Products you can't find anymore

"... and never, never, never let you forget you're a man. I'm a woman. Enjoli." :teeth:

YEAH! That's it! My cousins & I would sing that commercial & think we were just all that.

I did recently find something I used as a pre-teen - maybe it's been around the whole time but I just never noticed - Queen Helene's Mint Julep face mask! It's green & thick like clay but it cleans out your pores just like it did in 1979!

There was a thread on this maybe a year or so ago--not sure if the thread was specifically about this product or it came up in one but a lot of people use this.

I miss that little bottle of iodine (is that what it was called?). It's that little bottle of redish stuff with the stick in it so if you cut yourself, your mom put on the red stuff.

That was not iodine....it was mercurochrome or mathialade...I KNOW those are not spelled correctly but close enough. One wouuld burn like crazy and the other one did not.

Mmmm....Marathon Bar?

I think the thing MomofKatie is describing is a CurlyWurly??? We get them in the UK all of the time.

CurlyWurly is the same as a Marathon bar. I was thrilled beyond all reason when a "Dis"er turned me onto CurlyWurlys. Heavenly!!!

YES! Marathon Bar- it was advertised as being so long, it would take a long time to eat it (that sounds kinda dirty...).

CurlyWurly, you say? I'll have to look for it the next time we are at Epcot. We also have a few good European grocery stores here- maybe they have them, too.

Pre-soaped disposable wash cloths for babies. Huggies and Johnson's made them about 3 years ago and now I can't find them anywhere! I know, I know, they aren't "green," but they were so convenient to pack for trips. We still have a few left from a pack I kept at my mother's house, after that they are gone!

I just checked on Amazon and they have them.

I don't know...I bought store brand (CVS) Excedrin and it just doesn't work on my headaches like Excedrin does. Maybe it's all psychological!!

I wish they had Vioxx still available! That was the wonder drug but caused heart problems so it's gone.

Geez, I sound like a hypochondriac...I am glad my movie theater is selling Sno-Caps again  and I really miss the Gap Reverse Fit jeans.

It's not all psychological according to my internist.

My doctor actually told me there is sometimes a difference. If you check the inert ingredients, some have unique interactions with the active ingredients causing the generic to behave differently in your body.

BTW vet told me the same thing about a dog med called Atopica. The generic is different. Something about time released products that doesn't translate the same way into a formula without the same inert ingredients.

My BF and I were just trying to figure out the short name it was called back in the 60's. Thank you for correcting me as I didn't think Iodine sounded right. We didn't have all the ointments back then, it was always that redish or purple little bottle. I just did a search and see they banned it due to it having mercury in it.

I haven't read this whole thread, so I don't know if it's already been mentioned. . .but the Today Sponges. I almost had a nervous break down when they took them off the market!!! :faint:

I did run around to all the stores that still had some on the shelves and stocked up ala Elaine on Seinfeld. Hmmmmm. . .is he sponge worthy? But alas those are all gone many moons ago. I still miss them. :(

Dove face cloths. The ones you wet then washed your wash with.

I was going to say the same thing-Dove is a gentle cleaner that would be just fine for babies. Our kids have these and use them when they stay over night places, etc.

Today has been back on the market for a few years now :) Check your local drugstore!

Cornsilk face powder (I can find it now & then on eBay)

Windex Multi Purpose Antibacterial - the yellow one, not the white vinegar one (I can stil find that one!)

I just bought Mrs. Grass's dry soup mix (with the nugget!) in the box last month at Giant grocery store. I'll have to check if it's still on the shelves when I go back next week!

How about Love's Baby Soft, Jean Nate bath splash (was that in a huge yellow bottle?) and Enjoli perfume...."I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan..." how did that go???

TaraPA - I found Love's Baby Soft at a CVS in Bethlehem. I've bought several bottles (they have the body spray, too). I love that stuff and I'm so afraid if I don't buy it everytime I go there, it'll be gone again!

OMG! My kids were just talking about our clown the other day!! Someone gave him to us when my kids were little and they loved running under his hat to see if they could interrupt the stream of water and have the hat stay on. LOL....good times.

I think we're going to have to make a trip into the garage attic to see if he's still there. Finding him would be a hoot!

Have you tried Amazon? That's the only place that I can find Quisp - the greatest cereal ever invented, BTW!

My Target has just started carrying Quisp...in the old fashioned box and everything!
