I find this sentence amazingly ironic. You might want to take a look at the social science studies on rape. They tend to find that women being seen as and assigned the role of "gatekeepers" is actually a large contributor to the problem of rape.

The slippery slope of equating this with murder cannot be justified because there is no consensus of when life begins. Some believe at conception, some believe at 20 weeks, some at birth. Some don't feel a blastula is life, some do.

With murder, there is absolutely no argument that a life was taken.

Since there are still so many beliefs out there, I remain pro-CHOICE.

The choice must be made within the person according to her beliefs, her religion if she has one, her experiences, her circumstances.

This should not be a choice of the government, but a choice of the human being.

Besides, I really don't want to go back to the days of back alleys and hangers. Outlawing abortions will NOT stop them. It will only kill more women due to sepsis, maiming and charletons preying on desperate women.

So, if you want to make the ridiculous comparison to abortion being a slippery slope to legalizing killing a three year old, then the same can be said about outlawing abortion is going down the slippery slope of legalizing killing pregnant women, because the occurance of death of women having illegal abortions will certainly rise.

About 1 year ago I was reading on a debate blog and the question was raised...If a two year old child was in a burning building sitting next to a freezer with 3 embroys in it which would you rescue?" You would surprised how many said "the embroys" because they would be saving 3 lives. I couldn't believe it. Can you actually tell me you would leave the 2 year old to die?

Interesting. I'm going to be really embarassed if my math is wrong , but it looks like 78 percent of women polled want the right to decide for their own body, yet only 58 percent of the men responded that way.

You can acknowledge that abortion is not something you would do in any circumstance and yet support the right of others to make that choice for themselves. Hence the "choice" part. Having children of your own has no bearing on what other people should do with their bodies.

I wonder if there are statistics available on how many men support/oppose Roe Vs Wade. I'd be curious to know how close to the national average this poll is, if at all. I find it really disturbing how close the numbers are between support and oppose on this poll for the men. I would have expected more women were pro-life

I am a female and I am pro-life.

I used to be pro-choice until I was forced to do a persuasive speak in my public speaking class as a freshman in college on the pro-life side of the matter. Not only did all the research I did convince me that abortion should only be availabe for extreme case but I also changed the minds of lots of students in my class.

I also think there is a big misconception that if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade then abortion will be illegal. That is not the case, it will then become a state to state issue.

I would agree, except that I think it's a little skewed in that there are not that many men who are active on the CB (only 21 have even voted) and, of those, there's a number of them who are very conservative.
