Never a bad idea to consider some heat acclimation training. Especially if you're coming from a Northern climate. I know for me, I just did 2.5 hrs at -10F. So being in the 60s is going to be a dramatic change.
Either bundle up more than necessary for the outdoor conditions, or run inside on the treadmill.Question - how does one do heat acclimation training while living in a cold winter area?
on the off-chance that I fall in love with the spirit jersey, is anyone going to be at thecage matchexpo first thing on Thursday morning (or whatever the first day is?!) that might be willing to grab one and ship it to me? i shouldn't even be asking. but i do love me a good spirit jersey.

Or option 3.....run inside on the treadmill with extra layers. When I was HA training for marathon weekend I was wearing 2 pairs of leggings, 2-3 long sleeve shirts (on of them being UA coldgear), and a fleece vest. My basement/treadmill area is usually around 60 degrees, and these layers were enough to make me a lot more sweaty than usual, and I didn't have any heat related issues going from northern-Michigan-cold to central-Florida-hot.Either bundle up more than necessary for the outdoor conditions, or run inside on the treadmill.
Thank you! It'll have to be something really good for me to want it since I'm not running in-person and at this rate won't run it on my own until April or May. Ugh.The current plan is for me to be there at 8am (10am opening). I can pick you something up if desired.

And what do we do when it's 0F outside?![]()
Yes, it’s called a treadmillPresumably though you have an outfit for when it's -20 to -30F outside.
We likely won't see any until a day or two before the expo. RunDisney typically will put pictures up on their Instagram feed/story or there may be a blog post.Where can we see the event merchandise?

My goals
-Make it to race day healthy and able to fully enjoy my first Princess Weekend.
-Run the 5k with my daughter in full blown Wanda and Vision costumes. It'll be her first 5k, and my first time wearing a costume in a runDisney race. Literally what dreams are made of, since this was the overarching goal nine years ago before she was even born.
-Finish Top 3 overall in the 10k. It's a lofty goal. I was initially disappointed that the Age Group awards were taken away. But I decided to turn that disappointment into motivation. The odds are against me, but if I reach greater fitness levels than my previous peak than it's possible.
-Finish the 10k in under 40 minutes.
-Finish the HM in under 90 minutes. Remains to be seen, but temps will need to be good to pull this off after the 10k.
-Meet new and old DIS'ers at meetups throughout the weekend.
My goals from August:Alright royals, it's almost that time. Which means it is time to rewind and go back to August 25th, 2021. We all signed up for the Princess Weekend for a variety of reasons, and on that day we settled on some personal goals (link). So how did everyone do in their pre-race goals, and how are you feeling about your race weekend goals?
Here were mine
-Still healthy.
-Still planning to run the 5k with my daughter as Wanda and Vision.
-Finish Top 3. Remains to be seen. I've put myself in a good position as my current estimate is something around 39:00-39:30. Some years that would be good enough, and others not.
-Finish the 10k in under 40 min. Definitely doable.
-Finish the HM in under 90 min. Definitely doable.
-Meet new and old DIS'ers at meetups throughout the weekend. On track to complete this one with pre-race meetups and a Saturday HH.

And anyone else want to set some goals that didn't back in August? Did you know you're twice as likely to complete a goal if you write it down? Did you know you're twice as likely to complete a goal if you tell someone else? So why not quadruple your odds and write it down by telling us!
I live in Mass and it feels like 5 today lol I always inadvertently run at a slower pace when I go from cold to warm environments and have to hydrate a lot more than usualQuestion - how does one do heat acclimation training while living in a cold winter area?
