PRINCESS Palooza 2011! 9/9 Update: Departure Day

The girls look great!! So funny with the BBB hair!! It's crazy to see all the Christmas photos while we are baking in this crazy heatwave!!!! Bring on the cold weather!!!!!

I know! I might have to spend the entire day just looking at pictures from this Christmas trip, just to trick my mind into ignoring the temperature outside!

I'm just really glad they cancelled Katie's softball tournament this weekend. I think I'm holing up for the weekend and not LEAVING. Well, except for church........ Oh, and the grocery store.......... Oh, and the fabric store.

Oh well...... I tried.......

Thanks! That trip up Main Street was an adventure all its own! I had fretted about how that was going to go from the moment I saw they switched from a 9 AM opening to 8 AM.

Thanks for the kind words on the costumes! Belle is my favorite to make.

Sadly, I've now heard that our Fairy Godmother is no longer appearing during regular park hours. I think the word on the street (Main Street????) is that she's doing some parade work now. Thanks to some friends here on the DIS, we sent her some goodbye hugs. But I do still hope we'll at least get to wave to her in the parade........

Yeah, we thought it was pretty cool to see Mary in her red coat. I was surprised because I thought they only did that on really cold days. And that wasn't the case that day. So we hadn't planned to see Mary, but couldn't pass up that chance.

What did she think of the area? Of course, it's a mess there right now with the wildfire going on.

She did enjoy the tours and places she visited, but the girl she stayed with (3 of them went to visit a friend...though Mom went more for the get away than the friend as she isn't her biggest fan) she was kind of nasty and rude. Mom said she would never go back, but if she did, she would stay in a hotel. The lady wouldn't turn the AC on and was rude to them quite a bit. almost like they were all inconviencing her.

I LOVE this update. And I am liking the wild hairstyle...it would be a nice change, so when Claiore wakes up I'm gonna show her this style. I know she doesn't like the bun, and we al lknow she likes colorful hair, so this might be a new option.

Thanks Carey! I have to say I had to swallow REALLY hard to let them do that hairstyle. I do have to say I have nixed that style for our trip this December though. Is that small of me? I still just laugh every time I see this set of photos, but I do wish we had those photos with Belle in a ........ shall we say......... less "creative" style?????????

I'm plotting away though. The dresses are coming along again this year for our trip to Be Our Guest. I think I'll have to get TST fastpasses for photos ahead of dinner. (Yes, I'm being optimistic about it being open AND us getting ADRs!)

Well, Kadence looked though the pictures just now and is Loving to dresses, her comment was "Look at the detail" Where did she get that?

Then we got to the BBB part and she let off a big gasp...."They have crazy hair!, I won't pick that" Thankful am I. She still young, she could change her mind. I would swallow my tongue too if she wanted it.

Many thanks for the kind words. I keep a fair number of the gowns, but have sold a number of them through the years too, to help us get back to Disney the next year.

LOL on the grandkids being far far away! Many my age HAVE grandkids, but I'm sad to say I do think they're quite a ways off. Getting a late start then having my boys first, really does put me at a disadvantage in that department.

Thanks Jen! As you can probably tell, I had mixed feelings about the hair. But I know it has to stay fun for all involved, so ditched my reservations and told her to go for it. I really enjoyed seeing the girls go around with their crazy hair. It was just the Belle photos I wished were different. So I was really glad to have gotten some on the way in.

But honestly, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. And boy did we laugh that day...... over and over.

And we ALL know how much Claire loves colorful hair! I'll never forget her in her pink hair twirling around in her red Belle gown!

Our first trip to the BBB definitely WAS the best. Truly magical. I wish they had it when she was really little though. She was 7 when we went for the first time.

I am not sure where to start with so many incrediblle pictures. I love the shots on Main street and in front of the castle, it looks like you have all of Magic Kingdom to yourselves. It looks like the girls had a lot of fun at BBB, they looked like they were having a grand time and that's what it's all about. I imagine you were stopped by a lot of people asking about the girls gorgeous gowns! It is so nice that Katie got to share Disney with her best friend. We went to Disney with our best friends in 2011and did the same thing you did with part of the trip just our family and part of it with our friends. We all had so much fun together. Did you guys get to do MVMCP together?

hi! I love your trip report! I looked at the be our guest threads but I guess I missed the one that said that they were going to start taking adr's on 8/4. can you direct me?
