Princess Pavillon Fast Pass

I think this is a good idea as when we were there in sept there were 9 families at the exit that's a lot extra to fit in!

Really?Gosh, when we were there in August we were the only people at the exit for 2 of the 3 visits we made, and the other time there was one family in front of us.

Yeah we were waiting at the exit of its a small world was raining so DH went to get the push chair and a CM asked if they were all waiting for PP and replied yes then came and spoke to all 9 families asking how many were in each party.

I'm not saying having an access pass is bad just think may be the CMs should ask them to come back in an hour or so x

In July they pulled out people with a certain kind of pass, may have been difficulty standing. Someone with a pass right at the end of the line got pulled when I was second in line and then the CM saw my pass and told me to come with them too. :confused3

I'm not sure if I like that new system. It's good that they are doing something. But I am having visions of scrums for tickets now and those are not nice. If wheelchair users are among that... I don't really want to picture that. Anyone who has seen a disabled person trying to get a picture at the Character train will probably agree with me. They will need really good crowd control and line enforcement I think, and that is one thing where they have been severely lacking ever since I am going.

People will again try to get multiple tickets to see the princess they want too. Also some details are missing, like one ticket per person, one ticket per group etc.

not sure i like this method....
agree with the horrific scrum it cud cause for ppl trying to get a ticket first thing, but also, ppl who have a priority card - if these r really limited, how do u explain to an autistic child they cannot meet a princess because they have run out of slots, and its early in the day???

they arent going to understand at all....... altho, in our case, pls bring back the rapunzel meet as thats who ds2 is in love with and the only princess his world revolves around.... lol

i guess tho, we will have to wait until this test is finished and see what happens, and reports back from ppl who have been and tried it.... maybe there will be more tickets available than we are thinking or that they will have it planned better??? :confused3 we can hope....

I'd like to proper interactive system introduced where you entered your park ticket and were shown the princesses available for the day and the remaining time slots. First come first serve and a ticket will only allow access to one princess per day.

If you're in a group you'd have to put your ticket in at the same time and add yourself to the reservation otherwise you wouldn't be allowed in.

It'd solve 99% of the problems and would be the fairest way to do it.

I agree the system in whole isnt good and the scrum will be terrible!
To e honest we won't bother with it again I don't think it's worth an hour wait.

I'm not trying to fight but I don't think explaining to any child they can't see a character is fare.

I think the only way it can be resolved is more meet and greets a lot less technology would be needed.

Outside auberge seating area is it ever used it would be a perfect meet and greet area for the princesses with the carriage there.

Yeah, I agree. They could put up Rapunzel's Meet and Greet again and maybe have her swap with Belle (I assume the general area of that Meet is where Belle will meet for Christmas). Put Jasmine regularly in the area in Adventureland, Cinderella at the carriage while Auberge is closed (great call tinks, I didn't think of that one) and maybe put something up for Tiana near the Riverboat, that's how they used to do it in the US parks for her.

Anything of that would kill off a lot of traffic for the Pavillion.

This sounds like a far better idea.

that is spot on vala!! but yes, more princesses about wud ease it for sure - ***, most children have a favourite & that way u cud def get to see them!!

I'll be watching to see how well this works, my gut feeling is that it won't solve the problem, but instead lead to a lot of upset people who won't have a ticket to meet the princesses.

Normally tickets will be handed out at 9.45 - 11.45 - 13.45 according to DCP.

It's a trial like the single rider on Crush (which sadly didn't work) so we will see what happens :thumbsup2

Ok, while initially I reserved judgement on this and said at least they were 'trying'.... now I'm not so sure.

Surely all they are doing is moving the queue from outside the doors of the PP to outside the Old Mills (a few yards away).

I've now seen photos of the signage giving instructions for tickets, it doesn't mention 9.45 (ie within EMH). It states 11.45 & 13.45 only. So not sure if the 9.45 is happening :confused3 People will start queuing at silly o'clock to get tickets!?

In addition it states:

- Please choose one representative from your party to collect your tickets.
- Park tickets for the whole group must be presented.

How are they going to police this? There are 6 of us in November (if indeed it continues) how they are going to know we are all together? We could split into 2 groups and get 2 lots of tickets.

I really, really hope that they have proper lane ropes for this 'queuing' system, otherwise I can see fights breaking out - which won't be a pretty sight in FL! :rolleyes1

:scared1: I really wonder who thought this one up.... I would love to be a fly on the wall watching this unfold.

Really hope we are all wrong and it is meticulously managed and works! :rolleyes1

It's 9.15 and not 9.45 as previously thought. They give them out to the EMH people which is why it doesn't figure on the sign.

You can see a copy of the ticket that gets given out on DCP

Globalement il y avait peut-être 10 min maxi à l'intérieur du pavillon des Princesses.
Quel calme, on pouvait entendre la musique. Le fait d'avancer dans la file d'attente sans personne devant était vraiment magique. Quelle mise en condition !!!

Overall there was maybe 10 mins (wait) maximum once inside the PP.
So quiet, we could hear the music. To be able to go through without anybody in front of you was really magical. What a great preparation (to meet a Princess) !!

Thank you for all of the updates! Does this mean that you get given a ticket as you enter the park?

You get them from the same place near the Old Mill so you queue up there during the EMH and they hand them out at 9.15 apparently. There are 3 distribution points up there so it goes quickly. :)

Thanks Carrie! We dont go til Feb, so they may well have abandonned the whole thing by then anyway!

I think this is the way they are policing it - ie if you, as a group of 6, split up to get PP tickets, you are still only going to get a maximum of 6 persons on a PP timeslot ticket, as you only have 6 park tickets between you? If you split into 2 groups, you are only going to have however many park tickets you've shown on the PP timeslot ticket, aren't you?

Yes, you are right Elaine :thumbsup2. It is sounding better organised than initially thought, but like a lot of these things, people don't catch on for a while, once they do it becomes busy. Look at FPs - it amazes me how many people still do not use / or understand these :confused3.

Thanks for the update Carrie - I am now hoping they continue this while we are there (especially the EMH bit :rotfl2:) but I guess it depends how successful the whole trial is. I read on DCP that people were complaining about them being given out in EMH - said it was penalising those people on day trips who can't get in the park until 10 am.... :rolleyes2

I'm very curious to see how this works out. If they do keep it on until December then I may try to nab some tickets during EMH. As I said earlier in this thread, I wouldn't dream of waiting the current times to see a mystery princess, but I can definitely do 10 minutes! I wonder if the queue will really be that short in reality though.

I hope it'll be deemed a success and be introduced properly. I don't think I could face queueing for an hour in the cold - we're going to Auberge and I'd rather save my queueing for Santa quite frankly! - but it would be nice to see the pavillion :)
