Princess Sydney's Wish Trip PTR

Just popping in to say hi so I'm officially subscribed to this PTR! Can't wait to see the pics of the Big Give packages as they start to arrive. popcorn::

Oh my we've had an exciting two days! And I waited until I could finally figure out how to post pics again LOL.

Sydney had her last tball game last night so we were late getting home what with trophies, pics and everything. DH met us at the field so on the way home in his car, he dropped in to get the mail (community mailbox two streets over :sad2:) Anyway, when he got home, he had two parcels... one was from my Mom (something for our anniversary) and we had no idea who the other was from... that meant it had to be part of the Big Give.

The parcel was from Tricia, a fellow Cdn from Timmons! The kiddos curled up on the couch and were so excited with their new outfits. They're just amazing with, believe it or not, beavers with Cdn flags! Lucas said "Mom, its just like Canada Day!" :lmao: They tried them on and they all fit wonderfully. The kids adore them. Here are a few pics:

We also took a pic of the kiddos with the Big Give sent by The Laxton's!

DSCN0728.jpg

That was the final push I needed to get the Countdown calendar done! I got the kids to bed and made the calendar and posted it so they'd find it first thing in the morning. You'd swear Santa had come when they woke up.

DSCN0730.jpg

Lucas was in tennis camp for the day and had really had a rotten day. He loved tennis but they went for a swim and despite being in swim lessons for years, he didn't pass the swim test to be in the pool without a lifejacket. He was really bummed. Actually called work to see if I could pick him up. I talked him into staying and he had fun afterwards but it wasn't his best day ever. I picked him up a bit early and when we walked in the door, there were TWO packages here waiting for us! Two more Big Gives!

The kids jumped on the couch ready to open. They've decided that they get to take turns. :thumbsup2.

DSCN0733.jpg

DSCN0734.jpg

The first was from Ellen (ellenbenny). She made the most amazing Animal Kingdom outfits for the whole family!

DSCN0735.jpg

The picture doesn't do Sydney's skirt justice. Its beautiful and she just loves the ruffles on the back. DH got home about then so Sydney took our pic too!

DSCN0748.jpg

Caiden was so funny. He absolutely refused to take his off. It took ages to get it off him so he could eat dinner without messing it up.

DSCN0746.jpg

The next parcel was from Anita (Granna4679). Sydney was over the moon to see her Minnie Mouse set. And it fit her perfectly! I'm amazed at how you all manage to make things that fit so well when you don't have a model nearby.

DSCN0740.jpg

And here's another pic to show off the adorable matching pants!

DSCN0743.jpg

Overall, an incredibly exciting day! Thank you so much to Tricia, Ellen and Anita! :grouphug:

Awesome Big Gives!! I am glad you got mine, it took a looong time to get to you! Looks like everything fits and I am so glad the kids like them. Your kids are so cute!

I also love the Canadian Beaver fabric, so cool! And the minnie dot outfit looks great on Sydney! Can't wait to see the rest of the Big Give stuff, it's so much fun seeing what everyone sends and seeing the kids reactions to it!!

Yay! I am so happy the Big Gives are starting to arrive. The outfits look great on the kids and I am so happy that Sydney loved her Minnie outfit and that it fits her. They are all adorable.

Can't wait to see what is coming next!!

You are very welcome. The kids look really happy in all the pics. Glad they are enjoying the stuff we send. I don't know about other Big Givers out there, but I am always very nervous about the fit. Nice to hear when things fit well.

Wow those Disboutiques items are wonderful. They are very generous and creative. Keep letting your lights shine. Great outfits!

I'm so tired I can barely sit up. DH has been travelling almost nonstop for weeks now and working all day with sports almost every evening is finally wearing me down. Sydney's tball finished this week and I'll be so happy when Lucas' softball finishes in two weeks. That'll just leave soccer. Having all the kiddos out at the field when the games don't finish until an hour past their bedtime is crazy!

But ah, despite being tired, I've been very excited to get home these days. The postman came to the house today and comment to the kids' caregiver that we order a lot of things. :rotfl2: So, yes, I came home to another Big Give today!

I looked at the return address and recognized it right away! It was the package from the Laxtons! Liz had said when we received the Disney Gift Card that she was also sending something for Sydney so I knew this one was just for her. The boys were really excited to see what was in the box.

DSCN0749.jpg

The first thing Sydney saw were Minnie Mouse hair bows. She was over the moon!

DSCN0751.jpg

DSCN0757.jpg

Then she saw the dress!

DSCN0753.jpg

She couldn't wait to try it on and show it off.

DSCN0756.jpg

What I didn't realize was that there was something else in the box... that's what happens when the 2 year old helps :rotfl2:

DSCN0755.jpg

The Pooh dress is absolutely adorable! Its going to look so cute at Crystal Palace!

DSCN0758.jpg

And here's the back!

DSCN0759.jpg

With bow to match!

DSCN0760.jpg

Thank you so much to the Laxton family! The dresses fit perfectly and hair bows are so cute. The little blouse for inside the Pooh dress is perfect to protect her shoulders in the Florida sun and it looks really nice with the dress. Great idea!

I'm going to have to sit down and figure out what outfits are for where. Usually I go with colours and just figure which colour for each day. This is going to be so much fun! Thank goodness we don't pay for luggage on the airplane.... although I don't want a repeat of DH's reaction to 9 pcs of luggage that I took to Mexico so I'm going to have to try and limit it somehow. :rotfl2: (don't get me wrong, that included carry ons for five people, a suitcase of stuff for a school there, snorkel gear, etc ... DH still thought it was excessive though :sad2:)

All of the Big Gives are awesome! The kids look like they are totally enjoying it. I LOVE that B/W/Red dress. It's got that classy touch to it. She will look so beautiful! It IS hard to figure out where to wear all of the outfits though!

9 pieces for 5 to Mexico. Sounds fine to me!!!:thumbsup2

I love the new big give dresses and hairbows! Both those dresses are adorable on her. So cute, and Sydney looks so happy. You are going to have so much fun!

wow!

awesome Big Give stuff!!!

THank you so very much for sharing all of the pictures!

Awesome stuff. And the little blouse can prob. be worn under the Canadian Beavers top too.

I thought the exact same thing Tricia! I haven't tried it with it yet though. Sydney also has a red tshirt that I think will look nice under it. We may try it without just because of the heat concerns but I'll carry it with us in case her shoulders start to get a bit red.

Problem is, Sydney is so fair that she turns pink when she's hot so its hard to tell when she's been exposed too much. We're doing 60SPF again like we did in Mexico but its so hard to remember to reapply it as often as she needs it... the boys are good to go as long as its done properly in the morning... Sydney needs it on every few hours and even then, she burns a bit.

I have to tell you all that we're having so much fun with the Big Give. Lucas is older and I wasn't sure if he'd be into it as much because many things would be just for Sydney but he's having a blast. I'm starting to talk with Sydney about the deep down reason that she's getting a wish... its so hard to make a 4 year old understand how serious something could have been without scaring her.... very fine line. Lucas 'gets' it which I think is why he loves seeing her get Big Give things. But I don't think Sydney will truly understand until she gets a bit older. I'm pretty sure she thinks that everyone goes to the hosptial as much as she does, and goes away for testing, etc. Its normal for her so its hard for her to understand why what's happening is so special.

Loving all the Big Gives. The Pooh dress with the ruffle back is just adorable!! Looking forward to seeing more!:)

Good morning! I'm at the office but just wanted to post a small update. I've been feeling so guilty for not posting the pics of our latest Big Gives. I've managed to come down with something so I've been out of commission pretty much since last Friday. I do have pics though of three wonderful Big Give packages that arrived (one last Thrusday and two on Friday). The kids have loved the toys and notebooks... although bad mommy, I put many, well most, away for our trip ... Sydney and Lucas understood, Caiden not so much. I'm at work today so can't post pics but I'll do it this evening so everyone can see the wonderful packages the kids received late last week.

We watched Princess and the Frog on Sunday and the kids loved it. We also rented a dvd with a mix of Nickalodean characters in it so the kids recognize those we may meet at Universal. Next on my list is Tinkerbelle... Sydney has already seen it but I haven't and I'd like to know more about her fairy friends before we meet them for the first time.... we also plan to go to the new ToyStory movie if I can get my act together while its still in theatres... holy cow, less than 3 weeks to go! I feel so far behind in everything.... I'm now starting to question actually having a touring plan .. I'm so used to having one that its hard to go without it but I know I need to let loose and just let the magic happen...

Hi Tonya! I've been reading your TR... it sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Can't wait to hear about the Harry Potter area at IOA :goodvibes

Another exciting day here for us! I picked up the mail on the way home and we had three, YES THREE, Big Give packages! But... before I get to those amazing packages let's get back to the packages that arrived last Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday I arrived home to a package that was not what I expected at all... it was a package from HERE! Yup, there's a Big Giver here in Nepean, on the outskirts of Ottawa. You could have bowled me over with a feather! :rotfl2: The kids were pretty excited.

Michelle (MaeB) had sent three gift bags for the kiddos with all kinds of things they could play with at home and at Disney. Their favourite by far were the balls. Lucas had soccer that night and Caiden and Sydney spent most of the evening throwing their balls around. Here are some pics:

On Friday, we received two Big Give parcels! The first was from Deborah in Florida. She sent the most AMAZING note books with personalized carriers along with sand toys that Caiden has claimed as all his. :lmao:

DSCN0776.jpg

These are goig to be perfect to keep the kiddos occupied when waiting in the TS restaurants. I could barely get them away from them! :goodvibes

DSCN0777.jpg

Ahh, but another Big Give was calling! This one was from Mollie in Chicago.

DSCN0778.jpg

She sent the most amazing personalized notebooks for the kiddos along with colouring pencils, glow sticks (which I can now cross off my list to buy before we leave :goodvibes) and hair barrettes for Sydney. The kids just love them and Lucas has already started drawing.. his first pic? Mickey!

DSCN0780.jpg

Oh oh, apparently I maxed my photo allowability for one post. The rest of the post is going to follow!

(Here's the second part of the post :goodvibes)

That brings us to today! Like I said, we had three Big Gives arrive today. I walked in the door and Sydney called "Yeah, more parcels!" :lmao: They're going to start to get used to this.

There were three parcels so each one got to open a parcel today. I knew from the customs label that one parcel was just for Sydney so she got that one and the boys got to choose which they wanted to open. Lucas quickly grabbed the Mickey parcel.

DSCN0781.jpg

It was from Jennifer in Maryland (MD is Maryland right?). They were very excited to find Scooby Doo outfits for all of them. Just perfect for Universal! :cool1: She also sent the most beautiful Disney pins, two each. They're going to start trading this trip (if our pins ever arrive from ebay :confused3) but they've all said they don't plan to trade these. :lovestruc

DSCN0784.jpg

And this is a pic of them screaming "Scooby Doooooooo"

DSCN0785.jpg

Next was a parcel from Alison (visitingapril09). A fellow canuck from BC! This one was Caiden's to open but his brother and sister insisted on 'helping'.

DSCN0786.jpg

She sent the most amazing set for the kiddos with embroidered dolphins along with stickers for the boys and colouring puzzle for Sydney. The outfits are perfect for our day at Seaworld!

Last but certainly not least was Sydney's parcel to open. It was from Nanci (TinkerbelleMom). She sent a beautiful Sleeping Beauty dress for Sydney. She was over the moon.

Its so soft and definitely not itchy. It will be perfect for her day at MK after BBB... she actually keeps saying its her dress FOR BBB so I'm not sure how that's going to go over since the Wish Foundation has set her up with the full shebang at BBB... we'll see :goodvibes

Thank you so very very much to everyone. I've told so many people about the Big Give and the wonderful people that participate in it. You've made this trip even more special for the kiddos and us. :cloud9:
