Project Runway, season 6, official discussion thread.

I think Malvin deserved to go - enough with the "concept" clothes! At least they've gotten rid of the two weirdest designers. At least Mitchell had a good idea and a good design, even if he couldn't execute it well. I guess I haven't figured out why you need to be able to sew well to be a good designer. If you're a designer, you can hire someone to make the garment!

We will have to agree to disagree there.;) To me sewing basics should not even be in question here.

I wish Mitchell would have gone home first. I would have loved to see weird designs over something that was not sewed properly.

It's a shame because almost every fashion designer out there acts like those two did...

#2, What if a dress rips backstage? It happens. Do you have someone to hire then? No. Designers need to know how to sew.

If ever there was a challenge were a double auf seemed appropriate, it was yesterday. Gak! Neither of the bottom 2 deserved a second chance in my opinion. Malvin was so self absorbed and enchanted with himself he would never have been able to understand the challenge and think about a client well enough to produce something wearable. Mitchell can't sew. If I were stuck on a desert island with those two, I wouldn't have tan lines, cause I'd rather go nekkid than wear the banana leaf skirts they'd sew.

I LOVED the winning dress!

OMG!
What a surprising ending tonight!!!!

:scared1:;)

Wont say anything untill our west coast gals get to see it!

Ya think? It was deserved for the general reasons noted, but there WERE worse designs.

^^^ I completly agree it was such a shock, but I am happy with who went home. They deserved it.

I personally think that awful green "dress" was hideous. How could they think that was wearable???? Eww. I can't imagine neoprene clothing would be comfortable.

The loser deserved to go home. As for the winner, it was not my style but it was an avante garde challenge--meaning something off the wall. I thought there would be two winners-- a surfwear winner and the avante gard winner.

I wouldn't personally wear the neoprene, but that is something that embraced both tasks-surfers/water, and avante garde. I wouldn't be wearing a neon green neoprene dress somewhere, but I bet someone who truly surfs and is in the water all the time would.

There is a difference between Hollister "surfwear" and true "surfwear". Most real people wouldn't wear true "surfwear"-- trust me I steer away from any type of wet suit!

Well that was a weird episode.:sad2: Glad that Mitchell went home finally.

As far as picking that as the winning design, I think they were smoking crack.:lmao:

Actually, I thought not many of them looked like Beach wear??? There was just one that disrobed to show a swimsuit.

Mitchell's suit wasn't even SHOWN!
:rotfl:

I wish Mitchell's model got sent home instead of the one that did. She is really a b-witch.

Glad to see Mitchell go. I figured it would be his time since he said he wanted to be carried through the project by Ra'Mon. Then, when he let Ra'Mon talk for him on the runway, I knew his time on the show was going to be short.

As for the designer that picked Epperson to work with her, she needs to grow a pair. All she had to do was to stand up to Epperson instead of letting him walk all over her. It's funny to watch people with no management experience have to act as design managers... some can and some can't.

I just got to see this weeks episode Good riddance Mitchell! Holy Moly.....how on Earth can any one with self respect be glad that he can ride on someone else's work? I wanted him gone when he said that! I wsh his model was auf'ed as well.

I agree that he never should have been given a pass for not being able to sew or construct clothes. I really believe it is part of the job description.

Yeah, my DD was routing for Mitchell--he reminded her of a friend, I guess. But it didn't seem like he belonged there. Just not focused enough, or something.

Was I the only one "underwhelmed" by this weeks's designs?????

And the little boring suit that won? WTH???

:confused3

Nope, you are not the only one. Which is why I was pissed that they sent 2 good designers home over Mitchell & Qristyl.:sad2:

Yes, they were crazy out there but they did not even give them a chance. At least they had a concept and they could sew.

This season is very weird imo and frankly I am NOT understanding wth the judges are thinking. It really leaves a cloud for me with this season.

I agree, this season is just different. I am usually really good at spotting the designers, but I have been shaking my head.

Me too! I picked early the last two seasons. I did hear a quote from Christian (two seasons ago winner) saying he saw the final style show and nothing "wowed him"

Irina & Shirin should win. Middle Eastern beauties final 2 please Heidi :worship

Get the **** out, Epperson.

what I found so odd about the winning suit was that Heidi made such a big deal about the ****aliciousness of Epperson's dress, but had no issues with the rather vulgar bralessness of the grey top under the suit.

Over all I liked the suit and it stood out, I thought it was middle of the pack, not a winning design.

Please, bring back Michael Kors, I miss his prissy orange self, and I miss NYC.
