Princess Mya's MAW Trip Report: First Day and Going Away Party Posted 3/6/09

Well it is becoming more real each and everyday. Currently I'm sitting in front of an multi-colored excel spreadsheet with park hours, great ideas and things to consider created by Maroo. Thanks Girl it's awesome!

We are getting an extra night at the end and are currently looking for a place to stay that last night. I would like to get Mya on property that last night and have posted over on the DVC board my desire to secure some points if someone has some that may go to waste. We don't have much to pay, but I did get a PM from an interested party that is going to look into what might be available. I think we would be happy with just having a room on property. We are also hoping they may have a room only discount if this doesn't work out.

It looks like the Pirate and Princess Parties for 2009 will be canceled or at least not operating while we are there. This was one of big reasons for choosing February, but hey were going to Disney and the kids can wear their costumes to a dinner or something.

Too go along with the DVC IM we received we got another exciting one as well. We got the "Big Give" Request email. I am so excited to share it with Mya when she get's home from school. This morning was crazy and I forgot to tell her. I shared it with my wife last night and she was dumb struck. She just doesn't understand why perfect strangers are willing to do all of this for us.

We also got a call yesterday from a local charity that wants to assist with a few of Mya's bills. It's not a lot of money they are offering, but every little bit would help right now. We spent black Friday sitting in front of the computer figuring out what to pay on my hourly wage I now have. Big change from the tax bracket we used to be in, but we know the Lord provides and he will not let us go hungry, or naked.

So now back to the spread sheet. So many things to do, so little time as they say. I must remember this is Mya's trip! I must remember! :rolleyes1

I have ADR's for 1900 and Cinderella's Royal Table. Think we will do the Shamu Lunch thing and probably a Bibbidi Boutique experience. We plan on pin trading, riding carousels over and over, hitting all the fantasy land rides many times and Dad has to ride Everest. I'm sure we will throw in many more things, but anything else we just must do?
Yea for the big give! My DH doesen't understand the big give either. He also doesn't understand my internet friends or as he calls them, "imaginery friends." :lmao:

Since you're in TX, have you talked to your social worker at the hosptial about charities for medical bills? I know there are two that have toe be applied by your social worker. One is Hereos for Children. :) Can't remember the name of the other one.... Will pM you if it appears in my brain! :rotfl:

Good luck and can't wait to hear more!!

My husband was overwhelmed when he found out about our Big Give. He was really moved.
He wasnt surprised about the group forum internet friends though, I have been on forums for about 10 years and he knows how close computer friends can get, I have met a lot of my message board friends in real life too.

I too need a Maroo Spreadsheet, me has little green eyed monster on my shoulder

Yes it's a wonderful starting point I added to the bottom of mine Park hours for all options, but other than that I don't think I changed a thing.

You are so welcome!! :)

Depending on where the medical bills are coming from? Like Out of Pockets from insurance, etc? You might can get help from www.needymeds.com. The income limits are surprisingly high for some of those medicines. And they have some foundations that will help you pay the copays on some drugs...even chemo drugs, etc. (info for whoever might be reading this)...

I would definitely call the social worker at the hospital. They can surely help with those. And also...don't worry about "paying off" medical bills...just send each office/doctor/hospital that you owe "some" money each month and you should be fine. Then if they get irritable with you, you can re-evaluate then. Most medical offices know that patients can't afford the whole thing...and are just happy with a little bit each month. Even $5.00 shows that patients are trying.

WOW I just got some exciting news, but I have to run to work.

Here's a clue....

BWV

My guess is that someone has gifted you points for BWV? Can't wait to hear your news.

YIKES!!! i don't even know what BWV even is?!?!?

The suspense is killin me! :)

I am guessing you are staying at Boardwalk Villas ( a Disney Vacation Club property) on your extra day? If somebody gifted you points, that would be super cool! Just staying there would be cool!

We are going to be in Orlando for a day or so before our Disney Cruise next Christmas- we are going to try and buy points from someone to stay the the BWV. It looks super cool to us!

If you do stay there, you will have to tell me all about it!

Carol

Well you kids are quick to the punch. It's true we have been gifted by another disser who decided to pay an opportunity forward.

We will be spending our final night in a BoardWalk Villa. This is right across the bay from where Naomi and I spent our Honeymoon, 12 years and a month earlier when we finally go. Never would have thought we would be taking a Make A Wish child back then.

This is one of the best gifts we have received. This was given by an individual that just wanted to pass on the "magic" and a whole lot of "pixie dust". I pray some day when we get back on our feet that we will be able to do it for someone else!

I'm so happy for your family. That is amazing. Now you can stop worrying and start the full on planning. :cool1:

That is totally awesome! :cloud9:

I am going to have to look that place up! :) I don't really understand the DVC...I might should really look into that! :)
