Products you've loved and lost

Spatini spices!!!! They were these packets of spices you could add to your own tomato paste, to make spaghetti sauce. I loved these spices since they were completely ground up - no chunks or "green things", it was a nice even powder. I am a super picky eater and using Spatini spices with a can of Hunt's tomato paste is the ONLY way I can eat spaghetti!

Sadly of course it was discontinued and I never found another product even remotely similar. I went on Ebay and bought 6 bags of the stuff (still have 4 left) but I will never eat spaghetti again after I use it all up!!!

I never found one single kind of tomato sauce in a jar that wasn't filled with chunks of stuff and spices galore. I want it plain and smooth, but nope - no one will make such a boring product. :sad2:

The other product I miss - Quaker Corn Bran cereal. There is a product called Puffins cereal which is similar but just isn't the same. :guilty:

Love's "Rain" Soft perfume... that was always my favorite perfume. I don't care for the Baby Soft, but sure wish I could find the Rain.

Kraft "Roasted Garlic" BBQ sauce

Lipton "Garlic and Herb" dry soup mix

The abovementioned Foil Bags

I saw the Kraft Roasted Garlic BBQ sauce at Gabriel Brothers (a closeout type store in Maryland) just the other day. Try checking any Big Lots or closeout stores around you.

Rice Krispie Treats cereal...that was soo good. I haven't seen it in forever and I don't see it on the website so it must be gone. :(

It's hard to find, but it's still out there. The only store in our town that carries it is Wal-Mart. Keep looking! :thumbsup2

I saw it today at Meijer! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I will have to check at my Meijer. Someone on facebook said they were eating it and I said I didn't know they still made it so I was still wondering a bit. So thanks for the hope!!! :lmao:

Downey Advanced - best fabric softener ever. And you could use it with cloth diapers.

Also, B&BW with cucumber and kiwi - loved that stuff - always reminds me of our first trip to WDW

Pearberry scented soap from Bath & Body Works.

The dish soap sheets (Palmolive) they were great for camping and vacation.

Vanilla Creme Chocolate pop tarts - these were my favorite!! I miss them so much.

Pepermint hand soap from Bath & Body Works

I loved that stuff! Actually what I loved was called "Twisted Peppermint" and it was sold at Christmas time. I used to stock up in the after holiday sales!!! Last year is the first year I've seen them not release it.

Thanks so much for the info!! That would be awesome...

If only the closest Big Lots weren't 2 hours away. SIGH. The only "closeout" type store we have is the Dollar Tree. Next time I am down in Missoula I will definitely have to check it out!!

Sucks living way out in the boonies. :sad2:

They had it last year! My family all knows my addiction to it, so they give me a stockpile every Christmas! (Check on Ebay, too. I've been able to find it there when my stash runs out)

Shower Soothers. I don't know if they've been discontinued, but I can't find them anywhere around me.
They were these little things you put in the floor of your shower that released strong decongestant aromas when hit with warm water. It was the best remedy for a really stuffy nose!

I just bought them last week in Walmart.

My daughter misses Chocolate Pillsbury Toaster Struedel - she ate it for breakfast almost everyday for 2 years then they discontinued it!!

Pacquin Hand Cream - I have used it for 50 years! The only thing that worked on my dry skin. I think it was the lanolin and glycerin in it, so I have since found one called Plexo. It's ok, but not exactly the same.

Albuterol inhalers for asthma - they discontinued their original inhaler because its propellant was not good for the ozone layer???? Well, the new device does not work nearly as well. Darn those asthmatics for ruining the ozone layer .

Sensitive Eyes contact lens cleaner and soaking solution by Bausch and Lomb - discontinued. Now I have to find something else because my eyes don't like the Boston products.

Drixoral allergy tabs. The only thing that would help DS's allergy that led to asthma attacks for which he now can't get good inhalers (see above)

R.I.P. Maybelline Illegal Lengths mascara. :littleangel: I haven't found a replacement that costs under $30 since its demise 4 years ago.

I also miss Michelina's frozen Black Bean and Rice Chili. I was addicted to that stuff.

Contact solution--I can't use any Baush and Lomb products but I have no problems at all with the Optifree stuff. It's worth a try.

I agree about the albuterol too-what a SILLY thing to do.

Have you tried Walgreens? Walmart doesn't seem to carry them any more but we got some at walgreens last week.

Edit: D'oh. They aren't on vicks' website anymore so they must be discontinued.

Oh, I know. The new ones don't work half as well as the old ones.

O'Grady Augratin Chips. 1-2-3 Jell-o, California coolers.

I have the rigid, gas permeable lenses. I think Optifree is for soft lenses, right? So I need a new kind for the RGPs. Of course, when I did find out Sensitive Eyes was being discontinued, I managed to order about a year's worth from a place online. But at the end of the year I will need something else. I will take any suggestions ;).

I have soft contacts so I guess that is what they are for. I didn't know you needed something different for gas permeable.
