Princess Weekend 2022

When I stayed at CB a few years ago (can’t remember if it was Star Wars or Marathon weekend) there were at least two stops for the race buses - one at the back by Aruba?? (I was in a close-ish building for that stop). They had some buses staged back there, so they didn’t all start at the main building.

Just remember to ask when you get there, where the race buses will pick up, they are usually not quite at the regular park bus locations (usually close to where Magical Express drops off/picks up).

Thanks! Which one would y’all choose?

I guess it just comes down to what you want out of your Disney/runDisney experience. AOA is a popular no frills resort for runDisney, and CB offers a few niceties not found at AOA. I typically go to bed around 6:30-7:30pm the night before the race, and I can't say I remember an issue with noise in either type. So some times I've chosen resorts like AOA and other times ones like CB. This time around we're doing SS because I've never stayed there before.

The one thing I do try and do is request a room close to the runDisney bus pickup location. Shaves a little time off in the morning, but makes the saunter back to the room after the race much easier.

Thanks! Which one would y’all choose?
Unless CBR was cheaper than AoA, I would try AoA. I have not stayed there but was at PoP for two different race weekends. So I ran to AoA from Pop, ate in their food court and even used their bus to come back from the parks once. I like the bigger than life theming, the energy from other runners and the one main bus stop.

I never stayed at CBR but I have taken a bus to go to the Expo from there and found it harder to navigate. I suspect that the vibe is way more relax island style.

I'm with @flav. I know you didn't ask about Pop, but I've stayed all over property for races: Saratoga Springs, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, and Pop Century (multiple times now). I don't know if I'd stay anywhere other than Pop for a race again. I like to get out early so I'm not nervous about getting to the start line, and Pop always has not just one bus, but multiple buses, sitting there waiting right when transportation starts. The only thing I don't like about Pop for race weekends is the lack of hot tubs at the pools for later recovery, and lack of tub in the bathrooms if you like an ice bath after the race.

AoA may be similar for transportation to Pop, I don't know, but if transportation is your big concern I can tell you that up until now, Pop is great. I was just at WDW however and I can tell you not to expect anything to be run the same. I felt like about 50% of the workers I ran into were totally new hires in training. Like seemed to have been hired that week. So things may be totally different the next race.

I know yesterday's big announcement was just more teasing, but I am still super excited. I'm looking forward to having something on the books. Crossing my fingers to hear if TAs get bibs again so I can register with the room booking. For 2020 I made reservations at POFQ and registered myself for the half on launch day...I happened to be in the podiatrists office and had spotty cell coverage. Gave myself heart palpitations. For 21 I booked through a TA...and while the race was ultimately canceled, I liked the process better. I guess I'd probably stay at FQ again if it's open, but my husband wasn't too fond of having access to bus transport only for the duration of our trip (though the beignets more or less made up for that). Waffling over options.

Yeah I have a room booked already, but if they announce that TAs will have bibs I will most definitely go that route. I don't want to take any chances this time around.

i would put that probability at less than 1%. The TAs I checked with are not expecting them or they are putting language in their listings that they may not have bibs. Sigh. im worried

Oh, I sure hope TAs get bibs! I'll be so bummed for them if they don't.
I usually book everything myself (husband is CM, sometimes we can find deals....but I am not waiting for any sweet deals when it comes to race registration).

Fingers are crossed! We’re likely heading down to WDW that week in February - it’s school vacation and our daughters gymnastics team usually does a meet at WWoS. Would be fun if the timing worked out!!

FYI, POT cutoff moved to 2:00 hrs for Wine and Dine. The window appears to be about 30ish months (Jan 2019 - July 2021). So a similar window for Princess would be something like March 2019 - November 2021. Although no actual info about Princess at this moment.
