I have a question about ordering photo prints.

After my Disney trip, I uploaded all 3.5K photos to my computer. From there, I selected the photos I liked best and uploaded those to Facebook. I then uploaded the Facebook photos to Walgreens to order prints. The prints were grainy and cropped funny. All 4x6.

Will I lose the "grainy-ness" if I upload my actual files (the ones that came directly from the camera) rather than using the Facebook photos? I'm assuming Facebook automatically resizes the files and I'm losing resolution.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My wife is trying to make a scrapbook for our Disney trip.

That is exactly what Facebook is doing to them. Definitely upload them straight from your computer.

Facebook does have a "hi res" upload option that will have the resolution you need to make small (4x6) prints, but it's still optimizing the images which mutilates colors, contrast and causes artifacting. As do many photo hosting sites including Flickr and Photobucket.
