It's not really a FP as such more a appointment ticket

From the 19th-30th October the PP will change its way of operating and will only be able to be visited by appointment.

A system of appointments with a ticket will be proposed in order to limited the waiting times.

In a day the number of tickets will be limited (far less in number than the Fast Pass)

Each ticket will give you a time of rdv within a window of 30 mins to see a Princess

So starting from the 19th, don't hesitate to go and get more information at the PP

-That will do for the moment :goodvibes

Wow thats great , wish full thinking but wouldnt be great if they told us which princess in each time slotprincess:

Well, at least it tells us one thing, they realise that the current system isn't working very well ;). At least they are attemping to find a way around the constant queues :goodvibes.

If this is a success, I wonder how long it will be before they roll it out full time? Am I hoping too much that they will have this in place by end November (fingers crossed) :).

I'd be very surprised if they will tell you the Princess - they don't even really do this in organised (timetabled) meets - often just says Pooh and friends or Rhythms of the jungle (jungle book inspired) etc. Covers their backs that way and in some ways, adds a nice element of surprise too.

My question is - what happens when the tickets run out? Does that mean you won't be able to visit that day. I guess so... :confused3

Yes it's first come first served, once the tickets are gone you will have to wait until the next day.

People will be queuing as long if not longer to get tickets and it will be fun to see how many tickets 1 group can get etc. You can see large groups splitting up to get more tickets to increase their chances of seeing different Princesses :rolleyes2

this system would work really well for people like me who would love to see the inside of the Pavilion, but are not so fussed about which Princess they meet. I wonder what the queues will be like for the timed tickets, compared to the queues for the Pavilion instead ;)?

You know Elaine, in June I just wanted to have a look inside too but the queue was so long it wasn't even worth trying. I didn't have the hide to go and ask if I could just have a look in :rotfl2:.

I'm not sure it's the right answer to their problems with this, but it's a start isn't it. Do you think they'll have automated ticket machines like FP machines? Doesn't sound like it does it -perhaps though, if they go this route, they might invest in them for future.

Still think they'd be better to have 3-4 Princesses in there at once (in different rooms), and people go and see each one in turn. That would cut queues, as although it would take longer inside, people wouldn't necessarily queue again having been once, instead of now where people can queue 4-5 times in one trip hoping to see a different Princess! But, then I don't know about the overheads of having 4 characters instead of 2.... :(

There's not enough room in there to put 4 princesses - it wasn't a big enough area :)

I like your idea dlpdreams:goodvibes
id personnely love if rapunzel got her own meet+greet back full time, along with aubergines i then wouldnt have to go near the pavallion. As all dd2 wants is rapunzel and isnt too bothered who else lol.

Really? I'm sure I read somewhere that there were 3 rooms? So, OK, not 4 but perhaps 3 Princesses.... ;)

I personally think this is a terrible idea. Having visited to WDW at Hollywood Studios where every one rushes for FP for Toy Story Mania and FP can run out with in an hour of opening and you have to either get over that you wont be riding or get in the 1+ hour queue. Imagine not knowing about this strolling along mid afternoon with your princess all dressed up hoping to meet a princess and finding out no you have no chance! I think it is very disappointing.

There just needs to be more places to meet princesses like in WDW where you can see Jasmine or Ariel in Adventureland or Rapunzel where ever she is. If it is the only place you can see a princess and people want to see a princess they have no other choice. 2 parks and only one arranged meet and greet for Princesses is poor.

I love the Meet Mickey and think in some ways it is a shame they didnt have the princesses in there as it seems a lot bigger. Chance to have more Princesses on in one go.

No, definitely 2 rooms only. There's a little walkway between them, but even if you closed that it wouldn't make room for a third princess.

Urgh - not good is it! I don't suppose seeing 2 in one visit would make a huge difference to the queue! Honestly, I really don't know how they get this one sorted (other than move to a bigger building but that's not going to happen - why oh why didn't they realise it would be so popular - Princesses are a HUGE pull). As I said earlier, at least they are trying I suppose.... :scratchin

Leanne - the idea of more Princess meet & greets is good. At least at Christmas it looks Belle will be taken out of the PP if she is having her own M&G area :thumbsup2. Doesn't look there will be Rapunzel anywhere much though .

Trying? At the gazebo you at least knew who was there. ;)

I like boyfriend's suggestion. "Tear the wholething don, get thegazebo out again and this time build it right." No way this is going to happen though.

I agree with Tinks, that could lead to very bad morning stampedes.

I definitely agree with this. Whilst I love princesses, I wouldn't queue for PP (unless I was with a child) because there are some princesses I'm willing to wait to see, and some I'm not. Because you've no idea with PP, I can never justify the long waiting times.

It would be great to have more organised meet and greet princess spots. In theory there would be smaller queues, and the time people do spend waiting will be for princesses they really want to see. I probably wouldn't queue at all to see Cinderella or Jasmine, but I'd wait 1+ hours to see Rapunzel or Ariel!

In short, regardless of any new system, unless it's a very effective FP they eventually introduce I'll probably continue to avoid PP unless they start posting a princess schedule.

Even with DD we won't queue. Until he starts asking/begging lol to see them I don't think we will and if she really wanted to see princesses and not worried which I would rather fork out for auberge then wait an hour plus to see just anyone.

I hope one day it will be sorted but I don't think it will happen for a while.

Dd2 is obssesed with rapunzel and its the only reason i qued 5 times last may!!! Would have just done aubergines if she wasnt bothered which princess. Really am hoping come march she wont care lol!! Please dlp bring back rapunzel meet+greet!!!

any idea why they are only doing it 19th-30th oct? we arrive lunchtime on the 30th and after checking in have lunch booked in cafe mickey. doubt there will be any tickets left by then for the fastpass. where do you get the tickets from? I can see me having to queue with my 5year old daughter, we queued for an hour to see them when we went 2 years ago and she was only 3 then and didnt moan once bless her. she really wants to see ariel, cinderella, jasmine or repunzel this time as she saw tiana snow white and belle last time. So annoying theres no way of finding out who is on before you start queueing. my husband said that last time we went you could ask in the city hall that morning which princesses where going to be doing the meet and greet and they would give you the two that would be there but would just be rotating every half hour. Would city hall tell you who was going to be there this time or do they not do that now?

° o ° a little more explanation on "reservation tickets" at the Pavilion of the PRINCESSES:

-The test of this new operation date: from 16 to 30 October 2012

-Tickets will be distributed for specific slots between the Pavilion des Princesses and Old Mill on presentation of the entrance tickets to the Park

-Even with this new system, you will not be able to choose the Princess that you will encounter

-The first time slot of distribution of tickets will be held at the EMH (Extra Magic Hours)

-The ticket gives you an appointment at the Pavilion of the Princesses in a slot of 30 MINUTES, beyond that you will not be able to enter, so be on time;

-Even people with "priority cards" must have a ticket reservation but will use the exit (disabled entrance)

Under these conditions... the wait will be ROYALLY shortened: D

I think this is a good idea as when we were there in sept there were 9 families at the exit that's a lot extra to fit in!
