mall called Windsor, I believe, that has a ton of new prom dresses from the designer Nick V. from Project Runway.

Also there is a Macy's, Dilliards, Saks etc that might have some more options.

FYI--You might want to rethink and just buy it in NJ. The prices are the same at the chains and department stores, and in NJ you've got Loehmanns, nothing really like that around here. Plus you'll pay 7% sales tax here, and no sales tax in NJ.

If you go hunting in NJ, there's a Group USA store at the Jersey Gardens mall that has really nice dresses. I got a very nice formal gown for a wedding there for only $99 and they had many, many styles that would be prom appropriate. There is also a Windsor in Jersey Gardens that also has nice prom gowns.

There's apparently a really nice David's Bridal down there, too -- my mom likes to go in there -- and it has stuff you can't find at their other stores. You can do a search for the store location. It won't be cheap, but maybe you'll find something unique.

There are David's Bridals all over NJ, and no sales tax, plus you don't have to haul it home.
