Project Runway - Season 3 Official Thread (SPOILERS!!!)

Yeah, his whole apology boiled down to "I'm sorry you had issues with me cheating by bringing in pattern books and leaving the apartment without permission to access the internet so that I could look up more patterns and now you have made me the laughing stock of the industry" Please dude, you SO brought it on yourself and I still say your butt should have hit the pavement the minute they realized your portfolio of woman's wear was nothing but photoshopped pictures of other designers models on the runway made to look like you sketched them. :sad2:

The sneaks off to the Internet really did it for me. There is WAY to much he could do there.

Cheater! :sad2:

Yeah, and then the "I'm a victim" apology. (He still had a chance there to show some credibility, but NO.)

I am glad Michael won. He is my favorite designer. I loved the coffee filter dress he did a few weeks ago.

And what is up with Angela? She really needs to go and soon. She sucks.

Each week I become a bigger fan of Michaels. Love his designs and he seems like such a good person.

I thought Angela's dress was beautiful! I was totally shocked.

Kane's was pretty, but predictable.

Glad Bradley went home. He was just in over his head.

What has happened to Robert?

I am so glad Michael won! I loved his outfit. She looked fierce and she is going to look great in that hair ad. I really liked Kayne's as well i was afraid he was going to rehash the "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" dress. He went with the nude underneath look and the gathering was really pretty. That wasn't a pageant dress. Laura did another oufit that she would wear. I was dissapointed by Jeffrey. I think I've seen that outfit in the lady marmalade video or was it Beyonce? I'm not kidding that looked really familiar. I wanted some crazy wedding dress or John Paul Gauthier themed craziness.

I thought this model selection was unfair to the models. It was totally dependent on chance and your name being pulled from a bag. Some of the models were paying attention. Specifically, Laura and Michael's models. They knew who was a good designer and they picked great icons for their designers.

Oh, Bradley...I don't know whether to laugh at you or cry for you. He is the worst Tresemme spokesperson ever. "I used some gel last night. I think it helped my hair."

Angela renamed the rosettes! Did anybody notice that? Her dress didn't look like it fit the model that well on top. It seemed too fussy for Audrey, even Audrey in 2006. Angela just needs to go.

Uli is starting to look like a one-trick pony to me. Same dress, different fabric.

Jeffrey and Vincent didn't update at all. J designed for Madonna circa 1989 and V designed for Twiggy circa 1968. Laura's didn't look updated either. It looked like something Katherine Hepburn would have worn. It was much nicer looking than Jeffrey and Vincent's outfits, though.

What is wrong, Robert? I know you can do much better than this. I really didn't expect Robert to miss the mark on Jackie O so much!

I don't think Alison knew who Farrah Fawcett was in the beginning. Her design was frumpy.

I did not like Kayne's Marilyn gown. It looked cheap and trashy to me but I'm not a fan of the black-mesh-over-nude-lining look. I think in a different fabric it would have worked.

I love Michael and want him in the top three! I laughed so hard at his "I'm not trying to be Captain Save a H*, as we say back in the projects" comment! Loved Diane Von Furstenburg's comment about how she wore hot pants and those were great hot pants! He knew his design wasn't working but instead of whining about it he figured out how to make it work. That shows great skill and maturity as a designer. His model is going to look great in the Tresemme ads.

Heidi wasn't wearing a diaper-dress tonight but she was working a milkmaid/Oktoberfest look.

Oh Robert, my dear Robert, what has happened????? You were my favorite and the last 2 weeks you have let me down. I loved how Nina said we believe in you talent. I did too, but now I wonder.....

Michael was DDs favorite from the first show. While I think he will be one of the final 3, I may have to leave my Robert and join the Michael team.

When I saw he had Jackie O, I was so excited because I knew it was something he could do well. WOW, that was so not Jackie O. What was with the belt?????? She would NEVER wear anything like that.

Michael NAILED Pam Greer I could really see her in that!

Why can't The Parsons School of Design buy some good sewing equipment? Every season all of the designers complain about the shotty equipment! :confused3

I think I wore Vincent's dress when I was in Kindergarten in 1968! :rotfl:

How funny is that? I was thinking the exact same thing, but about Laura. She just does not have any range. I like her designs, but I find them boring. She needs to think outside her box and be a little adventurous. And if I have to hear her say how she is an architect one more time, I think I'm gonna hurl!

I'm so glad Michael won last night! I didn't realize his was the coffee filter dress!! That was my favorite from that episode. He's been flying under the radar. I hope he makes the final 3! :thumbsup2

I am new to this thread so not sure if I missed this being asked, but......what the heck is all over Jeffrey's neck?????? Anyone else just want to slap him when he started quacking? ANNOYING!

I like Michael a lot - but I wish Robert would get his act together and get out of the bottom 2!

My sentiments, exactly! I def. would've worn Angela's dress! So pretty!!!

Kane's was v. good for Marilyn Monroe. He hit it on the head when he said it was like Marilyn Monroe and Gwen Stefani's love child. He picked the perfect "current icon" to help him design the dress. Gwen's like a rocker version of Marilyn!

I loved loved loved the shorts that Michael designed! I wear them. V. cute! Not too short, either. The model's butt certainly wasn't hanging out and they weren't skin tight. All the judges loved the shorts, too - esp. DVF! I thought his model looked v. much like Pam Grier in her outfit! Super job, super color, too!

Bradley cracked me up w/his comment about the L'Oreal tresseme hair gel ... saying he used it and he thinks his hair looks really good. And, I loved how he said "Cher. I don't know who she is. Maybe I better start paying more attention to celebrities." -- Uh, yeah b/c they're the ones buying your big ticket designer clothes! However, he was way off the mark on Cher! Why didn't his model offer more input? Maybe she didn't know who Cher was, either!? I'd have loved to see what Kane would've come up w/for Cher! Some sequined Bob Mackie-ish type design, I'm sure! The white pants would've worked if they fit in the crotch and if he added some Pucci-inspired fabric for a top w/ a long, flowing headband kind of thing. I guess I'm thinking something on the line of the Barbie Doll challenge winning outfit from last year!

I figured that Michael would totally nail the Jackie look and was surprised that he came off so boring. Didn't he originally have some blue fabric but borrowed the linen from Vince? Or am I remembering something that never happened?! If he had blue fabric, he should've stuck w/that! I was more into Michael's design than Vince's horrific Raggedy Ann doll looking outfit. That was a catastrophe! Robert didn't do a great job on the Madonna outfit. I thought it looked like Madonna circa 1989. No update there.

Since when was Farrah Fawcett a fashion icon? It was all about her hair, not her clothes!!! And, on the model end ... I agree that the drawing names from the hat was totally unfair!

I hope Uli stays for a long time b/c I love her accent and listening to her talk!

Also ... Jeffrey was totally right in the sewing machine fight.

And, Heidi was def. Oktoberfest Milkmaid Queen in that horrible outfit she wore. The braids only made it worse! The whole time I'm thinking "You're judging fashion and wearing *that* outfit!?!? Please!"

Love how DVF skewered Vince on the Twiggy comment "Twiggy's still alive, let's talk about her in the present tense!" (or something like that).

For you ...
What's that scribbling around Runway contestant Jeffrey Sebelia's neck? His son's name, tattooed with "a lot of swirly calligraphy," Sebelia tells Scoop. Eighteen-month-old Harrison Detroit "is the love of my life, so underneath it says, 'l'amor de la mia vita.'" And if that's not enough to impress little Harrison, how about the pain Dad endured? The eight-hour tattoo job, Sebelia says, was "brutal."

Was Twiggy a "fashion icon"??? I thought she was well known for being so thin and modelling. I didn't think she brought on some new fashion trend, unless being a stick was the trend.

Me too. :)

Didn't you just know that Michael was going to win last night's challenge? They gave him more face time than they have in any other week. I even woke my DH to tell him that I thought Michael was going to win because of that. DH wasn't impressed, though. I can't imagine why. :rotfl:

Bradley was just scary weird. The kind of guy you wouldn't want in the cublicle next to you. KWIM?

I thought rock n roll Jeffrey would have done a better job designing for Madonna. She's turned into a more sophisticated trashy person than when she was just plain trashy in the late 80's.

I liked Laura's design. I thought it was very wearable, although I do agree with others that she is a one-trick pony.

Angela's surprised me. While pretty, I wouldn't have thought "Audrey Hepburn" when I looked at it.

I think I also had Vince's dress when I was 6 years old. What were our parents thinking!?!

I've been a huge Michael fan since the first challenge. I hope he wins. He has such great talent.

Good show. I am glad that michael won. Angela's dress was much better than her earlier creations. I do not like her but she has some talent.

I love that Michael had to take a moment to call his mom. That was a great show of fashion sense to re-work the bottom of his outfit. His model scored big for him and pulled it off.

Bye bye Bradley, he has overstayed his welcome. I don't know, I still picture him sewing flannel shirts in his cabin. Who the heck doesn't know who Cher is?? When I saw that he purchased not one piece of glitz and glitter, I knew he didn't have a chance.

I think everyone on this thread could have predicted that Laura would sew a wide leg, cuffed pant and match it with a sweater when her model chose Katherine Hepburn. Laura's clothes are classic and I'd wear anything that she's made so far, but I'd like to see her challenged.

Wow, total role reversal in the past two episodes between Robert & Angela. He is going down a slippery slope, while she's finally making it happen. I think self-doubt is a killer in the fashion business. He had a beautiful fabric picked out at Mood and ended up with Vincents crappy linen. The whole outfit looked so wrong when the model came down the runway. I hope he can turn it around next week, otherwise he can fall into the same trap as Nick from last season and we'll be saying goodbye to him too.

I am so glad Michael got alot of camera time! I really like Michael. Michal and Kane are among my favorites.
