Hi - read a couple of posts about priority seating and people not making ps early enough. Do you recommend calling before you leave home, or is making the ps a few days ahead of time good enough...we are going in May. It has been a while since I've been to WDW and evidently lots has changed!! Thanks...

Maggie,
I think it depends on where you want to eat. Some of the sit down restaurants are very difficult to eat at without a PS (like the Cinderella and other Princess ones) and sometimes you will be able to get in but have to wait for a long time. With a PS you get in with the next available table without that long wait. I've not had any problems getting PS's when I have arrived at WDW to the Sci-Fi Diner, Hollywood and Vine, or Prime Time. I just called the dining number in the room and decided where we wanted to eat at what days. :earsgirl:

The General Rule for PSs is if you are going during a holiday or school break, you want to dine at a character meal or one of the popular restaurants then making them before your arrival is for the best.

Popular Restaurants include, Cal Grill, WC, Narcoossees, Ohana, Le Cellier, Sci Fi, 50s PT, Cindy's & Flying Fish.

If you dont have a PS try to avoid the high volume periods for lunch noon for dinner 7pm.

What time do the PS phone lines open? Need to make my first one tomorrow!

Thanks!

We like making our PSs before we leave home. I often end up on hold with Disney Dining, and I'd rather not be on hold on vacation when I could be doing something other than sitting in my room trying to make a PS!

Phone lines open (I believe) at 8:00 am EST. But you don't need to call when they open unless you are looking to make reservations at Cindys. I usually make all of mine in one phone call about 2 1/2 months out. But I've made them as late as three weeks out and have done fine (had to move some times around a little - eat 20 minutes earlier or later than I really wanted).

Thanks Crisi! I don't plan on making them for Cinderella so I'll just wait until all the 90-day periods are up.

The phone lines open at 7 a.m. - just ask anyone who's tried to call at 7:03 for CRT and found that all the tables were already booked! (I got my ressie at 7:01 am. EST)

If you are making a PS for a restaurant that is not too hard to get, or want to confirm when your trip gets closer, you can use the 1-800 #: 1-800-828-0228

Good luck!

Diana
