Project Runway, season 6, official discussion thread.

I think this is the first show I'll be happy to watch on Lifetime. Maybe it is a start of the network trying to make itself more mainstream and watchable.

I know! I never watch Lifetime so I made sure i programed it on the DVR.

I too can't wait- it's my fave show! I put my Tim Gunn talking bobblehead on my desk at work to celebrate. :cool1:

Did anyone try to watch Bravo's PR rip-off show 'The Fashion Show' while waiting for PR? I tried, and it was really terrible- but I did watch every week to get my fix. It was such a blatant rip-off, but without Tim Gunn they just couldn't 'make it work'! :rotfl:

I watched it and really liked it. It was not PR IMO. I have to admit that I am a reality TV Junkie though ;)

I agree that there is only one Tim Gunn!

Should be interesting to see how this season is done, they've shown at Fashion Week but there were no designers introduced or anything.

I watched that show on Bravo and it was just bad, not even comparable.

I taped it, will try & watch it tonight. I enjoyed the show with the fan fav's. I really liked Uleys (sp??) clothes. I thought they were sofisticated. Chris really suprised me. The runway gown was awful, but the others were wonderful. They would really fit into to today's fashion. I thought Michael's were bland. Diane cracked me up. She kept putting her book to her mouth to cover her mouth. It looked like she was laughing.;)

Wow, interesting show!

I would have really liked to see what the eliminated player would have done next week. Yes, she was out there but her design was not that horrible, I thought. I did like the top of it by the neck. I thought it was interesting.

I thought they chose wrong imo. I did not like the unfinished nekkid dress. To me that was uglier. That neckline was super ugly. And there was no craft into the dress. The spacy chick at least put some time into making a design, even though it was horrid.

All the dresses were ick imo, but I know they will get better of course.;)

So did anyone catch the "model show" after? I had to go back and tape that. I have not watched it yet.

I think those are two entirely unrelated questions :umbrella: ;) but - yes, Project Runway has always been on Wednesdays until now; and, in response to this matter only, no, you're not crazy :teeth:

Oh yea. It is opposite my "Supernatual" with the Winchester boys. Lucky I have Uverse and I can tape/watch 4 shows at once.:thumbsup2

ITA they chose wrong, but IMO it should not have been the unfinished dress either. Yes, there are no excuses on PR as Heidi said, but a model being 5 inches off her measurements? That is not acceptable. The model would have been fired in the real world (and if anyone saw the model show after, which I foolishly stayed up to see, she was fired!) Although that smocking or whatever it was was not my taste, this guy does have talent.

The weird spacey woman would have been entertaining, plus I did not think her dress was all that bad! Although not red carpet, it was cute-ish.

I think that the purple and floral dress should have gone- that dress was a HOT MESS!!!!!! Also I thought the 40 year old man's dress was bad.

PS what about the 2 hour all star special? I was SO HAPPY to have santino back!!!!!! I love him. So i guess that the neck tatoo man (never could rember his name) got divorced huh? All in all I liked having the personalities back, but the fashion was underwhelming IMO.

PSS and the model show was not worth staying up and being extra tired this morning IMO. I have that on my DVR but will be taking it off, I think. I just don't really care about the models.

PSSS any 'Make me a Supermodel' fans? Did you notice on the all star special that montaha (sp) was the model for the heavy-set guy's red carpet look? I did a double take! It was like Bravo-realityshow incest!

It was weird having all the personalities we-the viewing public-know-but they didn't know each other. You could tell Santino was pissing off everone-and joking that Sweeet P looked old. What a jerk.

I wasn't wild about any of the Coleections-i liked individual things from various designers.

Now the NEW Show=

they should have kept the girl eliminated-she was interesting.

I also like the andogenous. "Michael Jackson" looking guy.

The guy with the naked dress-wow what a 1970's look he had there-blech.

Ironic that the guy who won the challenge is the only one that is self taught.

While I think that the nekkid dress guy should have gone, I do think the 2 that were up for elimination should have been purple dress vs nekkid dress.

I am kind of ticked they kicked off the spacey chick now that I think about it. Her stuff was crafted correctly even though ugly. The other 2 dress were sown improperly which is a bigger issue to me.

The back to the purple dress was very nice, so that is what saved her I think.

I really wanted the purple dress lady to get the boot. That thing was horrendous! It looked like a dress from the 80's that you'd see on a rack for $7.99 in Goodwill!

I think that Christopher's dress was absolutely beautiful. His model is gorgeous too.

On both shows last night (special edition and regular)......why is it that models just don't show up? How unprofessional!

I knew that the spacey girl was going to go as soon as they showed her doing handstands while the other designers were sketching. The clothes she was wearing were super weird, too. If anything, there should have been a double elimination of the bottom two.

IMO her worst fault was the "I don't sketch" outburst. That was painful to watch the reaction from the other designers - you could just see the "huh?" looks on their faces and body language. She did have more potential but I think they "auffed" the right person.

And isn't it a shame that Korto (sp) has no confidence in her designs - :lmao:
