I'm thinking of doing this with my 2 yo DD (will just turn 3 then) and my 10 yo DD. Do they charge the WHOLE thing up front or just a deposit? Is my 10 yo DD too old and does she HAVE to wear a princess dress? She's tall and could pass for a 12-13 yo. I don't think she'd want to wear one anyway. How did you like it and is it really worth the $$? It will cost me upwards of $300+ for the 3 of us. I don't have a problem spending the money as long as my girls are happy. My then 3 yo won't remember it, but she loves the princesses and we can always go again in a few years? How should we all dress? Thanks!

Hi, I did this last Thanksgiving with my then 5 yr old and my 8 yr old. My 8 yr old and I LOVED it. She thought she was going to be the oldest one and was not even looking forward to it, but she REALLY enjoyed it and she was not the oldest, either. There were some girls that looked 11 or 12. My 5 yr old got squirrely. She was excited to go and happy to be there, but she was ready to leave 1/2 way thru. I believe it is about an hour and a half long. The only princess that comes is Aurora and she does not arrive until near the end of the party. She goes from table to table and spends a few minutes chatting and signing autographs. Not knowing your littlest one's personality, it is hard to say if she may not be thrilled to be sitting there for an hour and a half. Personally I think it may be pushing it. When my oldest was 3 or 4, she would have done it fine, but my younger one is just more rambunctious and energetic. Most of the party is spent sitting at the table and listening to music and stories. (My 5 yr old would have been happy to have had her Polly Pockets to play with at the table)

As for dressing, my girls both wore princess costumes. My 8 yr old was on the fence about it, but she still secretly wanted to!! There were many girls just in dressier clothes. It was a mix of princess dresses and nice street clothes. I just wore linen capris and a summer sweater.

The gifts the girls are given are a doll (my 8 yr old gave hers away) a bracelet, some scrap book pages(5 yr old cut them up!), a pretty crown, and maybe something else????

Over all, I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was very entertaining. Just seems like a long time to have a really little girl sit! princess:

Hmmmm....my youngest is 2.5 right now & we'll celebrate her 3rd birthday there in June. We eat out about 1x/week sometimes more and she does pretty well (unless she skipped a nap or something). However, I am not sure she'd sit there listening to stories. She's probably want to dance or maybe walk around a little. If Sleeping Beauty came out earlier she would do fine. My older DD wants to do it (and I'd like her to do it before she gets too old), but I am sure she'd give the doll to her sister. Maybe I should take my oldest now and then take my other DD when we go down in January '08 when she's 4 1/2. Thank you..you've got me thinking. I appreciate your help! :goodvibes

It was a wonderful experience. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. I would do it again in the near future, but my girls do not need another doll and all the other stuff!!! I wish there was one price for repeat guests that don't need more goodies!!

The option of you and your older daughter going sounds like a great one. You should do it for sure before she feels like she is too old. (sigh) It goes so fast. I bet you would be able to enjoy it more yourself without worrying about keeping your little one amused.

I don't mean to come off negative about it at all. Just realistic. My girls were so different in personality - still are. Only you know your little one, but it is more of a quiet, calm musical story telling kind of show. Not a character dining kind of thing. Good luck deciding. I think your little one would appreciate it more when she is 4 1/2 yrs old, for sure. She would like the parting gifts at that age, also. princess:

i know how it is..so I didn't take anything in a bad way. my 2 girls are pretty different then and now. although there are some things the same. both are pretty well behaved (but a 2 yo is a 2 yr old and all kids will test boundaries). my youngest hates to be dirty or get sticky and my 2 yo loves to mush it all over her face and in her hair (sigh), did I mention she hates her hair brushed too? But she loves dolls and Cinderella and all the princesses. she makes us dance around with her like the Prince in Sleeping Beauty. I think I will take my older DD and take my younger one when she's a little bit older. Thanks for your advice! :flower:
