~Project Runway Season Season 8 Thread Spoilers Welcome~

Oh my gosh was everybody watching Grey's last night?!

Kae

I watched the high fashion/ready to wear episode. I agreed with the bottom two for once, although I liked Micheal's design and didn't think he should have been in bottom until i saw the close up of the bottom of the HF dress. Still, I hated Gretchen's dresses and they were in the top so what do I know. I liked Andy's design as well. Interesting, still I think the extra half hour seems to drag things out more.......

The only design I liked was Mondo's ready to wear one so I'm glad he won. I think Ivy leaving was long overdue.

You know TASTE! :scared1:

Gretchen's dress looked like a rooster threw up on it!! It was HORRENDOUS!!! :scared:

I even hated the two dresses Heide wore last night, YUK!!!

Gretchen's high fashion dress looked like something Carol Brady would have worn...maybe Florence Henderson can borrow it for an appearance on Dancing with the Stars.

So glad to see Ivy go home, although I think her dresses were only the second worst.

I would never ever wear Andy's clothes, but his abilities amaze me. Do you think he had ever made pants that fit over a shoe like that, or did he figure it out on the fly? It's always so interesting that some people can barely get a simple dress constructed while others can get things like that done in the same amount of time.

I loved Mondo's line: When I came here I had $14 in my bank account. Now I have $20,014 in my bank account.

Bye Bye Ivy. I hate to say I like Gretchen's hair damn it:lmao: I am a huge Mondo fan now. Like I said before I think that resort challenge & then the next one made him relize he can follow the challenge concept I still keep stay true to himself. April, girl give us some color.

I know, April needs to realize colors other than black exist! Loved both of Mondo's-- so unique, but his ready to wear would do fabulously in stores. I would buy it to wear to work in a second. Sooo pulling for him for the ultimate win!
I also thought Gretchen's look was very 70's. Yuck. Not a fan. I thought her ability to handsew the feathers/beads was admirable, but other than that, there was nothing "high fashion" about that piece.

My jaw dropped when Gretchen was in the top. Ughh, that was hideous as is her personality. I really can't stand her which probably means she will win:lmao: Mondo is awesome. I will be unbelievably shallow right now but why the heck doesn't Valerie get that thing on her arm removed? I guess it doesn't bother her so why should it bother me...but it does:scared1:

:rolleyes:Last night was just awful. It was really sad to see that they gave the contestants loads of money and pretty much free reign to do what they wanted, and this is what we got?

I love Mondo and I'm rooting for him. His ready-to-wear was fantastic, but the judges even admitted that his couture dress needed work. I'm glad he's won 2 in a row now, but how sad is it when the winning dress isn't perfect? You know it's because everyone else dropped the ball.

I thought Andy should have won. I didn't care for his warrior chic couture look (too busy) but his stuff seemed the best executed and very original (the boot pant).

Gretchen's robe in the top 3? Are we being punked? Not only was it hideous and dated, but it looked like something an elderly (blind) woman would wear. They sent Casanova home for this - Gretchen gets top honors. What are the judges on? And I'm so tired of her running commentary during the runway show. She's not even whispering anymore so I'm sure the judges can hear her tooting her own horn about her side slits.

And what's with Gretchen accusing Michael C of stealing her color palette? Does April get mad everytime someone else buys black? His hip things did remind me of Peach's hip hankies from when she got eliminated.

Did anyone else think it was funny at the end when Valerie was telling Ivy, "I wish I could go home for you." Ivy just sat there and I bet she was thinking, "You should have volunteered to go home on the runway then."

I was thinking Mrs. Roper. It was awful.

I knew I had seen that "dress" before! :rotfl2:

Surely Gretchen being in the top three last night was more of the producers' manipulation to add drama. I truly hope the judges did not think it was really one of the best.

Granted, my knowledge of high fashion would not fill a thimble, but did any one else think Christopher's high fashion look was far too hideous for him to be safe?

I totally agree with everything you posted:thumbsup2

So GLAD Ivy is gone-cant stand her

I also think Andy should have won-that was an amazing outfit and very over the top-BUT Ms Klumm DID NOT like it and it IS her show;)

April-use some color
Gretchen-UGHHH!!!! Could NOT believe that was in Top 3

QUESTION_the designers seem VERY verbal as their designs walk the runway. I dont remember this in previous seasons-maybe they are just showing it more?:confused3

and so you don't think I am crazy. I meant I liked Gretchen's own hair, not what she did on her model.;)

All that Gauze wrapped around the models middle and butt-I cant believe a sarcastic comment was not made:lmao:

i was thinking the same thing. dd's comment was "mom, it looks like something someone's grandma would wear.....well, only if their grandma was a hippie":lmao:

i liked michael's too, until the close up of the bottom. that's one thing i realy like of this season's 90 minute format, you realy get to see more close-up's of the clothing than we did before.

ivy's?:scared1: the sewing on it was so terrible-the dark blue "waves" on the high end dress reminded me of the wedding shower game where you cover the bride in crepe or toilet paper to make a mock wedding gown:sad2:

I like her hair too-just hate her:rotfl2:

Last night was a real eye-opener how that can make the previews of a show seem very different from what happens.
Previews showing one crying in bathroom-comment about stealing a design and Timm "very upset"-led me to think they got rid of a designer for cheating.

(Which actually happened in Season 1 or 2 BTW)

I think that affirmed what the judges thought about Ivy...not a designer. It really showed who has a vision or point of view or whatever they call it and who doesn't. If you have free riegn and can't come up with anything original, that says a lot.

OMG-I know I'm real late to the party, but I never saw or heard of this show until this past weekend. Then DH and I went to the Chicago area to visit his Mom, and she said "Would you mind if I turn on this show, have you ever watched it? After the first few minutes, I was hooked! Now I'm going to go back and try to read 19 pages of information.
