WTH were the judges thinking. Vincents better than BOTH Uli and Michaels. NO WAY!!! Innovative, not that I saw. Yes, the outfit had to be the best one his done so far
but, that's not saying much. I did not feel his outfit looked good on his client. It
did fit well, but I thought the cut and the material made her look stocky. I also did not like that collar. At first glance, with the color it was, it didn't read as collar; it read as skin. I've noticed when he uses a collar, it's usually just in the front - weird.
Anyway, I don't like his designs. They look like he's recycling them from things he designed in the 1970s and 80s. I have not seen any of his clothes from when he had his design business in the past, but my guess is that they looked the same as these.
And for the loser, while Roberts outfit was boring, to quote the judges, at least HE LISTENED to the client,
I think Robert had one of the hardest jobs. They were given conflicting instructions - listen to your client AND make something fashion forward that shows
you as a designer. His client was not very adventurous and he made what she felt comfortable in. So, the judges thought he should have used some prints - that wasn't what the client wanted.
I think his designs for dresses are often very good - the 'trash' dress was good and would have looked good on Barbie. I think though, designing for Barbie, he probably has a group of people that give him input on what they are looking for and then he designs something. My Dd and I have noticed he does very well in group situations.
unlike Jeffery, who darn well did what he darn well wanted. Hello, she asked for purple or green. Ok, the two colors don't mix well, but he could have found shades of either color to make an outfit with. But, noooo....I think he was just so ticked off about having to work with Angela's mother, that he wasn't going to really put forth the effort to make something SHE wanted, just good enough to get him by the judges. Which he did state in the show, not the exact words, but close enough. And to tell the woman, he didn't want her in his work space, RUDE JERK!
Oh well there is always next week.

He was rude and insulting to her (and unnecessarily too). When he was in the fabric store, he said that he could not really find any green. But when talking to Tim (where he knew the client could hear), he said dark green and deep purple did not go together at all (nothing like insulting your client's taste).
I agree he looked like was mostly ticked off at having to work with Angela's mom. I think he actually made the outfit ugly on purpose, but just good enough to not get voted off. If they were judged on how they worked with clients, he would have been gone.
