PRINCESS Palooza 2011! 9/9 Update: Departure Day

:lmao: Now that's funny!

So, I need to clarify, because I am thinking I must be very, very confused by your comment...

Are you saying you don't like Epcot? :scared1:

Many thanks to both of you! Who's up for a real photo safari trip to Africa? I'm in training. I've watched countless episodes of "Man vs. Wild", "Dual Survival", and "Man, Woman, Wild". So I'm SURE I can do it. Of course those crazy loons would probably have using my camera battery to start a fire and breaking the lens apart to start a fire if that didn't work..... :scared1:

Actually, I don't need to go to Africa. I'd just be happy if they'd slow the jeeps down at AK a bit.....

And no flames needed Mike. We've shortchanged AK a lot over the years. I'm the one who's gonna get flamed here though....... I rank AK right above ...... Epcot! :scared1:

Now who needs flaming????? :rolleyes1

Wow that is shocking.

Here is my list in order of favorites:
Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, California Adventure, Hollywood Studios, and lastly AK.

So sorry to disappoint everyone. I think it's just because I haven't spent enough time yet to get to love Epcot.

Yeah..... that's it...... :rotfl:

12/11: Continued

When I left off we were headed toward...........

Katie decided on this trip that she loves sitting in the front car, so we got a great view.

But alas.... sitting in the front row was not my favorite for taking ride photos. Shots of empty tracks are not nearly as exciting as the shots with people in them.

We didn't buy this ride shot but I did take the redneck ride photo. Unfortunately they were ready for me and my photo-stealing ways! I wish now I had bought this one. I love Katie's scream!

After Everest, we headed over to do Dinosaur. Indiana Jones at DL is on a very similar ride system, and is my favorite Disney ride. But it just loses something in the translation to Dinosaur. Drew wanted to ride though, so we headed over. Not many photos here. This ride is way too dark and bumpy.

Posing with the new little buddy she got after Everest:

The ride photo folks at Dinosaur must not have gotten the memo on me and my camera.....

I liked the tacky tinsel tree in Dinoland:

After Dinosaur, we headed back to ride Everest one more time. I love the view from the top:

Afterwards, we stopped for some photopass shots:

Still, it feels odd to stop for a "family" photo, and have it be only the 3 of us. It seems like just yesterday we were there as a family of 5:

FLASHBACK to 2007: Was that really just 5 years ago?????

Am I first? Lucky me
Loved the new photos. The one of the three of you is awesome!

I am so riding EE next trip! I am not shortchanging AK!

I can't believe the your family picture was only 5 years ago! The boys look sooooo young! I wouldn't believe that one is in college now!

A butt collage.....:rotfl2:

12/11: Continued

We hadn't done that much yet, but were already running short of time. I really thought Drew would love "Flights of Wonder" and I didn't want to miss it. Thankfully we made it there in time and got good seats.

Of course I like this shot becuase.... well... because it looks like he's going to crash into the guy's behind!

Part way through the show, they say they need 2 volunteers with a camera. Hmmmm...... I like participating.... and I DID have a camera....... but being the cautious sort that I am...... I held back. I must have zoned out during this part of the show last time since I didn't remember what happened. Now I wish I had raised my hand. What a great perspective for a memorable shot! and look at those lightweights. One has the flash up.....I would never use a flash for that sort of shot.....the other didn't even have her camera up! Next time...... I'm SO raising my hand!

The show was cute and Drew really liked it. I'm glad we got to see it.

The plan was to leave the park by noon and eat back at the POP. We were close to on time, but decided it would be nice to have another food choice and opted to take a few more minutes to eat at AK:

IMG_5356B by mom2rtk, on Flickr

Sorry, no food photos. Just a sign to remember where we ate. Next time, I have to do more food shots.

On the way out, we saw this guy. Since we had never met him before and he had next to no line, I insisted on stopping.

One more shot of the Tree of Life as we exited the park around 12:50.......

After finally putting all those nasty "lost tripod" vibes out of my head, I was ready to get back and see if I could find out anything. Of course, since nobody called back, I wasn't optimistic.

Sigh..... yep. Don't blink. You'll end up with great big Disney haters at your house too!

And yes..... I'm picturing the scrapbook page in my mind already....... It will be the "end" page in my album...... and have all the animal butt shots!

I'm serious!

Now, now...... no flaming.....

I didn't say I don't LIKE Epcot. I just said I like it 4th best among the WDW parks.........

Oh you don't have to worry about me flaming on anyone! I think everyone has the right to like what they want and dislike what they want. Nothing annoys me more on the DIS than someone who thinks that everyone has to think exactly like them! :headache: I was just very shocked to hear that from you and wondered if I misunderstood what you were saying. There is sooooooooooooo much beauty in Epcot (WS) that it totally threw me for that to be your least favorite. I think it's a shutterbug's dream and has THE best backdrops for character meets. But again, that's just my opnion. I am very curious though to know what it is that you don't like? And I will admit that I don't care for Future World much at all. I think it is sort of a hodge podge of buildings that are supposed to look modern but actually look outdated. I do enjoy TT, Soarin, the Nemo stuff and Spaceship Earth, but I think there is a huge amount of wasted real estate up there.

Now, onto your update... Love the EE pictures! They are so crisp and clear to be on a moving ride. Your PP pics are great too. I can't believe how much your family has changed in five years! Your kids are absolutely a bunch of cuties though!

Love the pic with the blue bug (I can't think of his name right now, Flick, Flicker????). Anyway, don't you love it when you see a new character that you've never taken pictures with before!

Your FoW pictures are great too! That is at the top of my to-do list the next time we go to AK. Somehow we never time it right. They had some beautiful birds in that show. I'm afraid I would have been one of those 'lightweights' though if I had been chosen to go up! :lmao:

Still enjoying your pics, especially the empty AK ones and the front row EE ones, even if you don't, apparently. ;)

The bug's name is Flik. He walked past us a couple weeks ago, but we haven't officially met him yet.

Caught up on your last couple of updates, Beautiful Safari pics! That is awesome you got a pic of the female Lion (Lioness?). I love that little baby elephant! Cute pic of the little baby Gorilla, too, Those couple of pics of the 3 of you turned out good, too.

Thanks Rinky! The crew really has changed in 5 years. good thing I haven't changed a bit..... :rolleyes1

As for Epcot.... it's not that I don't like it. It's more like I just haven't given it a real chance yet. It's no secret that I LOVE the Magic Kingdom. We just tend to spend SO many days at the MK that the other parks never really get their due. I think we have barely scratched the surface at Epcot. I'm sure we'll love it one day when we give it the appropriate time. But I honestly just don't feel the drive to take time away from the MK yet. Maybe as Katie gets older.....

Besides....... did you notice? There's no castle in Epcot......

Thanks Mesaboy! I enjoyed riding EE from the front seat and will probably continue to do so. But I just like ride photos where there are people screaming and hair flying! The way the EE ride cars are set up though, it's hard to get great photos from any seat. The seat backs are too high. So what if people get a little whiplash.....I'd rather have some great photos! :rotfl:

Thanks for saving me the Google search on Flik. I knew that was his name but couldn't remember if it was Flik or Flick. The spelling nerd in me didn't want to take a chance in getting it wrong. And I was too lazy to look it up yet!

Thank you! :goodvibes I would love to tour AK sometime with one of the REALLY long lenses some have. My good lens only goes to 150. I'd love a high quality 300mm lens. I just wouldn't want to carry it......

They do that on purpose ya know... popcorn::

You have to keep bugging them unfortunately. I found that out when Lucy's ears went missing last May. I called everyday for a week and had no luck. Called back two weeks later and ta-da! They had them... :sad2:

P.S. - I'm going to have to get you up to speed on EP... Have you not stopped for the street performers??? Those are fun to shoot! :teeth:

I took ride video from Row 2 with DW and DD in the front row this last visit. You're absolutely right, those seat backs are high and you'd never know it was my family in front of me other than a few strands of hair here and there.

:lmao: Yeah, I have noticed the lack of a castle! Can't argue with you there!

And see, your explaination makes perfect sense to me. I feel the same way about HS. It's not that I don't like it, I just hate to take time from MK or Epcot to go there because it doesn't have as many things that I enjoy as the other parks. And I also understand about kids not being crazy about WS too (if that's what you meant about 'when Katie is older'). I think most kids probably don't like it much. DD only likes it because she gets to shop the whole day! I used to feel that way about AK too, but it has really grown on me and I very much enjoy going there now. It has so much pretty scenery and I love the animals.

Thanks Glennie! Remind me.... are you the ones we ran into outside the Crystal Palace that night?
No we met in the line for the 7 dwarfs at MVMCP on the Tues. night. I was the one with the little girl in the glittery dress. (The ones drooling over Katie's Snow White gown)
