Princess Phoebe's Pre-WISH-Trip Report (arriving in MK 4/17/10)

It's at 6:30, which I think is why I kept trying to get a later one. If we eat at 6:30 we aren't going to be in the restaurant anymore by fireworks time. BUT, knowing how awesome it could be to watch from the beach, I'm cool with that. Phew, all that wasted energy.

Just eat slowly :thumbsup2

Posting here and Wish Trip thread -

What time is the AM GKTW orientation? Since we land at 7pm, I'm hoping, but not expecting to make the evening orientation and I can't find the time for the AM in all my searching.

I am almost positive it is at 9am!

3 days Melissa!!!!!! How are you feeling????

Just wanted to say watching wishes from anywhere other than the castle might be good! You will miss Tink flying, but I'm not sure that justifies the ONE HOUR it took to get from Main Street to our car. Ugh, Ugh, Ugh. That STUNK at 11:30 at night.

In hindsight we would have watched spectromagic, then headed on the ferryboat to watch the fireworks from there and save the mad dash for the parking lots!! Watching it from the beach sounds AWESOME too!!!

Okay (hijacking your thread again), have to take Elke back to the hospital unexpectedly today.... Was NOT on my last-minute packing agenda! Yikes:scared1:

We just need bathing suits and warm weather clothing, right? I can throw that together last minute. Oh, these children keep us on our toes. Livin' life on the edge....

Yay for 'Ohana! That's so something I would do. I did plan around our 180.80 date, and almost haven't looked at those ressies since. It'll be a real eye opener on the plane when I sit down and see where we're eating and when....

Lookie, I used those little, what do they call them?, emoticons? for the first time!

PS: maybe we can have a "farewell" meet on the beach at Poly on the evening of 4/23 to watch fireworks together before you take off on your second week (we're staying at the Poly then).

Hope Elke is okay.

Thanks! I think it's a minor "blip" in our planning countdown. Awaiting lab results, and probably will have to add PO antibiotics to our g-tube regimen down there, but not the worst thing that could happen.

I'm laughing at myself looking at the 180.80 reference above (should be 180 days date). It may be familiar to anyone who has ever practiced criminal law in the state courts in New York.... (the time a prosecutor has after arrest to obtain a grand jury indictment to prevent the suspect from being released). Hah! Haven't practiced in over 5 years and can't get rid of the lingo.

Your getting so close.. I can't wait to hear all about it... WOOOO HOOOOO

Laughing hard!!! That's something I'd do, so it makes it all the funnier!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yes, you're a dork too. ;)

:woohoo: for Ohana! We love the food there and I bet the girls will love the atmosphere :goodvibes Hope you all enjoy it and the time on the beach!

It sounds awesome! I'm excited to try it!

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:
I'm glad you figured it out, and now you can get that worry out of your mind. Watching Wishes from the beach sounds awesome! :goodvibes

I was so relieved. It wasn't my first time choice, but it's the location that counts. :thumbsup2

Just eat slowly :thumbsup2

Okay, that's not too late I guess. I was starting to really panic this morning but rolling with it a little more this afternoon. It changes hourly. :rotfl:

Good tips Beth! I was afraid that Phoebe would freak over the noise and wanted to have a backup plan. For our MK day I have Tony's planned for dinner so we will already be on Main St for the parade, then maybe we can stick it out in the shops and stuff until the fireworks? I do like the ferry idea though. :thumbsup2

Bummer! I'm glad it's nothing too major.

I've made a few changes in the beginning but obviously left them alone for awhile too.

Lookie, I used those little, what do they call them?, emoticons? for the first time!

Aw, our little Ann is growing up.

I'll have to check on my friend's flight arrival time. We pick her up at the airport and drive off in to the moonlight that night. I have US or IOA planned for that day, but with out kids it might be a short day. If your kids are gonna play around the hotel that day we might be able to hang out for a bit. We'll play it by ear. Thanks for the invite (and then notice I just invited us for something totally different :rolleyepooiuytrewqasdsdfghjkl09876543211236958755213465++++++

Uh, I have no clue what you just agreed to. But sure! Whatever it is sounds good. I think....

We'll see each other there and can talk before then. Looks like Elke has yet another UTI (4th in around 2 months). Her oncologist just called and asked, "WHEN are you leaving again?" I reminded him -- quickly -- Saturday morning. His response, "Oh. Well we can track you down in Florida if we need to change anything." Not the end of the world, I guess. Far from it.

I asked Elke what "smilie" she wanted me to put on Phoebe's page, and she said:
:dance3:

It's called "dance," but it looks to me like three people washing their hair.

Leaving you with Elke's second choice:
:grouphug:

(she can be sweet. some of the time)

NOTE TO SELF: DON'T LEAVE COMPUTER UNATTENDED WITH UNFINISHED WORK. :rotfl2:

And my next thought was going to tell you that whatever you wrote about that code stuff sounded like a foreign language to me!

GRRRRRRRR. I wish your baby could have a break, just for one measly week!

3 days... oh where does the time go??? I cannot wait to hear about your trip!!!!!

How cool that you and Wee Annie (sorry don't know your name) are going to meet up while you are down there!

In case I don't "see" you again on here before you leave- HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 And don't forget, after you get a decent amount of sleep- I expect to see a TR up and running! :rotfl2: Anyway, have fun and don't let Hurricane Tessa get too out of control! :goodvibes

You're in the homestretch, Melissa!!! Very fun that you are probably doing all "last minute" stuff now!

Tim just told me, in a very adamant tone, that we are not going to be getting ANYTHING done on Friday (he's off work - I planned that;)). I told him I'm already about half way done packing, and he insisted that NO I'M NOT. Huh??? The man has never packed his own stuff for any length trip, to any destination, since we've been married (15 years in June), and come to think of it, probably EVER. I love my hubby, and I'm not trying to man-bash in general, but yes, I am stressed and yes, there is lots still to get done, but it really irked me when he said that. <deep breath>

So how am I doing on my crazy week so far? Completed items in Green, didn't get done yet in Red and unplanned time wasters in orange.

Monday
-babysit from 5am-2pm
- pick up/drop off dog for partial day dog-sitting
- do more laundry, decide which clothes to pack
- DH walk-in clinic

Tuesday
- babysit from 5am-2pm
- teach preschool from 8-10am
- meet with Phoebe's county services coordinator at 12:30pm
- make Neurologist appt for Phoebe for May because her seizures are increasing in number and severity (found out that our last Neuro in TX followed us here to AZ! I specifically requested NOT that one)
- call charter school about Tessa early enrollment (age 5 after cut-off)
- reorganize bathroom drawer after Tessa played "make-up artist"

- pick up/drop off dog for partial day dog-sitting

- pack up carry-ons
- most of the kids stuff is done, but not cameras, and grown up stuff
- returned library items, deposited babysitting check, shopped for airplane snacks - is the FAA rule still 3 oz.?
Juice boxes are TOO BIG???

Wednesday
- meet with tax guy to sign stuff at 10am
- take Tessa to McD's playland for being so good at tax appt
- clean up McD's throw up on garage floor (I didn't believe her when she said she was going to throw up! Poor girl! I thought she wanted to play with her "car bracelets" so I said no. Bad mommy!)
- follow Tessa and friend around the backyard taking pics with NEW CAMERA!

- take Tessa to ballet from 3:15 to 3:45pm
- invite fairy godmothers to join us for pizza on Thurs
- pick up/drop off dog for partial day dog-sitting
- check for cheaper car rentals for week 2 (nothing cheaper yet, but will try again at some point to bid on priceline)
- look for airport transport (but long term park isn't bad at ours...okay, one shuttle says 75.00 from our area, is this PP??? long term parking is as low as 4/day for the cheapest lot)

- make week 2 reservations (I just can't commit, but I have choices narrowed down!)

Thursday
- teach preschool from 8-10am
- shop for dog food, DH sunglasses, DH flip flops
- PO to mail state tax check, fill out hold mail form
- return India Arie CD to the library that was still in player when I went on Tuesday (grrrrrr)
- possibly follow up with charter school on enrollment
- possibly go to shoe store in town to exchange size for Tessa
- possibly go to optometrist in town to get P's glasses re-fitted
- pick up/drop off dog for partial day dog-sitting
- meet wish granters at 6pm

Friday
- panic!!!
- final load of laundry to pack
- pedi for me
- chiropractor for me
- haircut for Tim (at his fave place)
- trim girls' hair at old neighbor's in-home salon 4:00
- drop off our dog at friend's tonight (?)

Saturday
- leave home by 6am to be at airport by 6:20
- depart 7:50am
- fly all day, layover, wait, fly, etc, arrive in Orlando at 7pm (yawn)
- start having fun :rotfl2:

Editing to add that before he went to bed he apologized for making statements about the packing. We talked, we're good. :)
