I think the breakfast has a special charm because it's the original, it can get you into the park early and that is a big plus. I like breakfast better than lunch personally. The lunch menu just doesn't do it for me, but I think the character interaction is the same.
We just had lunch there. My food was excellent--salmon and asparagus. the appetizers were very good and my kids liked theirs---pretzel dogs, sweet potato chips and salad. Cute dessert with a chocolate crown on ice cream. The service was nice. We were seated by the window, so nice view. The princesses didn't make an appearance until our food was served and their interaction was very short and sweet. Not too impressed with that--maybe tired at lunch compared to breakfast??? Overall, it was a nice experience, but not what I had geared myself up for. Next time, I will go for something a little more lively, but I'm glad we did it once.

The time the princesses spend with you is short because they have to stick to a set schedule. They only have so much time alotted to them by the restaurant to do their round and then be back again. It has nothing to do with being tired but everything to do with keeping to a list of times for them to do a rotation and then take a 'tea time' while the staff turns the tables. This is how it is at PSB too so don't think it's not because the princesses don't want to spend time with you.
I realize they have a schedule to keep, but we have been to several character meals and this was by-far the least interactive of all. I don't expect them to stay....just be talkative and make it special.
