We will be in WDW in September and while we are there my son will be turning 3. I really would like to do "3 year old pictures" that capture the essence of a little boy that loves Disney! Maybe a little artistic - not just your run of the mill snapshots. I have read Disney does this, but I can't find any information where they do it at the Magic Kingdom, I also understand this is against Disney policy. But, we all know it happens :) If anyone has any information on anyone that does pictures in the Magic Kingdom that would be great!

1) If you want professional photos, it is $350 by Disney photogs.
. . . MK can be done for a surcharge
. . . a standard set of phots are included
. . . any portraitrs are extra, and can be mega-bucks
2) Outside photogs are against policy, and few would risk doing it.
3) Check: http://www.disneyeventphotography.com/portraits/

I do know if is Disney (lol) but, $350 plus a surcharge, that is a little much. I know a local photographer that is traveling with a few students to do "Disney senior portraits" so, I figured that there possibly were local photogs - I just know it is definitely is not advertised.

I actually like the "mini" session that they offer for $150. It would be at one of the listed resorts, but I think those can be more "in the moment" and "artistic"

There are galleries on the website for ideas. Check it out :goodvibes
For a three year old boy, the AoA would be super adorable! He could be playing and interacting with the themeing (nemo/cars)... just so many great possibilities!

I have not seen this! Not sure how I missed it! But, yes! $150 and you get the pictures is so much better :) I am definitely going to look into this! Does anyone out there have photos they would like to share?! I would love to see! They have some on the site but not many :) If anyone has done this I would love to see pictures :)

I recently contacted them and was told that there were NO photos done at MK except wedding photos. Only EPCOT and HS were offered for parks, and all resorts. Local photographers were not allowed to do this at all, only Disney photographers (unless of course they sneak around to do them).

Local photographers are allowed to shoot in the parks - we have a shoot booked with an external photographer for September!

As far as it was explained to us, very few external photographers have permission to do in-park shoots and even if they do have permission, they are only allowed to do very limited numbers of shoots per year. The one we chose is allowed to do five - we were her fifth for this year.

I can't comment upon Disney Event Photography as we chose not to go with them, the style doesn't really fit us. But, shoots with external photographers are pricey, $1000+ depending upon the number of hours you need in the parks.

Photopass Photographers (may or may not be professionals) take portraits at Castle Couture, the store behind the castle. This is where the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Protraits are taken. Priority is given to BBB patrons, but anyone can wait. The photos are part of PhotoPass, so it is included with Memory Maker or Photo Pass archive CD.

We usually go every year! I am very interested in this! Maybe we could work something out for next year. Could you give me the name of the person you are using?

We did the shoot in epcot this past March for 350 and if you buy the cd before your shoot its 100 dollars and after its 150. I think it was worth it for us. We had mike and Kyle and they were very nice. If your dvc 20% off shoot unless they changed it.

We did the Mini session at the Polynesian. I love the pictures. She was fantastic. I wish I could post then, but don't know how.

So, honestly is 20 minutes long enough to get a couple of good shots of a 3 year old? Or do you think we should just budget for the 60 minute shoot?

We've done the 20 minute session twice with my kids. Once when my DD was 3 and my DS was 2 and once when DD was 4 and DS was 3. 20 minutes was about the limit for them but we got loads of great shots of them and all of us. We did both shoots at the Beach Club.

We also did the mini session at Poly, but it was back in 2009. We got it on special for $25 (when the normal price was $75). That was quite the bargain. We loved how our pictures turned out.

Here are a few

I know it is "cliche" but I really want Magic Kingdom pictures. I just feel with his age and what he is into at the moment, that will fit the best :) I am not sure exactly what to do. I have a DSLR camera - I may just attempt this myself :)

We spoke to about eight or nine photographers, and of those only two were allowed to in-park shoots. They were both pretty big and well known photographers, and I believe both used to be Disney photographers - maybe that's how they got permission?

But it's definitely not clandestine, they both advertise their shoots publicly and their photos are ALL over their own websites, blogs, social media sites and on Pinterest.

Will PM you with the details now :)

I would do a search on the internet for some photo ideas at MK...I bet you will be able to get some really great shots yourself if you have your heart set on MK. Photos with the characters are always great ones too...especially the non-posey kind where you can catch their actual interactions.

Another thing to consider is that if you get the mini-session at the Poly and/or Grand Floridian...you can get the castle in some of your shots. I noticed this on the website and thought it was something that gave those resorts an edge over some of the others.

I booked an enhanced photo session for my Maternity photos in September. I would have loved MK but since that wasn't offered I chose Epcot. I did ask though about how to "Disney Up" the pictures and they had some great suggestions about getting Mickey balloons, mickey ear hats, etc. I decided to go with the enhanced photo session because I wanted to be in a Disney park and I wanted the extra time for lots of different shots. I also pre-purchased a photo CD with all the images on it for $100 so that I will have copies of all the images and the freedom to print as many as I want.

I did get to do a shoot with Disney Event Photography back in 2007 at the MK...but that was when we were there for my parent vow renewal. It was a lot of fun and we got some very special pictures...but honestly I think a lot of what we got is stuff we could have done ourselves if we had one extra person to take those group shots. I'm sure if you just decide to take some photos yourself that you will end up with some wonderful ones. Just make sure you set aside time specifically for taking photos as opposed to trying to fit them in while rushing from one ride to the next.

Have a great trip and good luck with the photos!

I recently looked into this as my daughter would like to get some of her senior pics down at Disney. We have a good friend that works at the Boardwalk and her son is one of DD's best friends so she wants him in a couple of the pics. She was hoping to do the Boardwalk and EPCOT but if they have to go two different places it is two $350 charges. You can book up to a year out. Just a heads up. She has chosen EPCOT so there will be a pic in each of the countries. Should be pretty neat:cloud9:
