OK, I'm not actually getting married at the minute- although my husband did agree to a WDW escape vow renewal in another 7 years (gosh 20 goes by fast). However, I have a really odd question to ask but need to give a tiny bit of backstory.

My DD (11) has PDD-NOS which is at the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. She LOVES all things princess, and spends hours planning her future hypothetical WDW wedding- she watches Disney Dream weddings (I think that's the title, the one with David Tuterra?) and Disney Royal treatment with bride Katie over, and over, and over-

now for the weird question (I know, ya thought I would never get to it, huh?)

Caitie would love to just see even the outside door of Francks; we're doing a girls only trip in Nov., and I was wondering if that might even be possible- I don't know if it's restricted access or anything. I wouldn't take her inside- because I wouldn't want to disturb any brides that might be there- but I have been pondering whether I might be able to swing a drive by- just so she can say she knows where it is for when the time comes for her.

I promise I'm not actually certifiable, it's just a dream of hers, and if I can make it come true without actually inconveniencing anyone else, it would be fun.

TIA

I honestly don't see why you can't, Francks is open to all. I'm pretty sure that if you explain that to the cast members they will be more than understanding. I can imagine how happy she will be! :woohoo:
I hope you have a lovely time!

Thank you so much for your reply- and Congrats on your upcoming wedding; wow, with 5 days I can only imagine how excited you must be. Sending wishes that your marriage is even more fabulous then your wedding will be.

Thank you so much for sharing this story! Your daughter sounds like an absolute Sweetheart!

My Daddy has been taking me for pics at the WP since I was a pre-teen :) I have mutiple pics of me with the Wedding Pavilion in the background. You can definitely walk up to the door (unless there is an event taking place, etc). I would go around 6pm ish because that is the time we usually go and they leave the Wedding Pavilion gate open until after that time, depending on what is going on :) Typically, we walk over after dinner at the Polynesian. It's about a 10-15 min. walk but it goes by fast with the WP in the distance!

I would actually contact Disney about putting together a mini-tour for your daughter. Franck's is actually just a show room, not the real office, but if you explained the situation to a cast member (email, phone calls, etc) sharing your daughter's story, you might be surprised at what magical strings they could pull for you! You never know until you ask!

By the way... I am a future intervention specialist (I am graduating in 2012) and my heart is absolutely warmed by your post. You sound like a wonderful mother, and your daughter is blessed to have you!

These are pics of Franck's and the WP that I took two weeks ago when we were there... sorry they are so dark! We went after a late dinner! :) Just wanted to show you how close you can get! :)

I took this one through the window... LOL

This is a shot of the Wedding Pavilion... They actually had the gates closed right before we got there so of course, I stuck my camera through them...

This is the view of the Wedding Pavilion from the beach... (my traditional picture!) That is my prince and I!

Thank you so much for your kind words :lovestruc
We are very excited and can't wait. Now that we are so close it seems like days are taking ages to pass.
I know that your daughter will be very happy, she sounds like a total sweetheart. Best wishes to you and your family.

I don't see why you couldn't tour the place. You can go to the Wedding Pavilion if there isn't any weddings taking place and you can most definitly go into Francks and look around inside too!! :goodvibes

Like everyone says you can definitely just walk on up and peek in! Keep in mind that there might be a rehearsal in progress in the pavilion - it should say on the event board if there were- we were a slight bit disheartened that people were wandering around immediately before and after our rehearsal. It was our first time in there!  but I'm sure you can see and check out quite a bit! Have fun!

Thank you so much for your very kind words and supportive comments- I really appreciate y'all taking the time to answer:love:
Particular thanks to princessAriel- these pics are soooo inspiring!!

I hope you are able to get a tour for your sweet daughter! Your story warmed my heart too, I also have a little one with PDD-NOS (more towards the aspergers end of the spectrum) so I know how it is when they take interest in something. How sweet of you wanting to make her dream come true :lovestruc

I would contact someone at Franck's and set up an appointment for a little tour of Franck's and the WP. It would make it a bit more special for your daughter. Just call and explain your situation and your daughter dream.

As a past cast member I know that they will make her dream come true. I am currently a teacher in a school for special needs children, I have 6 boys in my class all on the spectrum. Children on the spectrum hold a special place in my heart. Your daughter deserves to have her dream come true.

You're a great mom. :goodvibes

When I went to the WP before our rehearsal Francks was locked up, with a "By Appointments Only" sign on the door, so if you want to get in there I'd try and organise a tour beforehand. However the WP is always open, and it's only if something is going on that you can't get access to it.

:bride:

If you're not able to officially schedule a visit, I suggest going there when it first opens, around 9am. Weddings do not start til 10am, so you won't have to worry about being denied access.

Great ideas and info - thank y'all sooo much!
We are super early risers so the 9am thing could work well... I'm just nervous at the thought off calling them because I'm afraid they will think it's really foolish or worse :). But you've given me courage, so I may just do it- I suppose the worst that could haPpen is they ban us for life, right? JK, I'm sure it will be fine, and if they say no, we're no worse of than if we didn't ask in the first place :)
