Has anyone had problems with the Online Disney reservations? I booked our vacation online at the Disney website last December for this December's vacation. We are to arrive on 12/23/03 and stay until 01/04/04. We called All Star Sports to notify them that we would have a late check in around 10:00 and was told that we did not have a reservation. The reservation is paid in full and I have already received my vouchers. We were transferred to Central Reservations and Janet assisted us. She searched for I know at least 15 minutes and could not find us in the computer for this time.

By now, my husband was freaking out. She stated that Disney Reservations had a new system and that there had been some bugs in it. Apparently, when you book online, Disney does not actually handle the reservation, a company is subcontracted to handle it or something like that. She said that there system and the new Disney system was not talking very well. She had to hold for that company while we held for her. They actually had to send her the file by email and then she had to download it into her system.

Well this took over an hour on the phone long-distance of course. We did not get any compensation for this. My husband was disgusted about the problem but relieved that the reservation was found. Janet made the comment that she wondered how many more files had not transferred.

Word of warning if you booked online, be sure that your reservation can be found. Let me know if you have had any problems.

Talk to you guys later.

By now, my husband was freaking out.

Hi jinicraver! I've never booked on-line, so I have no experience with that. I'm bumping this up in hopes that someone can help you with your frustrations. Have a great trip! :)

I usually call them directly. Last month went with DU and they messed up my ressies also.

Did you have a written confirmation?

Booking problems at the All Stars/Pop Century should be the easiest to fix. Disney has to put you somewhere on site at no extra charge, and all other locations are upgrades.

At check in (or at a park guest relations booth) ask for a complimentary something (extra fast pases for the entire family? an extra souvenir?) to make up for the long distance bill.

Yeah, I even had the paid in full confirmation letter along with the vouchers for all of the special features with our package. We didn't think there was a problem until we called to let them know of our late checkin. All of a sudden no one had heard our name before. I have to say that the final lady, Jenna Dean, was superior with the information. She would not hang up until it was fixed. I am just very concerned that a lot of people are going to be in this situation.

But I can't wait. We leave tomorrow.

I booked online and confirmed the reservations last week for our trip this week.. they came through alright.

I think part of the problem might have been that you called the hotel to confirm the reservations.. the hotel doesn't have your reservations regardless of how you booked them until a couple of days before your trip. Until then, the reservations are kept with Disney's CRO (Central Reservations Office).. that's who I confirmed everything with.

Well your right that that is where we started the reservation search but when we were transferred to the CRO. They couldn't find them either. It took us that hour on the phone before everything could be located and set back up. I really do hope that this is an isolated event but just wanted everyone to make sure that your online reservation is okay.

See everyone there.

We will be there 12/23/03 to 01/04/04.

Happy Holiday everyone.

I've booked online three times w/o any problems ... hopefully this was just an isolated incident.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

We booked through AAA travel (they in turn booked through WD Travel) had hotel voucher, confirmation letter etc when we arrived at POR. The CM looked in the computer and very calmly said that she did not see a res for us. Then just looked at us. UUUMMMM, I said, here is the confirmation number and voucher, the trip has been PIF!!!! Well 45 minutes later after she made a phone call to CRO, the res did not download from their system and a discussion with the supervisor they were able to recreate the res and pull together all the extra's (mini golf tickets, etc) that should have been waiting for us. Now we also had faxed a room request for Magnolia Terrace, but now no rooms available, and felt foolish saying that we had also noted on our reservation that it was our 10th anniversary. I had hoped they might have a signed mickey picture waiting when we arrived, would have been so magical. Anyway felt ridiculous saying it in person, like we were asking for something! When we returned after our day out (2nd day there) there was a signed photo waiting in our room.

Anyway, when computers are involved, guess anything can happen.

That is exactly what happened to us but it did all work out in the end. We just got back and had a great time. The weather was nice. Hope your trip went well too.

Glad to hear everything worked out and that you had a great time! Appreciate the heads-up re: reservations--if we stay at a Resort this year, I will make sure we have all our ducks in a row before we leave home!
