Right but if there is a standoff, then someone has to have the final say. Who gets it if they cannot agree? You cannot force people to agree, can you?
And why should a man get an equal say in what happens to a woman's body?
Why should a man get an equal say in what happens to a woman's body? Because, in the terms of a fetus/child, the male helped to create it. His sperm 'mated' with the egg..and, voila, creationism, at it's best. It takes two to create a child. Why shouldn't he get a say in the case of abortion, the case of something HE helped create?
And as for the first question...as I said, there's no sure way of knowing how that situation would turn out.
Its okay to have an opinion that does not pan out in reality, but then just say so, ie "in a perfect world the man and woman would come to a mutual decision."
So, what, only one opinion is acceptable? If and only if it pans out based on...who's view? And I'm not expecting a perfect world, so why would I say that?
And I'm not trying to debunk it, I just don't see how you can have complete equality in this decision.
Psst, I never said you were debunking my view.

I never said it was about equality, but an equal opportunity, an equal say. It's more about having a say over standing to the side.
